Gentle Giant / Re: Bust Ups!
« on: April 28, 2005, 11:00 AM »

I found mine at a local Borders bookstore.  May want to check there. Waldenbooks is affiliated, they may have them also.  Look around mine wasn;t in the SW section, but the regular comics TPB section.

Can you give me the ISBN# on the box boba?

Here you go:
Crimson Empire set:
ISBN 1-59617-036-0
Clone Wars set:
ISBN 1-59617-030-1

First off, my bad, because I can't remember now which one I got at Borders and which at my local comic store.  I'm very sorry if I sent you on a goose chase.  The crimson Empire may have been the comic book one, and the Clone Wars may have been the Borders one.

If you're interested, send me an email, if you can;t find one, I think my local comic shop in Pgh. may have a set that he may be able to send you. I could forward the info along and I'll try and help you out any way I can.

It was posted, but I've met a lot of the vintage guys in years past. Thurs. A couple of the guys asked me if I was going.  Bill Cable and I do a ton of stuff with the PSWCS every year, and I've met guys like Todd Chamberlain, and some of the vintage guys through the years.  They had a big cardback sale last year that was HUGE.  I try to buy a few neat pieces every now and then.

Here's a few things I grabbed:

Micro Machines Rebel Soldier 4up:

Micro Machines vintage BD TIE unused box flat:

I also grabbed a Hasbro approved proof sheet of the UK POTF2 Luke Jedi Deluxe.

Celebration III: Indianapolis / Hasbro Booth at CIII
« on: April 27, 2005, 01:17 PM »
Big thumbs up to the Hasbro booth.  Very nice PROFESSIONAL display area.

Attacktix-luv these things(I'm digging the chromes right now have about a doz.), and I love the fact the kids were into them also.  Fun watching everyone playing this.

Miniatures- (not sure if it's technically Hasbro or not)  The bigger guys like the ATAT, ATST, Bantha etc. WOW!

CCG, have faded away for me, seemed like the CCG area was a shadow at the show.

Figs-Where to begin.  The M&M's are a must have for me! Love those guys, and excellent packaging.  500th Vader-once again neat idea with the chamber package.

Handouts were nice, poster, Attacktix from the Wal-Mart tent slaes, and Mini nautolan were nice little additions to the freebie bag.

Figs, just look great!  The Titanium series really looked good displayed under the lights, gace this a second thought and may go back and try and snag these..  (the exclusive gold Titanium exclusive with "Indianapolis 2005" on the side ROCKS!)

Very nicely done.  Only thing I was hoping for (and I probably just missed it) was last time they seemed to have more crowd interaction-molding figs, artists signing cards.  I enjoyed getting the Unleashed cardbacks signed in San Diego, was hoping for more of this type of stuff in Indy.  Those little touches are what make the whole experience "exclusive" in my opinion.

No, I noticed that too.  I think there was about 5 people that officially ran the show and actually got paid in real money for this weekend (and right now they're in a meeting deciding which Island to buy with thier loot), 15,000 other people working the show were volunteers and got paid with an autograph and T-shirt. ;^)

I'm jealous, wish I would have thought of that years ago.

...and people complain about sweat shop labor overseas, heh, there was a whole convention full this weekend right in Indy.

On another bust-up note, anyone notice that GG threw out a couple 2005 Toyfare exclusive Boba Fetts????

They put out about a dozen or so on Sat, and I asked if they had anymore, he said they only brought a few that wee left over.

I think they did the same with the Mace Windu minibust, (although they were selling that, the Fett was a freebie)

Other Collectibles / Re: Attacktix
« on: April 25, 2005, 10:15 PM »
Someone earlier in this thread asked about the ratio for the chromes.

I always heard 2 chromes per case-from everyone.  Then I got to talk to one of the Hasbro guys and he said well, yeah pretty much, but technically no, you may find some different numbers, blah blah, VERY wishy washy answer, so now I'm wondering are they putting more in or are they going to put less in, or maybe swithching to random??????  (I don;t think it really says anything specific on the packaging or anything)

So, feeling it out,  I told him I grabbed one of the firts Vader chromes way back on ebay, asked me how much and then he said "Oh yeah, I expect that to be a steal, these should go even higher, and just smiled. ???????

I was more confused AFTER talking to this guy than BEFORE I talked to him.

I still love this line.  Had fun watching people play when I walked by the tables.

Back to Pittsburgh about 11:30 PM hit some snow on 70, but wasn;t sticking and wasn;t too bad, some other PA folks headed further north and I guess the Lake effect snow was pretty bad.

Here are 3 REALLY tough pieces:

The Hard Rock pin is limited to only 300 sold in 23 min. AT the Hard Rock.

The Titanium gold X-wing has "Indianapolis 2005" on each side of it (I heard 100 made, then I heard 250 later in the day???)

My Stormtrooper pin was #30 of 300 (numbered on the back lower right corner.

Didn't have too many long waits in line until the Lucas presentation, holy crap, only had a long sleeve shirt, freezing cold rain at 4:30 in the AM.

I feel like crap, but having a blast.  Everyone is in the room, kinda drunk right now putting all the vintage figures in obscene positions.  Me...I just want to go to bed.

I'll add to that!

I hope that all the SW geeks don't go running off at the mouth that this movie sucked or anything (I don't think it will, but even if it did)

It's our hobby, don't screw it up.   THINK.  Even the prequals are better than just about anything that comes out of Hollywood these days, and the media/Hollywood/critics/etc. are just waiting to bash this one....YET AGAIN.

Go out with a bang, tell everyone it's the greatest movie you've ever seen.

Many will disagree, but we owe that to the hobby we hold so near and dear!

Why do I have a feeling they'll turn the bust line into a "raffle" ticket ordeal?

I hope not.
