* For the newbies, The Medicom Toy Exhibition is sort of like "Kubrick Toy Fair". There are always exclusives (SW and non-SW) at the show. Almost every year they've held a show, there has been some sort of carded SW Kubrick as well as a few other things for sale or order at the show...
Since Medicom has announced the dates for this year's show (6/21 - 6/30), I thought I'd get a thread rolling so we can all spend the next 30 days hoping/praying/speculating on what we'll see... :)
So... what are you hoping to see? Series 10? Series 11? A new box set?
-
Vlix....
Or spirit Yoda
-
Well we know that the Shadow Guard is still floating around somewhere but i am hoping for another Droids figure. Vlix would be awesome (but expensive as most fo the Parco figures are)
-
Great more stuff we can't afford....
-
I'd like to see them announce Series 10, which is hopefully ROTS and then they'll get back to the OT stuff. I think they'll release the Shadow Guard as the exclusive.
I'm hoping for a Droids boxed set. They've snuck enough stuff out, they could do the box next. It would be awesome if they did a couple of the unreleased Droids figures in the box set, like Kleb Zellock. I'd eat up just about anything related to Droids. Fromms would be awesome, Vlix would be freaking stellar.
I fear the next progression may be the Ewoks series, though the Bearbrick releases may pre-empt that happening (I hope).
-
I would love to see a Vlix, the Shadow Guard is long overdue so this might be the show. :)
Maybe we will see some Indy Kuby's since the movie is out. Heck, with the Indy chase that came out in 2003 & the with the Indy & Idol Kubrick/Bearbrick 2pk coming out, this would be a good time. Marion, Belloq in robe, Swordsman, Sallah, chase Ark/Crystal Skull... etc. An endless series.

I am really hoping that the reason they are re-doing "basic Indy" with the Be@r in that 2-pack is so that they could launch a new Indy Series or two (or four) without folks complaining that the only way to get standard hat Indy is a $90 chase.
-
I would like to see in either carded, boxset or series form the following.
Lobot
Garindan
Ree-Yees
Salacious B. Crumb (The inconsistency in the detail of the sw kubs makes me say no to this...but still...)
I would say Porkins or Biggs but do we really need another pilot after Luke, Wedge and Jorg?
There are a ton of others I'd like but I think you get my "minor character" vibe just from those I've listed.
-
:D Hope that they'll bring on the Fan Choice of Vlix Oncard..
-
I'd dig some Indy Kubs. Hoping they stick to their guns and do older stuff first. Haven't seen the new movie yet, but I'd hate to see poor sales put the kibosh on a ROTLA series.
-
Yeah indy kubs would be great but I want to see medicom make the female characters more feminine and children shorter (yoda height).
Basically I don't want Marion to look like she could go up against indy pound for pound. Shape those bodies medicom!!
I mean how can indy call short round short if he's the same height?
This is my wish list for series 1 which I hope will be at the show.
Indy
Marion
Belloq
Sallah
Marcus Brody
Toht
chases
Melted face Belloq
Satipo
Dietrich
I think that pretty much covers all the bases ;)
-
Belloq's face didn't melt so much as explode. Toht would be the better, not to mention more iconic, choice for "melted face."
I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to change the base kubrick body for the female characters. They do look somewhat chunky, but having all of the figures use more or less the same heads and bodies is part of the appeal, I think.
-
Yeah I agree with the melted face thing basically because I thought more of the concept than the ideal character.
I also missed out a potential figure or chase... The Cairo swordsman!!!
I don't think it's too much to ask for them to shape the female bodies I mean look at yoda or the droids they're hardly consistant with a basic kubrick shape. They can certainly make the child characters smaller as well.

I'm in the same camp. Kubricks are block figures. If I want something with shape, I'll go grab some Hasbro stuff.
I'm ok with kids like Anakin or Short Round being shorter, but I don't need anything but block figures period.
-
A Jabba on throne box set :o

A Jabba on throne box set :o
I have been wanting one for a long time. I would be very happy with that.
-
I hope to see OT Kubricks.
Don't get me wrong, the PT ones look great, but I made my choice of not getting them and (so far) have stuck to my guns, but I'm getting jealous of everyone getting new Kubricks.
-
Keep in mind, I have no idea exactly what/when/where these are yet... just getting some pics from the show:
Pilot Jango and Baby Boba!
Holo Vader, R2-B1, Chewie/Wookiee?
I have also heard that Series 10 is at the show (maybe the stuff in the second pic?)... no confirmation on what is what yet though!
-
Maybe it's another 5-piece boxed set?
-
I'm surprised that they have taken this long to reuse the Chewbacca mold (or at least the head, anyway). Did one of his fellow Wookies in the Sith film have stripes like that?
-
The pilot Jango and young Boba figures look great. Not a big fan of the holo Vader and R2-B1, but would really like to have a few more wookies in my collection!
-
Looking good ;D
-
Are those 400% R2 and Yoda?
-

