Vintage Kenner / Re: Where to next?

Some more things to add about tri-logos.
Not every figure was released on a tri-logo card.  The four Cantina creatures as well as one or two others (Death Squad Commander I think) were never found on tri-logos.
The two rarest tri-logo figures are General Madine and Jawa.  No other figure comes close to their rarity.  Emperor's Royal Guard is somewhat hard to find, but nothing compared to Madine and Jawa.

Also, tri-logos were released in the U.S.  I had many as a kid.

A few years ago, Tom Derby put together a complete set of C9+ tri-logos.
I believe he was asking $30,000.

Good luck,
Andy

Vintage Kenner / Re: AFA - Good or Bad?
« on: November 21, 2005, 04:47 PM »
My opinion on AFA used to be neutral, but I have since grown to despise them since they have elected to destroy toys.
I'm talking about ripping open Kenner baggie figures for the pointless "U" designation.   Makes me sick.

Also, they have treated plastic decomposition as figure variants (green limbed chewie, tan limbed Klaatu, etc.) ...
"Authority" indeed.

Chris, here's a good thread about those ROTJ 48 backs.
Shawn Gouty completed his run a year ago.  According to him, the hardest to find are:
1) Ben
2) Luke Xwing
3) Han Solo
4) Stormtrooper
5) Chewy.

Hope that helps,
Andy

Phil Brown (Uncle Owen).  He's super old.
Come to think of it, I just might put him in my regular celebrity dead pool as well.

I can confirm that the sunlight method works extremely well.
I have used it on carded figures as well as baggie figures.

Yikes!  If you buy something from Cloud City, rest assured you are paying top dollar ... and there's no reason to believe you'll be able to flip it for profit.

Congrats on completing your loose collection.
If you're going after carded figures next, I suggest you find a focus.  Maybe a character or even a cardback/offer focus ... something specific.  You'll get lost if you have a general "carded" focus.  Very lost.

Good luck!  :)

Dang!  That display stand was a steal at $900+
The seller should have sold it for $2000 when he had the chance.  They have sold for much more than that in the past.

The guy that tried to get me into Quickscam told me stories of riches and wealth.
He told me he had been doing it for 5 years and that he was just about ready to quit his day job.

Then he got into his 1990 Cadillac and drove home to his trailer park.

There is no right or wrong way to collect.
But there is a right and wrong way to display.  Even small collections can look nice if displayed properly.

My main problem with the RS feature is there's not enough vintage representing.   8)
