Matt, you smoking that happy stuff again?
And for those who don't like sports we will have other entertainment.
Too many & mixing = (http://adwoff.com/ubb/graemlins/bigbarf.gif)
I brought a case of Pilsner Urquell with me tonight for everyone to try that hasn't already. Gotta love a good Czech beer. I know I do. :)
Well I think its time I step up to ye ol' preverbial bar and have myself a few drinks...
Lets start it off with about 5 pints of Guiness on tap, room temperature. Some Crown Royal sounds nice right about now as well. And I think I'll finish the night off with some Saki bombers
Oh, oh! Pick me.
Oh, oh! Pick me.
Where do you feel that your services might be best utilized? I'm all ears.
;D
Brent's being his usual annoying, pestering , irritating, aggitating self
as calm and focused as Kobe in the final 30 seconds of a close game...Unless of course they are playing Portland ;)
I'll have to politely decline any offers for a tag team match this time around though. Scott's mine, and mine alone!Respectfully request another member to post a picture of a chicken. No idea Matt was so afraid of me. :P
A case perhaps? :(
Ain't love a b***h, Carrie? That's a bummer your man's so far away. So you're in ChiTown, remind me how far away is he again? I want to say Colorado or somewhere near there...
I'll have whatever you're having. Better to drink with friends when you're down - though a whole case might be a bit too much. But we'll play it by ear... :'(
So do you have plans to move out to be with your fella sometime soon? I'd guess yes based on your location blurb in your profile here. If so, just try to keep that happy thought in mind right now! :)
Better than sappy old Matt MegaBucks ;)
Carrie, I would love to help you move but my old & frail back would not allow it. That & my tennis elbow. ;D
Howdy everyone. I haven't been around much in the last couple of weeks so someone pass me a glass. I will sip on the drink while I catch up on the posts here.
I'll never forget my last week of College when I discovered the fruity goodness of the Granny Smith variety...Barkeep, send me down a nice one :P
Dale, you're a champion. We could all learn a thing or two from you. ;)
I'm down at the University of Illinois right now visiting my cousin (got the wife with me too). My cousin is graduating tomorrow, and we're going bar-hopping tonight. I haven't done that since the college days (been since 1996), so I'm in for a real treat. If I don't make it back alive you've all been great! :P
Looks like tonight the Mom and I will be going to Friday's (a place that I used to incessantly tease people for frequenting until I went myself and tried their drinks). I will no doubt have several Junebugs (one of my favorite things on the planet).
Its also my mothers Birthday on Monday. 77 years old.
I'm going to crack open a cool one to celebrate Minnesota adopting a 2AM bar closing time. Its about time! :-*
Geez... What the heck time was is before? You poor deprived Northwesterners... It's been 2am here in SoCal for as long as I've been able to hit the town.
Now now don't get to hard on us midwesterners, here in WI it has been 2AM boozing ever since I can remember. You want to see backwards drinking take a look down south to the dry counties and no booze sundays. What would a football game be without a little alcohol haze ;) and for a disclaimer not all southerners are not backwards just the booze policy.
It's hot, it's snowing. Make up your bloody mind mate ;)
No wonder the bars never close. You have weather so schizophrenic it drives you to drink. ;D
I threw some whiskey into some bottled strawberry sparkling water...its different. I should have just drank it straight :-\
Victoria bitter ale. Yum.
I'll have a beer & I don't care what kind. These people that just win auctions think I know what the shipping cost is when the auction ends without knowing were there from are driving me nuts! (http://adwoff.com/ubb/graemlins/bonk.gif)
15 emails from 1 guy! ::)
Oh the hell with it, give me a shot or 2. (http://www.cheesebuerger.de/smilies/nahrung/24.gif)
Sure, we'll accept your DL Chewbacca!
But Andrew on the other hand... ::) Whoever's tending bar right now better watch out for fake IDs from our resident teens (Brad excluded, of course 8)). Shame on you Andrew! Now put down the Vodka and please depart the JD bar immediately!
hit me up with a few more of these and i'll be all set tonight ;D
yummmm

Double shot Grey Goose Vodka (as cold as possible - I keep mine in the freezer)
1 can Red Bull
Hmmm... sounds interesting. I had my first Red Bull today, I just had to find out what all of the hype was about. Not bad, but had a bit of a medicated taste to it - I can see the Vodka helping with that! ;)
And that's why I choose Grey Goose above all others, 'cause it's got a sweet taste to it... it's awesome. Try it, you won't be disappointed. I drank about 6 of those tonight, along with another 8 - 10 Amstel Light bottles (my current beer of choice) ;D

