I'll keep the 2009 Great Collector's Challenge pinned for awhile for those who have not posted their damage year end tally yet.

This year starts off with a bang for me, I have already past the $500. US mark & only 4 days in. What's in it for me this year, anything vintage that is eye candy, maybe the odd animated character maqettes (1 on preorder) & animated character keys if any are done this year. SW Kubricks, well you know I can't past them up so that is going to put a hole in the wallet bank account.  :P

I have also been working on my Space 1999 focus so I can see that putting more some more damage "2nd mortage".   ;D

I will have to see what happens before/during C5 & what I can find/get. I can see some $$$$ spent in Orlando.  >:D

Ok, I'm going to try to keep better track again this year after getting off last year.  Hoping to reign things in again this year a bit, and should have some slow months coming up until the "vintage" line is released.  Here's the month of January for me:

January
TLC Figures (Luke Snowspeeder, Willrow Hood, Bespin Guard, R2-X2, Zuckuss) - $38
Marvel Universe Secret Wars Comic Packs (3) - $40

Total for January= $78

I'm doing really good so far. Including December of last year I've had three months in a row in which I've actually MADE money. :)

Wow, nicely done Ryan.

January ended up being a lot pricier than expected:  $365.51.  But I added a lot of Vader stuff last month, including the Code 3 Vader's TIE.  I can thank Brent for stealing my money.  >:(

I'm just waiting for more of your money Jesse.  If it's any consolation I'm taking a lot of people's money these days.

I've been doing surprisingly well for just SW stuff.
January was pretty slim pickings all around for me. I didn't find much new, so I didn't even have the opportunity to buy much. All told I got 6 figures. Nothing else, not ships, no battle packs or comics packs. So with tax I spent just a little over $50.
February is shaping up to be about the same. Only 3 figures purchased at full price and 4 figures at a deep discounted price due to TRU's Pres. Day sale, and one Galactic Heroes pack. Current Feb. tally: $50.

I've budgeted $600 for this year (though I can go over). Given that I still need to catch up on the ANH wave (need Chewie with the Orange droid part) and all but the Black Bespin Guard of the ESB wave, I've got some collecting to do before the summer stuff. But beyond that not much until then. So while there will be a lot of stuff then, I still should be able to stay relative close to my budget, even with the AT-AT, Snowspeeder, and Cloud Car.

February was a little easier on the pockets.  My biggest expense was on an assortment of stands for my Vader bootlegs.

Jan: $365.51
Feb: $153.55

Total: $519.06

Sony Headphones
TLC Ewoks
TLC Rancor Keeper
TLC Willrow Hood ICMG
American Psycho DVD
4GB Memory Card/Mini SD Card
February Total: $95.63

Yearly Total: $183.19

This whole "don't spend money" thing is working out quite well. :D

Probably a consistent theme for a lot of people with all the downsizing of collections evidenced in the bst threads.  I'm up about two grand overall.  Here's what I can recall buying to this point in the year though...

GG snowtrooper bust
GG McQuarrie Vader bust
Kubrick Dlx Series 1 set
Kubrick Dlx red Bib Fortuna
Vintage Collection Dack/Cloud Car Pilot

That's about it for this point.  I'm aiming at getting a few more things...
Kubrick Dlx series 2 set plus both chase figures
GG Animated Slave Leia maquette

I think that should cover it for this year.

I'm not going to get detailed and itemize everything, but I think I've dropped around $2K since July.  Don't think I've ever spent so much on toys in such a short span of time.  Going back to ignoring this thread though so I don't get sad about the sprained bank account.   :)

I should probably stay away from this thread too, because I shudder to think what my annual budget is. Thousands I would estimate.

I don't really have a budget per se, I just try to buy everything as soon as I see it on the shelves. Around here if you blink it could be gone and never seen again. Sometimes it can be a real pain to juggle the $$$, but I can usually find a way to make it work. Just this past week I had to dump most of my TVC Wave 1 figures just so I could scrape up the cash to buy the new TCW Slave 1.

I really wanted to get all the new vintage stuff, even the vehicles, but the cost, and moreso the space considerations, dictate otherwise.

On the plus side, my REAL vintage collection is nearly complete, so I won't have to siphon money off for that much longer.

Few days late but I finally calculated my purchases from December... $1307.41 for 2010, $1600 less than last year! I think what helped me is that I cut back on DVDs, mainly the big TV show sets. Also the smaller amount of Star Wars toys out there helped (so did the summer clearances!)

Nice work Travis. It sure feels good to come in under budget. :)

I SHATTERED my $1500 goal for the year. Instead of spending money I ended up going nearly $2000 under budget and making $489 back on the year. That's the first time I've ever done that since I started collecting back in '96 and '97. I don't know that I can repeat it, but I'm sure glad to have done that well. I probably would have been a bit harder if OT Vintage stuff wasn't hard to come by around me earlier in the year. I was tight on budget the last few months of 2010 so I did end up passing on a few items I really would have liked to have picked up, like the Target Hoth Battlepacks. But in the end I wound up picking up most everything I really wanted this year. :)

January - $38
February - $145
March - $68
April- $8
May- $12
June- $0
July- $36
August - $526
September - $265
October - $0
November - $0
December - $39

2010 TOTAL - $489 Profit  :)
