Celebration IV: Los Angeles / Celebration IV JD Gathering! When?
« on: April 24, 2007, 01:38 PM »
So guys, when are we getting together for drinks (As I recall Jesse said a round was on him--I'm holding him to it ;)) and socializing with at Hooters?

Any locals know where the nearest Hooters is, or what not?

Cheers!

Watto's Junk Yard / Math help learning programs?
« on: January 18, 2007, 05:04 PM »
I know several of you guys are well schooled, and have various degrees and other certificates, and I know those are hard to get. Part of the reason I haven't pursued any form of school is because every degree I've had my eye on requires me to take courses in Math, and if high school was any indication, (failed Math 2 times, and scraped by the regents exam with a grade of 69) it's going to be a real problem for me, and probably embarrassing for me to go into a class with very limited math knowledge.

My question for you is if anyone here has as much trouble with Math, and has found a solution, be it an online program or a book, or some other thing to help me? I'm starting to seriously consider "growing up" and some sort of school (as unwanted as it is for me) will help in the process.

Thanks for your time guys,

Kevin

Watto's Junk Yard / Movie Running Times: Your thoughts?
« on: July 10, 2006, 11:53 PM »
With movies like King Kong, Superman Returns, and Pirates of the Caribbian 2 out latley, it seems like more and more people are complaining about the running time of new pictures.

With the price of movie tickets quite high ($9.75 here), I myself find it much better to pay that price and get two and a half hours of entertainment, rather than have a short movie, at such a price.

What are your thoughs on the running times of these big new blockbuster films?

So, my favorite movie is The Boondock Saints. I get a phone call from my friend telling me that there is a one night only showing on May 22nd, for The Boondock Saints. I thought he was busting my balls. Now, holding the ticket and checking the Regal Cinema's website, I find it is truth!

I'm so excited about this. So has anyone else had the chance to see a movie they liked, but never got to see on the Big Screen the first time around, on said Big Screen?

What's not confirmed but rumored is that the show will have comic character Quinlan Vos make an appearance. Jedi Master Vos was spared a grisly death in "Revenge of the Sith." Lucas had a scene depicting his death on Kashyyyk storyboarded, but he spared the character at the last minute. (The comics show him escaping the clonetroopers and later having a newborn son while in hiding.) Will he play a prominent role in the TV series or is it a fan's hope? Expect more news to trickle out from Lucasfilm's presentation at the San Diego Comic Con in July.

Nice, hope it's true!

Watto's Junk Yard / Kevvo's; no more.
« on: November 6, 2005, 08:58 AM »
I guess since I'm insured, and have the rights to the place, I can let the cat out of the bag!

I'm opening my own buisness, a sub shop, right in town here, all on my own. It's going to be called Kevvo's and it's going to have a large variety of sandwiches, soups, and salads. Were also looking into what kind of fryer we can have in the place, so I can do wing specials, and other deep fried goods.

I'll be open 6 days a week, Tuesday through Sunday!

I'm very excited as this is my first buisness venture, save my charity haunted houses I do each year!

Just yesterday I opened my checking account, got the place insured, and rented it out. Then I went and looked at what appliances I'll need, and ordered in a refridgerator with a large freezer for the place.

Monday I'll be scurrying around the county obtaining my permits and what have you.

Well, I thought I'd pass on the good news to all my friends here!

Eat at Kevvo's! ;)

Feedback / Ryan's (pka Sith Lord Chaos) feedback
« on: September 2, 2005, 12:27 AM »
I'd like to start this thread on a posative note, so I will!

Ryan hooked me up with 3 harder to find figures (Shocktrooper, and 2 Green Gunners) at cost. Shipping was great, and he even packaged the accesories seperate so they wouldn't get mixed up.

I recomend Ryan! ;D

Well, over at the other site they have an article posted about a new clone 5 pack. Read on:

Need more Clone Trooper figures? Of course you do!
We've gotten word of another set of Clone Troopers coming out in a special boxed set 5-pack.

"Clone Attack on Coruscant" includes 4 white clones with gray shoulder pads and a blue commander that is reportedly similar to the Commander Bacarra figure. This set comes with a cardboard insert of the side of a gunship with the door open and the figures are positioned like they're ready to jump out of the door.

*: Additional reports describe this set as one of the new series of Battlepacks and that the figures ARE articulated and can be posed in totally different poses.

This may be a Target exclusive, but no official word on that just yet.

Hot damn! It's like Christmas came early this year!

Credit to Vator for this article.

Watto's Junk Yard / Star Wars 2006 Movie Poster Calander
« on: June 22, 2005, 03:43 PM »
Anyone else have this yet? I've not opened mine up yet, but I got it as a birthday gift from a certain lady in my life. Anyway, it looks pretty cool. It even has the Revenge of the Jedi poster included on the calander.
