I saw the link on the MMMV & pounced immediately on the BBTS offer & although I'm sceptical whether I'll actually get them it cant hurt trying  :)

If anybody is interested BBTS are also offering the Spinner as well which isn't a bad deal for what is a quite beautiful bit of kit . http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/search.aspx?search=blade+runner

Weak chases on the TS3 set, looks like adult Andy and Buzz with some other accessory.

Although you almost need a magnifying glass to see it , chase Buzz does have a different look in his eyes which may well be a misaligned tampo . The accessories are his wings which are fixed on the non-chase Buzz....or perhaps stuck ?

Karamazov80 .......now where have I seen that name before? ;D  Aren't you the Cosbaby fan?

To answer your question ........first realise that regards English language conventions ,British English is fundamentally different to American English. The use of  the double inverted commas ,"" ,are, for example ,used in both quotation & speech displays in American English whereas in British English they are (or should be) used in speech displays only . Whilst that is not absolutely relevant to your question it is of course essential to emphasise that the notation of each of our languages in their respective written forms may differ. My use of the single inverted commas ,in this instance the word 'friend' ,is another convention known as 'scare quote' which is simply a way of using a word although distancing oneself from its dictionary/thesaurus definition by placing the word within single inverted commas.  I used the word friend in such a manner to emphasise that the person sending the items is obviously a friend although in the eyes of the customs authorities he is an anonymous sender of items & not a retailer or an accomplice.  Check this out ......especially the last 3 words which undoubtedly refer to me http://www.informatics.sussex.ac.uk/department/docs/punctuation/node31.html

I hope that 'helped'  ;)

A tactic for buying from US retailers is to get them to send  the items to a friend's address in the US.  The 'friend' is not committing any fraudulent act as he/she is under no obligation to know the value of the 'gift' that he/she is sending subsequently to the UK .

I'm in the UK & although I'm just a lurker I buy most of my stuff from the US,Japan & HK/China. Whether my opinion is worth anything being a newbie & all  ;)  but you should also consider 'HM Customs' who often tend to charge import duty on high cost 'declared' items from the US yet tend to turn a blind eye to virtually everything I buy from HK/China & Japan. Until you get stung you tend to dismiss this as 'happening to someone else' but can often add up to a fair sum of money. Just saying.

I think you'll find that's because the Asian sellers lie on the customs form where as US sellars often don't.

Does the import of kubricks into the US  from Japan attract US import duty?

I've found Hong Kong sellers the cheapest for postage followed by Japan and then the states. It really depends on what you're buying of course .

Thanks, I'll bare that it mind. I'd just seen single figures from the states with postage at £17 which I thought was a bit extreme.

Well based on this evangelion auction it looks like the chases have the same part the non-chase figs have.

Bearing in mind that I was the buyer .....the part is identical. The chase figure is well worth the extra bucks.....for a change ;)

All this patch/no patch stuff sounds like errors to me...

Of course that is absolutely what I have ......no more than a factory error of the McQ/Johnston Boba Fett ::)   You'll hopefully excuse my question asked in the previous post but I was pretty confused there for a minute. The McQ/J Boba Fett seems to be a rarity (singly & loose) on ebay & it is pretty ironic that I now have to search for a normal 'normal' when I've secured all the chases :-[

Newbies / Finally made it here.....
« on: July 15, 2009, 10:46 AM »
Hello.... is a good place to start. I've lurked for some time now & as my Star Wars kubrick collection has grown so has my interest in them. That may sound a bit odd but being mainly a Minimate fanatic my kubrick collection has always been a bit neglected. Not so anymore .    I don't profess to be an authority on kubricks although I have more than a few & the Star Wars series is by far my favourite.  I love the Minimate line but that will be the last I mention them here ......unless prompted ;)   I'll also apologise for my inaugural post in the kubrick Boba Fett Collection thread which was purely my impatience for knowledge :) Sorry about that!

All the best buttheadsmate.

Maybe double check what you're looking at.

The Johnston/McQuarrie Fett shouldn't have pockets at all.

Every image I've seen shows one pocket & the carded 'McQ/J' I have has one pocket .  The McQ/J is identical to the McQ apart from the head .....mine is anyhow.

.....& the extra pocket  ;)

Hello to you all. I will introduce myself formally another day but I need to ask a question . I have the carded set of these & have just recently received 8 of the 9  'boxed' versions (ebay). Whilst photographing them I was comparing 'loose' with 'carded' because they are exactly the same ...right?
Wrong!  My 'loose' version of 'Johnson & McQuarrie' has a 'patch pocket' on each of his front thighs whilst the carded has just one on his left thigh. The picture on the box & the card shows only one pocket.  This figure is still sealed in its kubrick cellophane & my question is..........."Is mine the only one, have I gone nuts or am I missing some info ? " ::)  If I could suss out how to post the picture I 'll do so later if there is any interest. Thanks bhm.
