ESPECIALLY at Subway.  The cuts are pre-divided into serving sizes for each sandwich.  I do tip at this pizza/grinder restaurant I go to because once you get a rep, then your grinders are loaded.

Strippers:  Yes, this is a funny one...but some strippers actually expect you to tip em.  Not a chance.  The only time I'll give them extra money is if I'm in that front row, and that's because a dollar bill is an incentive to bring them over my way.

I don't frequent strip clubs, in fact I haven't been in close to ten years.  Last time I went was a bachelor party, and one of the other party goers who was a "regular" at the club chastised a friend and me for having bad "ettiquitte" for just sitting back and having a few drinks and watching from a distance.  I don't need to pay a woman a buck to act like she likes me.  It was laughable.

How I've missed you, Josh.

Yeah, I know. I neglected to take the blue pill and learn to hate that place like everyone else, so that makes me the a-hole.

Sorry, I'll shut up now.

If you stand back and read your comments here, you would have to admit you are sort of trolling for a reaction here.  You know there are a big contigent of fans who loath RS here so coming in here whipping the bee's nest is just not a cool thing to do.  You have made your feelings felt, so why keep coming in and whipping people into a lather and then disappearing back to RS only to return and repeat?

You don't hate RS as much as many others do.  We get it.

Long reply short, I loved it.  Best film I've seen this year.  Totally deserves academy nods but has a snowball's chance in hell of getting any.  This film totally spoke to me.

It honestly never occured to me to tip when I pick something up myself.  I'm not trying to stiff anyone -- but how does ordering a pizza, me driving to get it, waiting around for them to finish it and then paying for it merit a tip for them?  What's difference between that and me walking up to the counter at any other food joint and ordering a salad/sandwich/pizza and having someone prepare it for me?   Must I tip everyone? ???

I'm with you here.  The tip line is on the reciept because it is on ALL reciepts.  A tip is for service.  Ringing me up is not a service.  If I sit in, I tip at least 20% and more for good service, and less for bad.  As long as a wait person makes sure my drink is full and that I have napkins, I am happy.  I don't see you during the meal at all? Your tip drops.  I hate it when people don't tip (when the service is good).  Wait people make a lower wage which is supplemented by tips.

As far as buffets go, I usually tip $1 per head.  They do very little service.

Guestimates here:  When do we think this stuff will ship?  I would say not until early 2007.  What do you guys think?

If I get banned for NOT hating Jedidefender, yeah, that would suck.....same as it would if suddenly Chris decided to throw me out of here for not hating RS.

To me, the comparison is absurd.   You'd have to do some hardcore trolling to get banned here, and you would have your nads stomped by the group on your way out.  You wouldn't be quietly banned and then any and all talk about your suspension wiped from the record.

RS is the place where instead of dealing with a problem or criticism, it is swept away.  There are no guideposts for noobs to learn the ropes of posting, since anything that goes awry is deleted.

Just so I understand this, RS gets the news first becasue that is where your read it first?  That math doesn't exactly compute.  If JD (or any other site) uncovers news first, even by 25 minutes, that makes them first.

It's too bad the discussion wasn't allowed to continue as people were bringing up good points on both sides.

It's Phil's website and he can do as he pleases I guess but it seems it was all too much for him.

This incident sums up in a tidy package why I don't consider RS to be worht my time.

When do we ever see a thread deleted here or at GH?  Threads may be locked, but the topics are still there for everyone to read.

RS is run like a communist nation where any dissent is squashed.  Ridiculous.

Does anyone here know how to get ahold of moderators from RS?  We have a big problem over there today.

???

Why would you come here to try to contact RS mod?  I'm not so sure that the "we" you are talking about includes most of the community here.  In fact, there's probably a good number here who delight in RS's problems.

It has gone up about a penny a day here from $2.90 now to $3.05 here in New England.  I heard on the news that the Hurricane SEASON is causing prices to rise.  Remind me again- what crucial-to-oil area was hit by a major hurricane this year?

Smoke and mirrors, and fat cats get fatter.

I think there are two important factors to consider in "Prada" nearing Superman this weekend.

First, due to the demand for "Pirates," the number of screens were increased, and it was likely at the expense of screens showing "Superman."  Combined with the long running time for "Superman," it translates to less tickets available to sell.

Second, "Prada" was an excellent example of counter-programming strategy.  It went for a completely different audience from the other summer "event" pictures.  Every year there is one romantic comedy chick-flickish film that pulls this off.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Movie Running Times: Your thoughts?
« on: July 11, 2006, 09:28 AM »
As long as it doesn't feel like I am waiting for the movie to end, the length doesn't bother me.  I actually hate when a movie seems to end too soon in order to fit into a "time frame" for ticket sales.  RotS is an excellent example of this.

I think that both King Kong and PotC could have been edited to be a bit shorter.  Supes flew by for me.

I understand that.  What I meant is that he seemed to go up after Lois rescued him and "stored up" some extra power to lift out the continent.
