Title: JediDefender Fantasy Basketball 2014
Post by: Morgbug on September 29, 2013, 12:38 PM
League ID #35807
password: berry

Would be great if some new players joined up for this so we have a bigger league than five guys.  8-10 would be great.  This is the sport I got my introduction to in fantasy sports so I'll vouch for it being a good way to break into the wacky world of fake sports management.

Draft is set for 8:30 CST Thursday October 24

Okay.

But I cannot find a way to enter our league number in the join custom league page at Yahoo anymore.  Hate that stupid update they did a month ago.

Link?

Quit your moanin' and complainin'.

Who didn't come back from last year?  I didn't play anything but baseball with you people for a couple years.

We only had 5 last year... which means that I didn't even get a trophy for that 1st place finish.

Cornballers was the team we had last year but not this year.

That's Travis right?

Okay I got a dental school friend to join us. I've played with him in another league for a few seasons.  Send an invite to Pete here:

Can we send an invite to two of my buddies? We're currently doing a Yahoo Fantasy Football league together so they know the system and these guys are super hardcore NBA fans so they might be interested. If Dressel's friend and these guys all join then that puts us at 8 teams.

I'm all about it, better to have 8 to 10 teams if possible.

Brent?

Thanks Matt for finding a plus-one.

You're welcome. The Canadian appears blissfully unaware of the latest recruits needing invites. I couldn't find another way to sign up with the league number and password since the website update.

I sent him a PM... hopefully he see it.  If it gets to tomorrow with no word I'll see if I can email him through the other leagues.

Tell your friends to try to sign up by joining an existing league and using:

League ID:  35807
password:  berry

I don't know if that'll still work.... but it used to work.

Can you link me to the screen where it lets you do that? I do not see it anymore since the update. It may not exist.

Try this

http://basketball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/nba/signup

Edit... that doesn't seem to work... that was the page but when I hit 'join a league' it takes me to something that looks more like an option to create one.

I think we'll need Brent for this.

Yup. Well, depending on when he shows up we may be able to get teams signed up. It's already tight and getting less likely.  There's always the option to push the draft off.

Last date I can move the draft to is next Monday night.  Let me know if that needs to be done.

Sorry, on the road for the last week at conferences and not checking much of anything not work related.

I'd rather have the draft tonight if everyone can get signed up today.

You got all three from the last page in addition to Matt?

I'm in. Thanks Brent.

I can't make the draft tonight but I don't have a problem with an auto-draft, as long as everyone promises not to pick Kevin Durant.

Yup, I got them all and sent the email around 11:00 P.M. last night.  So not as much time for notice as would have been best but they did get out.

We're at six as of right now with Virex signing on, others hopefully will get in there soon.  Ruiner hasn't signed on I don't think.  Unless I hear otherwise here I'll leave the draft for tonight.  Not sure if I'll be there or not either but I'll continue to check through the day today until about 6:00 CST.

I'm in. Thanks Brent.

Shouldn't be an issue for me; I tend to draft at or near the bottom 90% of the time now anyway.

Yup, 7 is sufficient.  Hopefully we get a few more between now and then.  Might actually have to think beyond an all-star team for a change.

My buddy Eric is out but I haven't heard from my other buddy Lonnie yet. He's probably out too, but we should be set for a decent league regardless.

I can pretty much guarantee he's out.  We drafted last night.

My team is so sexy.

Scott's team sucks donkey balls as usual.

That's really all you missed.

You didn't hear about the expansion draft?  He gets to pick 3 players from your team, and everyone else gets to give him one player of their choice.

I'd take that bet.  Bench Rose, Davis, and Leonard and let's see if you finish anything other than dead last.

I still think I'd finish in the middle of the pack at least, but the fact that you can't see how is why I am going to win the league.  You didn't track the preseason I reckon.  I think I could have 6 of next season's top 25 picks.

I have Davis in my other league that I joined this year.  I took over for some other jackass who sucked and Davis was the only decent keeper I had going in.  That season is just about over.

He's out 4-6 weeks. It could be worse.  You should have him for the last 3 months. I took him first in my dental school 12 team league and I think my team is deep enough to absorb the hit and stay in first place till then. I have Beal out there too, but I have Drummond, Hawes, Cousins, Batum and Hayward all playing pretty well and a solid cast of characters under them.

Yeah, but the team was already bad to begin with.  It's going to take me a year or two to get it up to par.  I managed to grab Al Jefferson in the draft, and I think he's keeper level stuff, but I'm going to have to find some up and coming superstars to get into serious contention with this team.  This is the one where the commissioner set the draft for 15 seconds per pick and didn't tell anyone.  ******.

By the looks of things on stat tracker, congratulations are in order for Virex. Well done sir, after that rocket out of the gate I didn't think you'd hold on, but well done.

You're still a prick though  :-*

Thanks fellas! I didn't think I could maintain that lead either, but my core group of guys stayed injury-free pretty much all season long and that may have been the difference.

And Ricky Rubio, of course. Couldn't have done it without him.
