the other chase will be a bloodied plane crash Harrison Ford... the force is strong with that one.

Not the same injury but you reminded me of this.

Different type of minifigure than kubricks, but it got a chuckle out of me and is very cleverly done.

Clone Wars went on for what 5 -6 years and.... yeah, I like your optimism ;)

Also making Sabine a chase - Cruel. What are you, Lego?

Good call on the speeder. I wanted to move away from DX because we get an extra chase instead of just big, expensive half empty boxes but it's all a pipe dream any way.

I didn't realise BB-8 was half the size of R2 (which in kubricks is not very much to scale) so I'm going to move it to an accessory for it's 'owner' sort of like that crappy hovering droid that came with the black pauldron sandtrooper in DX 3.

That opens up a new slot and I'm going to put in old man Han Solo.

Regular Figures
_ Kylo Ren - 1:12
_ New Stormtrooper - 3:12
_ Finn - 3:12
_ Rey - 2:12
_ Poe Dameron - 2:12
_ Old Man Han Solo - 1:12

*BB-8 is an accessory included with one of the above kubricks.

Chase Figures
_ Finn in Stormtrooper Uniform - 2:48
       - Found in regular Finn Box
_ Chrometrooper w/ cape - 1:96
       - Found in Stormtrooper box. 1 per master case, but only 1/2 of master cases contain him
_ Old Luke - 1:96
       - Found in Rey box. 1 per master case, but only 1/2 of master cases contain him

Any suggestions. I prefer making Luke a chase. I feel like Solo has a bigger on screen role in this movie and I have no idea who or what Andy Serkis is playing he could be playing a Gonk Droid.

...In that case yes, make it a Gonk Droid.  :D

Guys, I plan to finalize my Kubrick display around June/July, so rest assured that once I have finalized my collection, Medicom will announce something new to make me redo everything.  Trust me, we'll have the new ones announced by August.   ;)

Lol. We're going to hold you to that. Pics please when you're done.

It does seem that Medicom does still hold Star Wars license as they're still releasing various action figure, haven't seen and be@rbricks in a while though, but I'd be stunned if we saw any more kubricks.

... But to rub salt in to our collective wounds here's what I imagine we'd see if they did a series 11 for The Force Awakens (none of that DX business):

Hypothetical Series 11 - The Force Awakens - December 2015:

Regular Figures
_ Kylo Ren - 1:12
_ New Stormtrooper - 3:12
_ Finn - 3:12
_ Rey - 2:12
_ Poe Dameron - 2:12
_ BB-8 - 1:12

Chase Figures
_ Finn in Stormtrooper Uniform - 2:48
       - Found in regular Finn Box
_ Chrometrooper w/ cape - 1:96
       - Found in Stormtrooper box. 1 per master case, but only 1/2 of master cases contain him
_ Don't know, maybe whoever Andy Serkis character is or a returning OT cast member like Luke - 1:96
       - 1 per master case, but only 1/2 of master cases contain him

Man, I know it's not going to happen but I really need some of those The Force Awakens stormtroopers in their various incarnations as kubricks in my life.

Kubricks / Re: So is Medicom killing the Kubrick Star Wars line...???
« on: December 16, 2014, 09:29 PM »
At the very least if there turns out to be no Ep7 Kubricks we can all stop holding our collective breaths for news on any new Kubricks and accept the series as dead.

I'm pulling these figures out of the air but at this stage I'm betting on 60/40 there will be Ep7 Kubs. 60% yes, because they would be mad not to get in on that merchandising bonanza and 40% no, because the last couple of years have shown us Medicom aren't interested in putting out new Kubricks.

Medicom NEVER lost the Star Wars licence. They have stopped making any kind of Kubricks. Most likely because bearbricks are cheaper as they're just repaints.

Yeah, they've still been pumping out the SW be@rbricks in the last two years, the last one was the Jango/Boba 2-pack if I recall, and maybe even RAH's.

I'm sure be@rbricks are much cheaper to produce than kubs and in that case I'd happily take a bunch of repaint kubricks from Medicom if that was the choice between something or nothing. They could do a box set of x-wing pilots and just reprint the face and helmet.

But maybe it's not down to cost. Pure conjecture, maybe the DX line, which tried to take things in a different direction, didn't do so well.

Kubricks / New Be@rbrick Wicket & Romba and Paploo & Teebo 2-Packs
« on: March 23, 2014, 10:28 PM »
As per Medicom's update:

These don't appear to be limited like the previous box sets. That's the fourth 100% Wicket and third Paploo. I'm going to dub these the derp face variants.

I only bought the Celebration Japan 2-pack because it was cheap and I wanted Wicket to go with the other five. I can pass on these.

Here's the previous be@rs for reference:

Did any one get this?

Jesus, I don't know if I would have pounced on it but at that price I would have given it serious consideration. I think it was on ebay all of 1 1/2 hours.

Not that this is any great surprise but the 2014 Winter Wonder Festival was held in Japan on Sunday and no Kubricks were to be seen let alone Star Wars.

These are Medicom's list of exclusives for the event and yet again no carded exclusive to be found, repaint or otherwise.

Here are pictures from Medicom's booth from the event provided by be@rbrickmania.

I'd take the demise of SW Kubricks and Kubricks in general with more ease if Medicom just released those Ghostbusters *sigh*

No real surprise but nothing new in this months update.

Kubricks / Kubrick Prototypes
« on: August 16, 2013, 02:28 AM »
Has anyone every seen a kubrick prototype before? One that's for sale?

I haven't. And it just happens to be the prototype for one of the harder to come by and most sought after Star Wars kubricks around.

This has got to go for big dollars, right? Or am I making too big of a deal about this?

This is pretty unique.

More vintage homages is a direction I could live with, like the recent DX4 and carded Tie Pilot. Off the top of my head I'm not that familiar with the vintage figures so I thought I'd throw together a couple of comparisons.

Yak face

A repaint could easily be done, it's subtle but different. Kind of like the series 7 Anakin chase and the vintage repaint that was put on a card.

I only just noticed now that Yak face doesn't have regular kubrick hands.

Walrus man

A plain body with basic colours like Hammerhead's with a Walrus head.

Another almost too easy one is Greedo. Just remove the vest and orange and replace with two shades of green.
