Star Wars Action Figures / Re: CHEWIE's CUSTOM UPDATE
« on: March 14, 2005, 06:30 PM »
Wow, just spent a while going through most of this thread, and I've got to say this is some amazing stuff you've put together here CHEWIE!  The customs are top notch, but the dioramas and scenes are just awesome.  Keep up the incredible work!   8)

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: 2005 Cantina Wave
« on: December 11, 2004, 03:31 AM »
I'm all for complaining.  It seemed to work well for the Saga Hoth Han figure, didn't it?   :D

Regardless of Dannik's shortcomings, I'm really excited about this entire wave of Cantina figures.  Part of a dream come true for me, as the Cantina is my absolute favorite Star Wars environment.  So to get 3 more obscure backgrounders out of Hasbro is a-ok with me!  Now if they'd just make one more wave with Arcona, Bom Vimdin and a Tonikka sister or two, I'd be in heaven.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS carded figures
« on: December 11, 2004, 03:26 AM »
Looks promising, but then again, I always seem to think that whenever I see new figures for the first time.  But I'll hope for the best with these.

That C-3PO might just possibly be the SA version we've all wanted for quite a while, but that Hasbro surprisingly failed miserably at delivering during during the VOTC run.

Nice to see all those neutrally sculpted Jedi in there too.  Now if only they had cloth robes to go along with what looks like articulated knees on most of them, we could swap them into our Jedi Council scenes, and finally forgive Hasbro for making us buy all those rehashed crap figures that came in those last 4 horrid sets.

Dare I say it, but does that Chewie look like a ANH/ESB version of the VOTC one that we got (for ROTJ)?  It just looks to be a different hairstyle around his bangs really, which a lot of people have been saying that they'd like to see.  If that's indeed the case, then kudos to Hasbro for that brilliant move!

Either you're a little late, or a whole lot early with that post.  Can't you see that we're trying to focus on Christmas now?   :P

Funny costume though.

I'm quickly learning that my future in-laws go pretty nuts with the Christmas shopping too.  My family's always been fairly tame with the shopping, but with a new fiancee in my life this year, I'm seeing that she might be looking to spice things up just a little.  I'm just glad that she's handling 90% of the shopping, since that whole chore gives me a major headache.

There have been rumblings from a few poeple in my wife's family about changing to a partner type system, where you're only buying for one other person instead of everyone.  But I highly doubt that will actually come to fruition.

We have been spending a lot more than I'm used to on Christmas decorations for around the house though.  I guess as a former bachelor, stuff like that wasn't such a high priority to me in the past.  But whatever keeps my girl happy now!   ;)

Forget after Episode 3's run, I want during!  Now forgive my lack of love for ESB here, but there's just no interesting choices left from that one anymore.

#2 Cz-3
#3 R5-D4
#4 Bom Vimdin (Advose)
#6 Tonnika Sisters Two Pack
#10 Biggs Darklighter (Academy Cut Scene)

#2 Hermi Odle
#3 Yarna D'al Gargan
#10 Sim Aloo

Wow, that's an awesome collection there Jesse!  Very well rounded with so many different sublines represented.  Most jealous I am!

I have to concur on that Vader sculpture there.  Very unique conversation piece, and an excellent addition to the collection.  Congrats.

I think you need to expand your collection a bit jokabofe.  Doesn't look like you have very much stuff.   :P

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the walls!  Nice work.

Nice setup there DBK!  Do you mostly just collect the "specialty" pieces of the modern line, or is that just what you put in your display cabinet there?

I assume that's the vintage wind-up R2 from Japan there.  What kind of deal to you pull on that one?  I take it he was loose, with no card?  Nice pickup.

I really like that framed set of comics too.  Nice touch!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Official Movie Thread
« on: November 24, 2004, 03:57 PM »
We went and saw National Treasure a few days ago.  The trailer made it look a little better than it turned out to be, but it was still fairly entertaining.  Something about an older Nic Cage in an Indiana Jones type role just doesn't work so well for me for some reason.  But the U.S. history aspects of the movie, and the hot blonde, were fun to see.  Just popcorn stuff though, so you intellects out there may want to pass on it.

Next up, despite the poor reviews so far, is Alexander.

Congratulations DB!  Is this your first kid?  If so, best of luck to you guys!   ;)

Don't open those figures just yet though.  Probably best to start him off with just the Playskool line I think.   :P

Enjoy fatherhood.

Thoroughly enjoying your photo novel series so far CHEWIE.  Nice custom work.  Keep it up!   8)

What can possibly be said that hasn't been said by everyone else already?

Just amazing.  Excellent work Muftak.  Please send your resume and some sample photos into Hasbro, and tell them you can provide a LOT of references if they require!   ;)

I don't know if I can wait for the next level now.  What's your ETA on that one?

LEGO / Re: MiniFigs You Want
« on: November 24, 2004, 03:44 PM »
Way too many to list at this point FX, but I'd say most of the background alien characters from the Cantina and Jabba's Palace would be right at the top of my mini figure want list.  They've tackled most all of the main characters already, outside of a costume change here and there.

I'd love to see some dedicated figure sets.  Forget the ships and playsets, though I'd love more of those as well.  Lego should just give us some packs of all new figures (4 in each would suffice), since they don't seem to want to send anything else remotely new our way right now.   :-\

LEGO / Re: Upset about the packaging change?
« on: November 24, 2004, 03:40 PM »
Hey, that's good news!  Thanks for the tip Jedimac.  I'm going to have to zip over to Target soon and try that.  Sounds pretty easy, and doesn't seem too morally unethical really.   ;)

I just wish they could've put some NEW product out in the OTC packaging, besides just the UCS sets.  Closest we came was a resculpted Falcon, and one fourth of that Tie Fighter set.   :-\
