Not sure if this has been posted yet, or how many other people know about it but the Adult Swim show Robot Chicken will be doing a 30 minute Star Wars special this Sunday night (June 17) at 10 PM EST. Now they've done Star Wars related stuff in the past, but this special appears to be all new material (and some using Hasbro toys). They even got multiple SW personalities to provide voices for the special. So far they've announced that Ahmed Best, Mark Hammil, and Uncle George himself will be providing voices.
Looks to be awesome, and I can't wait for it.
You can find out more info (and watch clips) here (http://www.adultswim.com/shows/robotchicken/stuff/rcsw/).

I love Robot Chicken and have been looking forward to this special. Along with the Family Guy Star Wars special, it will remain on my tivo! ;D
-
When is the Family guy Special?
-
It will be the fall season premier. You can learn more about that here (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=15487.0).

:o COOL! I'll have to set up the DVR for that one as well Thanks! Matt ;)
-
I just saw it, it was by far the best episode of Robot Chicken ever. The Ponda Baba, Max Rebo & "Empire on Ice" skits were the best of the skits. I feel jipped they used a couple of pass SW skits instead of doing brand new skits. :-\
-
I just watched it on starwars.com pretty good ****. ;D
Lobot dancing, Ackbar Cereal, Max Rebo & Empire on Ice was great & the ghost of Jar Jar... :D
-
Ackbar cereal was priceless...
"Your tasebuds can't repel flavor of that magnitude!"
And him swatting away the cereal they had and yelling, "It's a trap!"
hah!
Still one of their greatest is Vader calling after the Death Star's destruction. The kids were rolling around laughing about that... again.
-
I thought the running gag with the janitor sweeping up the bodies of Maul, Windu, and Palpatine was great. The Yo Momma contest was hilarious! "Yo momma's so dumb she spent all day saying 'are not' to R2!" Good stuff, and the modified intro was a nice touch.
Any chance we can get Virex to upload the dancing Lobot onto Lobot's Duplex?
-
I saw it a couple of times last night, and I thought it was really good. I always enjoys Robot Chicken, but it was nice to see a whole half hour dedicated to Star Wars. I got a kick out of the Ackbar cereal sketch as well, good stuff. Its funny the knowledge that the Robot Chicken staff (at least some of them) have for even the background characters of Star Wars. The stuff last night featured Lobot, Ponda Baba, Ackbar, Zuckuss, and more. Funny stuff.
-
Actually, I was a little disappointed. Some sketches were flat out great, like the Walrus Man bit and the Akbar cereal.
Other sketches were pretty good, others went on WAY, WAY too long like Empire on Ice, which got less funny with each passing second. I was also annoyed there were three repeat sketches in there. I find it hard to believe they couldn't have filled the half hour with new material. Felt lazy.
A definite mixed bag. I give it a B-.
-
I watched it too and thought it was okay. The Ackbar bit was great as was the Walrusman segment. The Emperor/Construction worker stuff wasn't bad but the Empire on Ice thing sucked hard and it was unintelligible at some points.
Oh and the Ben kneeing Luke in the junk was funny, but when isn't that type of gag.

Empire on Ice wasn't funny and went on forever. I literally fast-forwarded through it about halfway, I was astonished they wasted so much time and effort on that one-joke sketch. Ugh.
-
Oddly, the preview of Lucas in therapy that was funny, but not in the special. Odd, but I still thought the show was hilarious!
-
I thought the show was funny. My favorite skit was the Ackbar cereal.
-
I think my favorite was the Jawa yelling out Martini instead of Utinni.

I sold the majority of my stock in The Dupe to Berry, so you'll have to ask him.
Just the founder, no longer the curator.

Suprised it's not your avatar Matt!

What, Lobot?
Nah. His mission was accomplished several years ago. I've moved on. So should everybody else.
-
I still get a little hard when i think about how sweet the Duplex was. Not raging or anything, just firmer.

Robot Chicken: Empire Strikes Back's Lando Calrissian led our heroes into a dinnertime trap with Darth Vader (http://www.adultswim.com/video/?episodeID=8a25c39215b258260115b3cc515900a7)
Starts at 3:03.
-
If you watch the credits, it's Billy Dee Williams as the voice of Lando.

It sounds like he also played the voice of the guy who tried to solicit sex from the Jem doll.