Always keep your booze in the freezer, you never know when you'll need it. My Crown Royal Rye lives there too. :)
Yum... those are good too, Jason. We'll have to get together at C3 and do some hardcore drinking... looks like there's a few of us that are into it... ;D
p.s. 2/7- don't let me drink at C3... I should stay sober... that way I can't cause too many problems...
If not, Deanpaul will be around to help take care of me, and squash any potential fights I start.
that was the date of my update to my post... anyone know the name of that drink btw?
Yeah, same goes for most of us here probably. But especially... well, uh, yeah, I'm a perfectly good drunk. I promise. If not, Deanpaul will be around to help take care of me, and squash any potential fights I start. Hopefully he can clean up after Brent's mess too! :P
BTW, what's 2/7 mean Shannon?
Mmmm... had a good evening hanging out with my next door neighbour - he introduced me to Vodka and Coke. I always thought it sounded liek a weired combination, but this has just become one of my favourites. I'mm gonna sleep good tonite. :) :D

Sheesh. Do you go cow tipping too? Bloody rural Canadians ::) :P Vodka and coke, liver disease here I come.
No fear, only cyber meetings at your convenience where you proclaim your fondness for mead, etc.

Hey! I have a bottle of mead in the fridge... It's from a brewer here in north Texas.
there is a time and place for mead...
That mead you're all talking about reminds me of some crazy **** I drank a couple weeks ago- absinthe.
I think it was bootlegged, because I don't see how one can get absinthe into Iowa.
It tasted terrible. And the X-Box controller on the floor started talking to me about it's day.
BTW- jokabofe has the greatest avatar ever. :D
Man I should get a fake ID for c3. :P
Think they serve 7&7 there?

Move to Canada, drinking age is 18 or 19, depending on the province. :-*
Oh ****. I cracked open the vodka again tonite. Damn that goes down nice. But I only had a couple, cuz I don't need to make an ass of myself again. Right? I still gotta try that Red Bull and Vodka combo Dave, maybe tomorrow? My wife is working, she'll never even know. Tee hee.

Well, did you ever make some of those Vodka/Red Bull's yet Jesse?
So which of you hosers is going to join me in a drink? Alcoholics feel guilty when they drink alone...
Diet Dr. Pepper
Hmmm... brewski's. Now that I opened it, guess I have to finish it. ;D

Yikes.

Pounding a bunch of the wife's white and red wine tonight (she's out for the evening, and it's all we had here).
Who else is pretty buzzed, on the way to drunk, on a Wednesday night?! 8)

What brand is the wine, and year?
I'm not yet, but I could be. I'd hate to see a guy drink alone. I've been itching for a reason to pour some Vodka. Mmmm...
Wife just got home, and I'm busted for finishing her 2 bottles of wine. ****. :-\
How you comin' along now?
Just a nice smooth Guinness right about now should do the trick (as usual). 8)Damn straight, I just finished one :) :) :)
Geez... you must really be having a day to have to go to wine coolers...
Mich Golden isn't country wide? Weird
One of my favorites actually
(http://www.moviepostershop.com/item_img/1-26831.jpg)
My beer of choice is MGD andmore recently Budweiser Select
Just because you said that I will ::)Thanks, I think :-\
Seriously, after 15 beers I don't even know what I'm drinking in that bottle- so I may not get a miller :(
It's my wife's birthday today, so I'm off to get ****faced. 8)Hey, its HER birthday, you're supposed to be the designated driver/sober/responsible one!

Oh. So you took the back roads and side streets home, eh? ;)
No worries. They only live a few blocks away. ;)A little off topic, but, when I was younger I lived in Old Town Alexandria. As luck would have it, my favorite bar/hangout was a block over and up from my townhouse. ;) After crossing the street at closing time (which was quite a task sometimes :o), all I had to do was keep my left hand on the side of the townhomes/rowhouses and I would find my way home. My friends and I literally crawled home a couple of times. ;D
I would like death sticks
Real men drink coolers.
This going down mighty good right now. ;D

Shouldn't take long.

Love it.
Nothing like drunk thread posting.... ;D
Oh, I'll have a Sam Adams by the way.
A Jack & Coke please.
A Jack & Coke please.
I'll take a rum and coke, but it would be an honour to drink one with you. I hope you're trip is going ok.
Wife is still out of town 'til tomorrow... so, I'm working on a six-pack of Corona. It is 92º at 10:00 p.m. after all. 8)

In keeping with the holiday theme, I fondly remember my mother's homemade egg nog she'd make every year for us (when we were old enough, of course ;)). It was her own recipe, but basically the same as all the others (except it seemed like she added enough bourbon and brandy to choke a rhino), mixing cream, eggs, sugar and liquor into a slurry of holiday heaven. It was the best alcoholic beverage I've ever had. I miss your egg nog, Mom, and miss you even more.
Anyone else dare to make their own nog?
Make mine a rum and coke. Three to be exact! :)

Wimp! Four for me. :-* But it was rye. :P
He told me that this is an aphrodisiac & will give you characteristics of the dead thingamobob when you drink it.
This rice wine also comes with a snake or gecko. :o

Well how embarassing. I could have sworn that Crown was bourbon. I guess because so many people mix it with coke. Although they also mix Jack and Coke, and Jack Danies is technically a Tennessee Whisky and not a Bourbon.
I'll stick to my single malts, I think.

