Title: Star Tours Question
Post by: Reid on July 20, 2006, 09:46 AM
I have a question for those of you that have recently been to Star Tours. Me and my family are going to LA in early August for vacation, and will probably head over to Disneyland for a one-day excursion. I am hoping to pick up one or two of the Star Tours Exclusive Figures. Do they have the entire series? Or just the latest wave?

Last time I was there, approximately a few months ago, they only had the latest wave.  I don't think they ever repackaged the first ones into saga packaging, so you're probably out of luck there.  Also, the figures they have on the shelves are probably droids that are only found overseas, and not in the anaheim version of the attraction.  hope that helps...

I haven't been up there in a while, but if you PM Master Phruby I'm sure he can help you out.

I read in our SC store report section was that DL didn't have any more ST left and when asked they weren't getting anymore. I think Hasbro also commented that the last wave released on OTC card is the last produced, that they are done. Sorry for the doom and gloom but it's all I can comment with.

Damnit. I was really looking forward to picking up one or two ST exclusive figs. Does DisneyLand have any other Star Tours swag available? Posters, shirts, StarSpeeders, etc? I'd like to know soon, as I'm leaving for LA saturday evening.

Hunter they have all sorts of cool stuff there.  I was there maybe 2 weeks ago, and will be there on this Sunday.  They had a pretty cool looking Yoda backpack, t-shirts, starspeeder-in 2 different sizes I think.  All sorts of little odds and ends I've never seen anywhere else.  Then you've got the stuff that you can find at Target for double the price.  I was lucky and scored my first VTSC scout trooper there when VTSC had first dropped-little pricey though  :-\.  If you're lucky they might be stocked with good figs, or like last time I was there all there was was and army of Saga 2 Chewbaccas.  The Yoda/Mickey combo if kinda cool.

Thanks for the info guys. Just got back from LA, and while I was in DL, I picked up a StarSpeeder 3000 (The smaller $5 pull-back one, not the larger boxed $20 one) and a Jedi Academy Pennant.

i did look at it. they look ok...more like toys then anything real. i think they are only 20 bucks though.  i did see a box you can buy that lets you build it from a kit. the build your own lightsaber is in the downtown disney section in the toystore...i dont remember what it is called but it has a giant stitch (from lilo and stitch) on the roof spitting water.

it is in the middle of the store. it has just about the most sw stuff, except maybe for the gift shop in the star tours ride...the outside is really cool, it has an at-st and a speeder bike, and an ewok village looking item next to the ride.

the star tours ride is pretty dumb, but if you get there when they open, there will be no wait, and when we went we got passes so we didnt have to wait for most of the popular rides. (i think if you make the first ride of the day you get that pass because we got it 2 days in a row)

the pirates of the Caribbeans is probably the best ride of all rides there, and the disneyquest in downtown disney (which is not included in the package deal, 40 bucks per person after tax) is not worth the admission. they say there is no wait for anything but there is. they only had 2 cool things, the pirates 3d ride and the virtual reality aladin thing is cool.

they had a lot of the older figures, like the greedo saga, the with the older style card....

overall it was pretty cool, if you go to epcot, and you get motion sickness, the space ship ride next to the test track will definitely make you ill. my wife and i felt sick for about 1 hour after it, and i dont even get motion sickness (usually)

anywho, have fun

I'll be in Disney in three weeks.  I'm looking forward to the build your own saber even if it is just the same as the Kits sold at retail.

I'm also leaving for Disney soon (on Jan 1).  I told the kids about the Build your own lightsaber and they were both pretty excited!  We are very much looking forward to this whole trip.
