Voting for a 4 pack
« on: May 3, 2004, 07:08 AM »
I was away for a while and hopefully this topic has not come up, I apologize ahead of time if it has...

we have now seen quite a few 4 packs come out in the past year, why couldn't Hasbro give us a theme and a list of 20 figures that they would like to re-issue or re-design (hopefully) along with a list of 5-10 pack-ins and we vote the top 4 figures and 3 pack-ins (1 Large, 2 small?)

What do you guys think?????

The recent rerelease poll makes me wish they would do more and more of this...fan polling, hell have Rebelscum do it for them (ala the Simpsons Collectors Sector) and do it for 4 Packs, Vehicles, BEasts, New figures etc etc

Hasbro is horse manure on having their finger on the pulse of the fandom base IMO, they have a total holier than thou attitude in comparison to the one to one interactions I have seen with Palisades, Toy Biz and Playmates.

Fantastic idea Jedirhino!  I think that this is definitely the way to do this.  How about this idea for a Death Star Escape 4-pk...

- CT hooded Leia
- CT R2D2 w/ holo Leia
- CT Stormtrooper Han w/ removable helmet
- Stormtrooper Luke (Han body from Trash Compactor SS) w/out the garbage & removable helmet

- accessory?

 :P

How about a real Skiff Guards pack:

2004 Jedi Luke with damaged hand and new left hand
Repainted Kithaba
Kitbashed Repainted retooled Weequay
Kitbashed Repainted Vintage Nikto

Its stuff like this these 4 packs should be...not crap old POTF2 figures ::)

Hell...how about a 5 pack of repainted Astromechs...OR kitbashed Pilots and Astromechs...OR RFT and Stormies

What does it mean for something to be "kitbashed"?

It sounds violent.

It's basically re-using limbs/etc on older figures in order to make a "new" one... Example - the Han Solo in the Skiff pack.

Good god yes, they need help in deciding what to offer us. A poll would be great.

This must be Hasbro Direct offering these, since they are exclusive. I think it’s a lot to ask for anything more than kitbashing or repaints out of them. It must simply be a financial reality with that group - they don't have resources to do much other than modify existing parts. With that in mind, I'd rather they NOT go about trying to offer any new versions of figures that need a proper carded release.

I'd prefer something much more army builder-ish, like OCB and Nataku mentioned.

Battle of Yavin Astromechs:
- Gold Leader's droid
- Wedge's droid
- Bigg's droid
- R2-D2  ::)
- Accessory: Throw in four of the E1 droid restraints from R2-B1. It doesn't make sense with the wave, but whatever, I want more of those.

Battle of Endor Ewoks:
- 4 randomly repatined Ewoks, duh!
- Accessory: Catapult

Carbone Freeze Chamber:
- Ugnaught 1 repaint
- Ughnaught 2 repaint
- Bespin Guard
- Stormtrooper
- Accessory: Han in Carbonite (from POTF2 Han Carbonite, but filled solid)

Jawa Sandcrawler:
- Gonk
- DS Droid repaint from cancelled Sandcrawler
- Jawa 1
- Jawa 2
- Accessory: ?

Battle of Geonosis Clones:
- SA Clone Yellow (w/ Geonosis dust)
- SA Clone Regular (w/ Geonosis dust)
- Saga Clone Regular (w/ Geonosis dust)
- Saga Clone Pilot (kitbash pilot torso and head with Saga Clone legs and arms)
- Accessory:  ?

I didn't list all the clones as SA versions to keep COGs down.

I like this idea, minus the YELLOW clone.  The yellow clone is only present in clone armies in a 1:2,000 ratio; whereas a green seargent is 1:9 and a blue lieutenant is 1:36.

If a yellow clone were to be included instead of a blue, green, or another white, it'd probably keep a lot of us who pay attention to rank detail within our clone armies from buying multiples.

I am all for the  Clone Trooper 4-pack,but I would make them all SA Troopers.  Something along the lines of this:

1xGreen Trooper
1xBlue Trooper
2xWhite Troopers
Command Center w/two seats and console
various blasters/rifles,binos from yellow Commander 3-pack

Seeing as there are plenty of Red Saga Captains out there and as previously stated the Yellow Commanders ratio is smaller, this breakdown would be ideal,me thinks.  If need be you could always paint some white troopers red or yellow as needed.  I know these would fly off the shelves.  I personally would buy several for my Army building. ;D

Yeah, but Dressel, that's assuming their aren't degrees of command, ie, one dot commander, two dot commander, ect. That's how I built my army anyway.

Yeah, I just like the yellow clone because I think he looks cool. I wouldn't complain about getting any other rank. They'd all be groovy to me.

It just occured to me that I'd also like if they went with the removable helmets on all of them from the Deluxe Clone/Speederbike along with the Bodie Taylor likeness underneath, minus the red eyes.

I think its settled, forget the voting idea. Let's storm Hasbro and take the place over.
