Star Wars Action Figures / Lance's customs (The Cast of "Summer Job")
« on: October 23, 2005, 01:24 PM »
This is something I have been meaning to do for some time now - spotlight the customs that appear in the interactive photonovel in their own thread.

Now I am not much of a customizer at all, my feeble skills are limited merely to limb-swapping and some crude painting.

And, unfortunately, the "main character" of the interactive story (who, by the way,
doesn't have a real name yet - hint, hint) is one of the worst customs ever, even by
my standards (and was made in haste using only the sparse materials I had handy at the time.)

So here are a few of the characters.  More images will follow!

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Help! I need to remove stains!
« on: September 15, 2005, 04:19 PM »
If only they made Whisk in 3 3/4" scale....

Over the past few months, I've noticed a disturbing trend...strange reddish stains began appearing on my figures.  It was especially noticeable on white figures.  A precious VOTC stormtrooper now sports a big red gash on his helmet...and my stormtrooper belt accessory is now virtually a stylish pink color.

I eventually discovered the culprit - or so I thought...I figured that since the belt got stained while trying to put it on my maroon painted custom figure for the interactive photonovel that the maroon paint was somehow coming off, onto my fingers, then onto the toys.

But so many more toys seemed affected than just ones I handled after handling that maroon figure.

Over the week-end, I learned the REAL source of the stains.  I keep my figures stored in stackable plastic "christmas ornament" boxes.  One of these boxes has a green lid...the other, a red lid.

It was the red plastic LID that is staining the figures!  After touching the lid, then a figure - presto!  A pink, "blushing" figure.  I almost totally soiled poor Mon Mothma's dress while making this discovery.

So here's my problem:  the crap won't come off!  I tried soap and water, nail polish remover and alcohol!

Help!  I need some heavy duty stuff here to clean off these infected figures!  Any suggestions??

Star Wars Action Figures / Alderaanian babe
« on: September 14, 2005, 02:08 PM »
Sorry to post a "tease" thread with no custom in it, but I need a little help.

Anyone remember the scene in ROTS when Organa returns to the Tantive?  He walks down the hall with Antilles and says something about making sure more Jedi don't "walk into this catastrophe."

With him are Antilles and a young woman in a kind of white dress who is never seen again.

Does anyone know if this character has a name?  Are there pictures of her on line?  I'd love to take a crack at customizing her.

Hey, gang, please check out and play the web's first FULLY INTERACTIVE photonovel experience!!!

Think of this like one of those old "King's Quest" style video games, or
a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book.  In this story, YOU, the reader
gets to decide how the action will unfold!

So be sure to post your replies to what you think our main character
should do.

And don't be afraid to EXPLORE and INTERACT with your environment, and ACQUIRE any objects which aren't nailed down.

Have fun and please note that a parallel thread is running with this story on rebelscum, so responses from both websites will determine
the course of the action.

Enjoy!
