Title: Errrrrrrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy
Post by: Rob on April 19, 2004, 11:59 AM
The disturbing trend that is the death of popular music has taken another header.

If you can read this all the way through - congratulate yourself on your incredible will power and stamina.

I give you:

Tipsy (Everybody In The Club)
by J-Kwon

[Intro]
Teen drinkin is very bad
Yo I got a fake ID though
Yeeah, yeeah, yeah 2-step with me 2-step with me

[Verse 1]
1, here comes the 2 to the 3 to the 4
Errrbody drunk out on the dance floor
Babygirl ass jiggle like she want more
Like she a groupie and I ain't even on tour
Maybe cause she heard that I rhyme hardcore
Or maybe cause she heard that I ride out the stores
Bottom of the 9th in the series gotta score
If not I gotta move on to the next floor
Here comes the 3 to the 2 to the 1
Homeboy trippin he don't know I got a gun
When it come to pop man we do this for fun
You ain't got one ***** you better run
Now I'm in the back gettin dune by my hunz
While she goin down I'm breakin down what I done
She smokin my stuff sayin she ain't havin fun
Chick give it back now you don't get none

[Chorus]
Now errrbody in the club gettin tipsy
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)
Now errrbody in the club gettin tipsy
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)
Now errrbody in the club gettin tipsy
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)
Now errrbody in the club gettin tipsy
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)

[Verse 2]
2, here comes the 3 to the 4 to the 5
Now I'm lookin at shorty right in the eyes
Couple seconds passed now I'm lookin at her thighs
While she tellin me how much she hate her guy
Said she got a kid but she got her tubes tied
If you 21 girl that's alright
I wonder if a shake comin with them fries
If so baby can I get 'em super sized
Here comes the 4 to the 3 to the 2
She started feelin on my johnson right out the blue
Girl you super thick so I'm thinkin that's koo
??? if so I need 2
Her eyes got big when she glanced at my jewels
Expression on her face like she ain't got a clue
And she told me she don't run with a crew
You know how I do but I guess why I gotta do

[Chorus]
Now everybody in the club gettin tipsy
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsy
Now errrbody in the club gettin tipsy
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)
Now errrbody in the club gettin tipsy
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)
Now errrbody in the club gettin tipsy
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)

[Verse 3]
3, here comes the 4 to the 5 to the 6
I could spend ? I ain't gotta say I'm rich
This single man ain't tryna get hitched
***** waste it on me man son of a bitch
Brushed it all off now I'm back to gettin lit
Grisa orange juice man this some good ish
Homeboy trippin cause i'm starin at his chick
Now he on the sideline starin at my clique
Here comes the 5 to the 4 to the 3
Hands in the air if you cats drunk as me
Club on the set Kwon cut out them trees
Dude I don't care I'm a P-I-M-P

[Chorus]
Now errrbody in the club gettin tipsy
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)
Now errrbody in the club gettin tipsy
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)
Now errrbody in the club gettin tipsy
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)
Now errrbody in the club gettin tipsy
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)

(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)
(Errrbody in the club gettin tipsyyy)

I hate this song.

Should I merge this with my old 'My milkshake bring the boys to the yard' thread?  ???

You're the boss - but after thorough discussion on J-Kwon, I'd planned on adding some information about the Ying Yang Twins and their smash hit "salt shaker"

It's ok for a club song, but I'd recommend not trying to read too much into the lyrics of music like this.  It's often just as shallow as J-Klown (Or whatever TF his name is) has right here.

Beats good, that's all that matters if you're out at clubs dancing.

The photo's classic though, BTW.  Nice to see he got all cleaned up.   :P

White Castle - that's the yankee version of Krystals, right?

Proving yet again that there is a rather large generational gap between members at JD.com... :-*

I dunno who has White Castle's anymore...  :(  All I know is Pittsburgh doesn't.

We got a Steak & Shake though, and I have to say it's not bad eatin'...  Too bad it's on the other side of the city, and gets as busy as any goood restaurant would.

So what are White Castle places anyway?  I know the Beastie Boys sing about them. :)

I'd recommend not trying to read too much into the lyrics of music like this.

It's not even written in the English language - if you can read it at all you're doing pretty well IMO.

White Castle is indeed like Krystals...Small square burgers with holes in them fired with Onion called Slyders

Kevin enjoys various forms of music. Kevin agrees that this song is rediculous. Ranks up there with the 'Milkshake' song. I turn into The Incredible Hulk when I hear that song. It angers me for some ungodly reason.

I don't have any problems with this song.
It's kind of catchy, and I don't see how it's any less "profound" than any other rap song about getting drunk. Gin and Juice? Brass Monkey? Tap the Bottle? Were any of these songs any more meaningful than "Tipsy"?

I think it's more the pronunciation that will get under your skin if you let it. I chose to throw the Ebonics argument out the window long ago, and am able to listen to Chingy or Nelly or J-Kwon without having a fit that they can't pronounce their words the same way I do).

However, now I'm waiting for Cory to see this thread title and chime in on how this song is the sign of the apocalypse or something.   :)

Nope, they're pretty much all complete and total crap.

Well good. At least you're not singling out Tipsy, because:

"Tap the bottle and Twist the cap, then pass it around the crew because da brew be all that"

didn't really strike me as poetic either. In fact, I can't think of any good "getting drunk" songs. Can anyone else?

I thought the secondary messages of banging some 21 year oold who got her tubes tied, girls cheating with this fellow, carrying a pistol to intimidate people at clubs, and otoher nonsense were more "silly" than the lyrics about drinking.

By the way, I can understand it because ***In Best Chapelle Voice***

"I'm from the streets bitch!"

hahaha...  I love Chapelle's Show...  There's a line for everything from it.   ;D

You don't honestly think that J-Kwon or whatever his name is qualifies as either do you?

I can confirm that Best Buy and Tower Records both list this album under "RAP."

So, to answer your question:

Yes.

So you're saying that your knowledge of this topic goes no further than the genre listings of Best Buy and Tower Records?

Thanks.

The Dance section at Best Buy is in the back in the computer area. You can find it by asking (although you know better) a staff member if some peripheral there will work with Macintosh. They really know some sweet moves back there!