I was just over on TV Shows on DVD and it looks like this special will be released on DVD on May 20.

I'm a big Robot Chicken fan so I'll probably end up getting this. Hopefully I can get it for around $10 when it comes out.

Yeah!! Episode II (http://news.aol.com/entertainment/television/article/green-plays-chicken-with-star-wars/95395?icid=200100397x1206055091x1200294356) is coming out in November -- with Carrie Fisher voicing Leia.......
-
Pretty cool. The first special came out on DVD today. I picked up my copy. ;D
-
Good to hear. I actually enjoyed it better than Family guy !
-
I didn't care much for the Robot Chicken version, but I did enjoy the Aluminum Falcon skit.
-
Caught a bunch of these, not all, yet. They are funny and well executed. The Aluminum Falcon one is still the best though.
-
Here's (http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/story/Robot_Chicken_Star_Wars_Episode_II_Clips_118978.asp) a few clips from the upcoming "Episode II" of Robot Chicken Star Wars (which I believe is on this coming Sunday). Looks pretty good.
-
Hmmm, gotta have me some SW Robot Chicken. Hope that airs up here that night. 8)
-
So did anyone catch this on Sunday? I watched it and re-watched it on the DVR again yesterday. It looks like you can watch the full episode on adult swim.com (http://www.adultswim.com/video/?episodeID=8a2505951d8bc25a011d9d893281011c) as well. Good special, I really enjoyed Fett's recounting of how he ended up in the Sarlacc.
-
It was funny. I've only watched it once but I was glad that there was only one repeat in it.
-
I think it was better than the first one. I'd have a hard time picking my favorite bit. Palpy and his Ithorian hairdresser was pretty damn funny. The Fett/Sarlacc scene was pretty good too. I'm looking forward to picking this up on DVD.
-
Star Wars Robot Chicken Episode 2 was @ Target on sale for $9.99.
-
I picked up the DVD the other day and highly recommend it! The main feature is about 45 minutes long, with lots of deleted scenes that might even be funnier than what was included in the full episode! For example, they start out with the ANH opening scrawl written in "text talk" by a teenage girl. Then there are a lot of extra scenes involving the bounty hunters, like Zuckuss (voiced by Conan O'Brien) and 4-LOM acting as their own agent and responding to Palpatine's bounty. Then they have Dengar following the Falcon through the Executor's trash in a toilet shaped spaceship. Hilarious stuff and that doesn't even scratch the surface. There's also a TON of bonus features with some cool stuff, like the premiere screening at Skywalker Ranch and a time lapse showing how they do the animation.
-
Here's some links (http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/story/First_Three_Trailers_For_Robot_Chicken_SW_III_135301.asp) to three different trailers for Robot Chicken Star Wars III. Looks pretty good, and I've really enjoyed the first two as well.
-
So did anyone else watch last night? I was really disappointed...i don't think I even laughed one time. A whole hour too...that's pretty weak. Seems like they just completely ran out of gas on this one.
The most interesting thing to me from the whole episode was the scene with Anakin and Palps discussing how he had gotten disfigured. It never even occured to me that this was attributable to Mace Windu reflecting the energy back at him during their fight. I always assumed he just got disfigured from simply channeling all that Dark Side energy through his frail and aging body. I need to go back and watch that scene again I guess.
The Boba Fett stuff just seemed silly.
-
I fell asleep during both airings. The "funniest" part I thought was at the end when the old Anakin spirit was replaced by young Anakin spirit and Obi-Wan says "Special Edition Mother ******" or something like that.
-
I caught it last night as well, and although I did enjoy parts of it (and like Robot Chicken in general), I guess I didn't find it as "laugh out loud" as the previous episodes either. Not too bad though.
-
I thought they did a good job with it. Now for "It's a Trap" on sale tomorrow.
-
I thought it stunk compared to the other two... I laughed at the AOTC fireplace scene where Padme strips and washes R2 yet the fireplace is her "non sex talk" room or something.
-
I like Yarael Poof stuff mainly because it points out how Yoda and Mace just make all the council decisions without any visible input from the others.
Also, Jar Jar Binks' "Yeah, you use'aded me." scene
-
I thought Yaddle trying to blow Poof off was funny too.
It wasn't any, "What the hell's an 'Aluminum Falcon'" funny, but I thought it was ok.
