I finally picked up one of each version of the Cantina Band guys to go with my Max Rebo Set.   They haven't made any more of the musicians have they?

Too bad the new versions don't do that.

Ya know.. modern technology and all.   Parallels the technology change from Ep III to Ep IV doesn' it?

LEGO / Re: UCS Millenium Falcon
« on: October 22, 2007, 04:35 PM »
For $500, I just wish they'd given us SOME interior decor... at the very least the Dejarik section.. all this has is the cockpit and a removable top gun that Luke can fit in.
Very sturdy though- Galen brought his to our last meeting and was able to fly (carry) it around with ease.

I've just gotten my UCS Star Destroyer back together... next is the Tantive IV.... dunno if I'll ever be able to afford this...

I best be off to 7-11 for some lotto tickets!

I got my exclusive version today. Actually, I think it came a few days ago, but I just opened it today. Real nice set. They did a good job on the detail with the womp rats, Rock Wart and Bubo himself. It does make it a little hard to display in the box when it doesn't come in a window box.  :-\ I wish they would stop changing the packaging. Just stick to one kind and use it always.

Open it..... you know you want too!   Looks awesome with all the other Jabbas Palace stuff

Well, I did take it out of the box for a second, but it's all sitting sideways in a plastic shell. I've taken my Jabba and the Throne out of the box twice just to stare at it for a while, but that was about it for me opening Sideshow stuff. The nice thing about their products is that you can open something and put it away and it doesn't look like you've opened it. It's strange though, the Creature Pack has a window and a flap, yet this one doesn't.

I take that back, I've opened all of my 1/4 scale statues except the Vader. I do not want any dust getting on him before I can put him under glass. It's just the 12" figures I don't really open.

I hear ya... I'm just an opener and these 12" figures are even cooler outside the box so I have 'em all on display in Detolf glass cases from Ikea.    I picked up one of the huge display pieces from the WOTC store when it closed that they used to display Chess Sets and that's where Jabba, Bib, Boussh, Jedi Luke, Salcious, and Bubo reside.   What's really cool is that the shelf supports are metal so the Ghoel can attach to one.   I also have my Hasblo Lando Skiff, Gammorean Guard, Threepio, and Glowie Han Carbonite in there as well.   I'll try and get some pics up sometime

The guy in black is Sgt. Doallyn...  Besides Hermi Odle I think he's tops on my list...

I'd honestly love to see some human guards though, both from Jabba's as well as the Cantina and Jabba's SE sequence in Docking Bay 94.  We've all got lots of Greedo's to flesh out the Rodian thugs there, but I'd dig the bushy bearded guy, the dude in the pointy hat, and the guy in the billowy shirt and vest with a cap.  Random humans like that kick ass I think, and my cantina and palace are starting to look TOO alien these days.

Jesse, I think the guy in black is actually Bane Mallar- Sgt Doallyn has a lighter spacesuit on

This does look cool, but I really cant help thinking this is a missed opportunity, I mean we all know how the Clone Wars end, who lives in the series etc. Why they didnt do this series in the Old Republic is a mystery to me, it would have been filled with so much potential for some truly great stories and NEW characters. Clones Wars should have been Tales of the Old Republic, still I can hope, if this takes off maybe they will make something like it.

I kind of agree with this. I would have much preferred if it was a storyline they didnt do, i mean we di dhave the clone wars cartoon. I still wish it was shadows of the empire.

I'm just waiting for them to pick up on the fact that this is a PERFECT opportunity to round off the Shadows of the Emprire storyline and give us an animated movie!

Jeff

I am glad i am not alone with this.

You're not!   At CIV, I was sitting in the front row of the last of the Clone Wars preview sessions and I had my hand up during the q&a to ask about the possibility.   The moderator kept looking at me, then picked someone else... said "we'll get to you" and never came back :-(

I could go without coins or holo mini figures.  Instead of that, I'd rather they include an additional accessory that is useful for the figure, an alternate head (with a different facial expression), etc.

Or just drop the price point!

Madcow,
I didn't see any of the WOTC CMG Chewies... do you need those?

Okay, got my 15-20 day notice on this, now I got to think about how to display it. Should I drag out my Hasbro 12" R2, 3PO and Chewy, or should I keep it "all Sideshow" and put my commandos around it like they're kicking back, taking a break.

I dunno.... I've been mixing mine up- have the commandos on the shelf with my 3 12" speeder bikes and endor Han, have the Hasblo Han/Carb (glowy) in with my SS Jabba scene...   I'm probably gonna take the electronic 3P0/R2 and pick the least worst of the Chewies for it....