I am a big fan, i recently went to a wedding with a high end open bar. I asked for the bottle and finsihed it all. It was very nice.

I should have stuck with my first instinct, which was the Sam Adams Winter Sampler.

BTW, I'm still taste testing to see if I give it a thumbs up...
Cuz I only buy Crown Royal. Manitobans. ::)
So Jesse - how did your little taste test work out? And more importantly, how are you feeling today? ;)
I think Original Sam Adams is one of the worst "beers" out there. I am not and never will be a fan of the taste of hops. I really can't stand it but they make other good stuff.
I usually do like fruit flavored beers (SA Cherry Wheat is another one of my favs)
Nathan...I have another challenge for you and being a MN lad one you should take on soon...
Not sure if there is a MGM in Northfield but the ones here always have a sampler 12 pack, some of them are really good, others...Cranberry Lambic ;)
Had a boatload of beers with Colman down in San Diego. Stone was one brewery I seemed to be sticking to, but it was quite hoppy with a hefty aftertaste. Can't remember most of the other varieties I'm afraid.
I wish I had something a little classier on hand, but ya gotta work with what ya got.
Had both of these tonight, trying to get plastered enough so I don't go to work tomorrow.

Thankfully I have 2/3 of a bottle of this at home. Might have to take a couple hits before I go get The Force Unleashed.
That looks expensive. Is it?
Have I said lately I don't miss university, cuz for the most part I don't. Girls, yes. Drinking parties, yes. The rest of it can suck an egg.
Been a long time since I had one of these.
Actually I almost got PBR but it cost like an extra thirty cents for the case. :P
Haven't tried Schlitz though--and are you referring to the older formula or the reinstituted "classic" formula?
"Samuel Adams® Cream Stout is a true cream stout, balancing body and sweetness with the natural spiciness of grain and hand selected English hops. Our Brewers use generous portions of roasted chocolate and caramel malts as well as unroasted barley to impart a fullness of body, a roasty malt character and rich, creamy head. Its dark mahogany color make it almost as easy on the eyes as it is on the palate."
It's not as "creamy" or as good as Guiness, but still reasonably awesome. No doubt it would have been even better if I hadn't been slugging the scotch beforehand and killed my tastebuds, so it's a good thing I still have one left.
2/4 with just Old Fezzi to go. Well the sixth one is regular Boston Lager and we already know that's good, so I guess it's 3/5.
Malibu & pineapple. High Life. Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Yeah I am doing awesome. (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y151/ValinKenobi/Inebriation/alcoholic_1.gif)

So far I've had Heineken, Leinenkugel's, Bud Light, and a ridiculous quantity of Pabst Blue Ribbon. We also have some Domino's coming soon. And I'm amazed I can still spell right now.

Corona Extra. Ahhhh.... cold and limey.
no harm in Glenfidditch....although it's on pretty much every bar around here too, and I'll usually pass it over for a better blended scotch...or sometimes a bourbon.
Not a huge bourbon fan, but I have fallen in love with Woodford Reserve.
Dale, it's always happy hour somewhere in the world. ;D I like the Big Rock stuff for sure but try to stick with the local Fort Garry stuff (which I think Scott will likely come in and claim as Minnesota's ::) ;))
Only brewed locally for the Festival du Voyageur (http://festivalvoyageur.mb.ca/wp/) which I think roughly translates to: **** it, it's cold, let's go play outside and drink lots of beer while we're at it.
Currently six bottles of Scotch in our house

Has anyone else had this?

No Glenmorangie?
Or Johnnie Walker Blue for that matter?
Nice. The Talisker in there is a bit of a surprise though; I sure haven't got my palate to that point yet.
No Glenmorangie?
Nope. Not the biggest fan of it to be truthful. Perhaps it's un-Scottish of me to say but I'm not the biggest fan of anything Glen... That said the image has a 12 and 15 year old Livet, a 14 year old Goyne and a 12 year old Fiddich. I also squirreled away two bottles of Glenfiddich's Snow Phoenix. I do have a friend that absolutely loves Glenmorangie so I can drink it at his place.
True dat. I couldn't bring myself to spend over $100 for a single bottle of liquor right now. However, Makers 46 from the distillers of Makers Mark have comeup with one of the finest bourbons I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy!

But I will be down in TN in November, so I'm completely open to recommendations. It would seem somewhat blasphemous to go all the way to Tennessee and bring home a bottle of Scotch.

To create the perfect taste we let every single drop of our spirits run over the breasts of a special woman, one whose characteristics we saw reflected in the liquor.
This sensuality awakens the true character of our brands and gives them an identity, a soul, a spirit, a G-Spirit.
How not to manage a brand. http://nation.time.com/2013/02/12/makers-mark-waters-down-its-whisky-and-anger-rises/
