What is that green goo on his sholder's suppost to be?
-
green goo on his shoulder?....probaly just the factory paint coming off....and if you mean the sculpting compound "greenstuff" that would be a WIP of his armor.
thanks for the comment , M_P ,

Oh ok. I not familure with the base figure. Did you paint the camofague? Do you have a reference shot or is this one fan fic?
-
I ripped my ref. from the game , 1ll 67 of them ;D . , heres one that google turned up http://www.techspot.com/reviews/games/quake4_preview/weve_got_a_marine_down.jpg
and for the base figure , all I used was one of those cheap-o power teaem elite figures. ..Highly articulated , and cheap. 3 dollars for 3 of them and accessories.

EDIT whoops forgot to answer this ...no I didn't paint the camo ...he came like that , they also have desert versions , and rangers that have "cowboy" hats...the guy I used is from the Marine set.

I see what your gunning for. It's a very ambitious project. I can see how the armor is going to look now. What are you going to do about the helmet?
-
oh.. well...alot of marines didn't have helmets , "Anderson" in particualr , but that pic I grabed from google is just one of the better looking pictures... heres a picture of a medic w/out a helmet : http://data1.blog.de/blog/s/shamino/img/Quake-4-RhinoSquad-2.jpg
the one with the white / red armor is a medic. There are a few medics that did have helmets...one who was dieing and a few others that aren't in your squad (rhino squad)
I was thinking , rather than making a medic , making a regular trooper , with the helmet or without....

Very cool project, the sculpting looks pretty good so far. Are you going to sculpt all of the armor or are you going to use "greeblies" for some of the other armor?
I've got a few of those "Power Team Elite" 3 3/4" figures and they're definitely not bad for that price. My experience with them is that their arms are prone to snapping. Maybe I'm too rough with 'em...

yeah.. I found that the feet love to come out of their joints , and , no I didn't add any little bits and pieces...all of it is sculpting.(oh..by the way..as of sculpting for 2 hours last night...sculpting is done...I might need to re-visit some details...but mroe or less..he's done.)
thanks for the comments ,
