More on the way.  READ ALL ABOUT IT! (http://thejawa.com/nuke/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=983)

edit: I'm going to spilt this topic off for talk of possible wave 4 and beyond...

That's great to hear! What a surprise for them to be doing this in the midst of ROTS. They'd better keep shipping the clone variations, or there'll be hell to pay.  >:(

Not too keen on Walmart exclusives, though.

Hopefully it means we'll get those Armored Obi and Snow Bunny Padme figures we've been waiting for.

Ixzactly.  That would be cool.

As always, looking for help on these.  Walmart exclusive is disconcerting, it will likely be US only as Wally up here has never carried them.

Strange that we're so close to the new season and the DVD release, and there's been so little shown on the actual new episodes. Other than the new look for Anakin, I can't tell you a thing about the show, or any other characters that appear in it. And it makes me wonder:

When are we going to see real Season 3 characters in plastic? This next round?

There's at least 1 more assortment of say 4 figures from Season 1/2 I want (Padme Bunny, Clonebi-Wan, 3P0, Blue ARC) and we have no idea what's cool that could be seen from Season 3. I just hope the line chugs along long enough to deliver everything we want.

I really do still like this line, with the massive exception of the lameness of the clone variant availablitly. Grrrr.

That is great news, and I hope that it is true.  I've always enjoyed this line too (although I haven't found the colored clones yet either), and it would be great to see another wave or two from it.  Surprising we haven't seen or heard anything of them yet.  Hopefully we'll see characters like the ones mentioned earlier....Armored Obi, Snow Bunny Padme, other Jedi, the droids, etc.

Take it with a grain of salt, but The Private Universe (http://books.dreambook.com/tpu/probenews.html) is also reporting news on the further animated figures, also mentioning that Snowsuit Padme, R2-D2, and C-3PO have reached the prototype stage.  Other figures mentioned (at least 3 others they are reporting) are Obi-Wan armor, Luminara, Barris and/or other Jedi or clone repaints.  It would be nice to see these figures.  They are also reporting the possibility of a VPTC line, but that's for another thread :).

Awesome! *gets tingly all over*

Now what would really rock my world is an expansion on the movie-style Clone Wars figures, but I don't see that happening ... ever.... :'(

I could do with a Luminara and Barriss. Also the Underwater Clone would be awesome.

I'm excited about more of these also.  Just curious, are the Red, Blue and Yellow clones that hard to find?  I've fround the red and blue often, but the yellow one only once.

If people are really lookin' for these, maybe I can pick some up.

Never seen any of the clone variations around here.  Lots of Grievous and Anakin.  I cannot wait to hear about the next wave.  Armored Obi or bust.   :)

Good. Hopefully they'll ship more of them damn yellow Clones. I've been to three cities in Iowa looking for those, and all I've found is red and blue. >:(

I am really hoping this is true, as I am a huge fan of these figures.  In the beginning, I didn't know if I'd like the designs, but once the series started in the fall of 2003, I really fell in love with the way the SJ team had interpreted the characters.

I'm thinking that some of the figures will include the "new" versions of Obi-Wan and Anakin from Season III, animated versions of Grievous' Bodyguards, and anything else that is supposed to show up in Season III (which I know nothing about otherwise).

If I don't get a Snow Bunny Padme or Obi-Wan in Clone Armor for this line, though, I'm going to be very disappointed. :-[

Well, it's mid March and we have yet to hear of, and see, anything new.

Who knows, maybe Hasbro will wait until next week to roll out the new stuff while season 3 is on.

Nooooo, don't say that :-\  I'm actually in the States this weekend and it would be a dead perfect time to drop the line in stores.  I'm a little worried all the reprimands floating around are preventing any stock from being put out.  I sure hope not.

Well the next five episodes start tonight and we have yet to hear anything from Hasbro about a Wave 4. I'd be willing to bet that the only thing that's coming is those two three-packs. It would be nice of the ARC in the "good guys" pack was Blue and the Obi-Wan was armored, but the fact that these two sets have all of the same figures, it makes them VERY unappealing.

The only thing I'm finding is E3 stuff that won't ring up at the register!

You know - this reminds me of what happened with the E2 stuff...

Three years ago, WalMart had the POTJ exclusive TIE Bomber and crash-landing Snowspeeder. All of the WalMarts in my area got them in and held them until the Saga stuff hit the shelves since they didn't distinguish between what Star Wars stuff could hit the shelves immediately vs. the stuff they were holding for MidnightMadness.

My guess is that either (a) any new Clone Wars product was scrapped or (b) if it exists and is coming and has shipped, you won't see it until April 2nd.

Pete Fett, I was thinking that 4/2 might hold some Clone Wars surprises also. It would be great, but, honestly, when was the last time new product appeared on the pegs before it showed up online?

Oh totally - that's why I think that any plans to have another wave of animated figures has been scrapped.