Figures that just when I finally get the early bird set they re-release Chewbacca. I hope it's a prequel wookie instead.
The big news for me is that they apparently are releasing super-deformed VCDs of Yoda and R2D2! Isn't that what I see in the background?
EDIT: To answer my own question, yes they are VCDs.
-
Are those 400% R2 and Yoda?
Like icruise said, they are apparently VCD figures...
Here's an updated list of what they "definitely" had on display... sounds like there may be a few other things mixed in... still trying to figure it all out.
VCD Prototype [Vintage] Fett
VCD Yoda
VCD R2-D2
Kubrick Series 10
RAH Han Solo
RAH Ep3 Anakin
RAH Ep2 Clone Trooper (Captain/Red)
RAH Ep2 Clone Trooper (Commander/Yellow)
-
I'm definitely intrigued by their RAH Solo and Anakin.
-
Can't wait for series 10 pics.

Medicom RAH RotS Anakin Skywalker (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=17694.0)
Medicom RAH RotS Han Solo (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=17693.0)
Medicom RAH AotC Clone Troopers (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=17695.0)
-
Just an FYI that I spun off the VCD talk and moved it to the existing thread (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=10161.210) on them. ;)
-
Holo Vader, R2-B1, Chewie/Wookiee?
Someone over at Kubrick Nation speculated that these figures could be an upcoming Toys R Us exclusive set. I thought that was an interesting idea since there hasn't been one in a while. Any thoughts on that?
-
I'd say "5-Pack box set" is a pretty good guess for these...
I have to say I'm a little bummed about these. I've been digging, but haven't found a better pic of whatever these are (and whatever else may be with them). Oh well, back to digging... something will pop up eventually!
-
It does seem TRUish
The spirit vader just annoys me though.
-
Maybe it's supposed to be a holo-vader?
-
Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere . . .

Thought this might be of interest too . . .

400% Indy
-
First Time I'm seeing them!!
Wow. 400% Indy. I hadn't seen that one yet. He is definitely in my Wheelhouse.
and finally the "Mystery Set" of 5 has been fully revealed. Is that Mace Windu I see!! Finally another Jedi Master is revealed.
-
Holy smokes the 5 pack rocks!
-
I hope that five pack is easier to get than last year's.
And I might be down for that 400% Indy.
-
That five pack, if that's what it is, is a really odd mix of things. I'd like to get it if I can though.
I'm definitely getting big Indy.
Indy..............Indy........................Indy.....................Indy............................Indy........................Indy......
-
Anyone know who the guy on the extreme right is?
-
Looks to be a Human A-Wing Pilot
-
Looks to be a Human A-Wing Pilot
That was my thought too.
-
I thought it was a ROTJ Y-wing pilot.

-
HOLY CRAP! 400% INDY!!!! :o :o :o I am all over that figure once it's released! I'm sure this is premature, but any thoughts that this might be an item that can be ordered in bulk from Robbie?!

I agree. There's a ESB holo Vader, TPM R1-B2, ROTS(?) Wookie, AOTC/ROTS Mace and a ROTJ(?) A-Wing or Y-Wing Pilot. Very odd indeed...
-
Damn both those new pics are sweet. I want both of them. I hope that 5 pack is a TRU exclusive thus making it not as hard to track down but still difficult.
-
I thought it was a ROTJ Y-wing pilot.

Shoot, that's what I meant.
-
Oooh... Must. Have. 400% Indy.
That's awesome!
E...
-
Wow, those VCDs look awesome, and the 400% Indy seemed like a certainty with news of the 400% Golden Idol Be@rbrick, but it's nice to see. I may get that.
-
Damn, I'll probably have to get a 400% Indy, too. My poor, poor bank account :(
-

The Vader was available from Robby.jp and I know HLJ.com had the Luke/Han Stormtroopers, so I'm guessing and hoping that the Indy will be available that way as well.
-
Well there is the Mace Windu we were all worried about. I guess that opens up a chase spot in series 10.
-
I thought it was a ROTJ Y-wing pilot.
Shoot, that's what I meant.
yea, I meant what he said what he meant.
-
A very strange 5 pack mix indeed, but I like it. At least there are no troop builders in there- I still don't understand why the Superbattle droid is in a 5 pack rather than being a multiple per box piece. But, medicom is medicom.

No stranger than the Snowtrooper it seems.

The 5pk looks nice, great to finally see them all. I'm down for a set. 8)
Now for this 400% Indy... (http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/konfus/e022.gif) (http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/c020.gif)
Sweet damn, I'm all over him! (http://www.telusplanet.net/public/djustus/Kubricks/Indy.......Indy.......Indy........Indy.........Indy.........Indy............bmp)
Yepper, going to be a nutso pricey year for Kuby's. ;D