Unless they plan on having the figures come out at the same time the Volume 2 DVD is released. My guess is that it will be released sometime between now and the DVD release of ROTS so perhaps there are plans for more figures this summer.

Wow!  Just saw #24!  I don't care how long it takes, but I NEED a figure of that Hammerhead Jedi!

The more I see of this series, and in particular these new episodes, the more I really wish this line would continue.  Maybe its the kid in me, but I just think the micro-series has been great all the way through, and that kids (and collectors) could really get into this type of thing if it was a regular series with a supporting toy line.  It is an avenue I'd like to see them pursue further once the movies are all over and done with.  I agree, I'd really like a figure of that Hammerhead Jedi as well, he was cool.  They could really expand this line.

After watching the last four episodes in Season III (I missed the first one) and watching the DVD on a big-screen television, I really want this line to continue.  The show itself is easily the best EU story that has been associated with SW (I personally find Mace going all Superman on SBDs to be much more fun than reading about Sun Crushers or Luuke or Clone Emperors) at least in my opinion as a bitter *******.

Rewatching Seasons 1 and 2, I realized that they really need to make an Illum Padme, a Clone Armor Obi-Wan, and the droids.  And with Season III, there is just so much stuff they could do.

I'm probably in a minority, but I am actually happier and more interested in the animated figures right now than I am the ones that actually come from the films.  I'm weird though, so take that into consideration.   ;)

You're probably right about the timing there, Pete. While I'd love to see them sooner, I'm not bummed because there's way more than enough to keep us busy until then.

I hope that witht he annoucnement of 30 min installments that we will get more animated style figures

I owuld love Padme, 3PO, R2-D2, Palpatine and all the Jedi

I'm with you evenflow, I hope that this announcement is true.  I'd love to see more of this animated series, and hopefully we'll see some more figures along with it.  Here's a few I wouldn't mind seeing if this line was to continue:

Padme
Clone Armor Obi-Wan
Anakin (ROTS longer hair version)
C-3PO
R2-D2
Palpatine
Jedi-
   -Shaak Ti
   -Hammerhead Jedi
   -Aayla Secura
   -Ki Adi Mundi
   -Kit Fisto
   -Plo Koon
   -the list goes on :)
Clones - more of 'em

Lots of potential with this line.  I know some don't care for it, so I wouldn't want it to necessarily be the main focus, but I personally wouldn't mind seeing a few more waves.  I'm just happy we might see more of the series.

Is anyone expecting these this weekend (the new ones I mean)?  Or is that just a pipe dream?  I suppose no leaks from the Far East makes it rather unlikely.

Yeah - nothing this weekend is definite. Perhaps you might see stores that still have stock of the Wave 3 figures putting them out, but that's about it.

So did anyone hear what became of that wave 4 rumor a month back?  Apparently it was only a rumor.  But with the cartoon continuing I thought more confirmation would of been leaked, especially since this line is indirectly related to ROTS.

Hopefully we will see something at C3....

Something nobody has mentioned is that each wave has at least one bad guy.....Wave 1 Assj...Wave 2 Dooku....Wave 3 Grievous.....Wave 4?

What bad guy could they make?  An emperor would be cool?

I think since Grievous Bodyguards were so prominent in Season 3 that these would be nice...also, can anybody say army builders?

Possible figures:

1.  Ithorian Jedi

2.  ROTS style trooper

3.  Obi Wan in clone armor

4.  Emperor - not my top pick

Over at GH, they have a new feature looking into the future, with Precognitive Droid 42N - TLR filling in for the Galactic Swami.  Take it with a grain of salt, but according to this droid, he sees a Clone Wars animated wave consisting of Luminara Unduli, Barriss Ofee, and Padme coming up.  It would be nice to see this line continue.

Agreed - if there is going to be a Wave 4, these four figures ARE the only logical choices.

I could really go without a Bariss Offee and Luminara Unduli in the animated style, especially since in the episodes that were just aired, I would rather see some different alien Jedi like that Ithorian since he is unique to the animated series before I see animated versions of characters we already have in the main line.

One more thing... even though they didn't mention it in the Swami/4TN-whatever thing, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Blue ARC Trooper in this wave either - typically there are four "new" figures in each wave of these, for Wave 3, Hasbro copped out with the multi-colored Clones. For this wave, I could see them rounding out the wave with either solely packing in a Blue ARC or really messing with us and alternating a Blue ARC and a Green Clone.

All great suggestions guys.

How about an animated version of Qui-Gon Jinn, as seen in Chapter 21? I would love that.
Title: Re: Possible Animated Wave 4?
Post by: evenflow on May 25, 2005, 10:51 PM
I really want more of these. If i could pick the next wave of 4 it would have to be Qui-Gon, Padme, R2-D2, and C-3PO.

Then the next wave would have to be Palpatine, Kit Fisto, Obi-Wan in Clone armor, and random Jedi.
