Title: Disney Star Wars Toybox Action Figures
Post by: Jeff on October 27, 2017, 03:30 PM
Looks like the rumors are true and Disney is expanding their range of Star Wars action figures and taking another bite of Hasbro's pie.

NEW DISNEY STORE TOYBOX ACTION FIGURES (http://yakfaceforums.com/main/2017/10/27/new-disney-store-toybox-action-figures/) @ Yakface.com

14 points of articulation, accessories, and more.  No word yet on price, but they will hit Disney (retail stores and online shop) exclusively on November 3rd.

All about these. I love the animated look. Only reason I didn't buy any of the Infinity figs was because of how static they were.

Very cool.  I see where these are on ShopDisney.com as well.

Has anyone seen a list with upcoming figures and waves, or have any idea how many of these Disney intends to crank out a year?

Yeah, I stopped at a local Disney store to check these out.  I ended up grabbing the Rey, but left the Kylo Ren and Stormtrooper.

I’m really torn on this line.  I’ve got way too much stuff, so the last thing I need is another line to collect.  I thought the Rey was nice, but the characters with masks (Kylo and Stormtrooper) just weren’t that interesting.

Not sure if I’ll just pick and choose a few from this line, or will end up going back for them all, or just ignore it.  I guess I’ll wait to see what future figures they release in the future waves.  I’d love a Yoda, and maybe Chewie, but I’m not sure how much more I’m going to grab.

I cracked open the Rey this weekend and its a really, really nice figure.  So many points of articulation and the joints are very well constructed.

My seven year old daughter had a blast playing around with it as well.  She asked me to go get a Stormtrooper that Rey could battle with.

Was in Orlando the other day and saw the Tie Fighter (https://www.shopdisney.com/tie-fighter-play-set-star-wars-toybox-1490954) with TIE Pilot there.  Looked pretty cool, but I'm hoping to only get figures and not any ships with this line.

Anybody know if the TIE Pilot figure is going to be offered on a card, or only packaged with the TIE Fighter?   I was able to pass on the Falcon since the Han and Chewie figures were available separately.

Yakface posted this the other day - Poe Dameron with BB-8 is now available via ShopDisney (https://www.shopdisney.com/poe-dameron-action-figure-star-wars-toybox-1523146?pagePath=%2Fsearch&pageType=SearchPage&algorithm=filter%3Afalse%2Csort%3AD-gross_margin&position=3%2C173) and their app.

Based on the echo in here I might be the only one collecting these things...

Curious if this line is going to continue with the new 5" line that Hasbro is rolling out, or how they'll mesh with each other.

I actually really like this line as well, but haven't been able to pick any up for awhile. I try to keep up with the OT ones for sure, but they are all neat. I've grabbed a couple Marvel ones as well, and the Buzz and Woody from Toy Story.

Yakface posted the next four ToyBox figures (https://yakfaceforums.com/main/2019/10/09/new-star-wars-toybox-figures-for-the-rise-of-skywalker/):
- Rey
- Kylo Ren
- Sith Trooper
- C-3PO and R2-D2

It kinda kills me that they've only released 11 carded figures and 2 of the next 4 are new versions of figures already released (Rey and Kylo).  I know this is a Disney kids line, but would it kill them to do an OT Stormtrooper, or at least a main character in a different outfit - e.g. X-Wing Luke?

I'm skipping these even if they go clearance.  I just don't like the aesthetic.

I'm skipping these even if they go clearance.  I just don't like the aesthetic.

It seems to be changing based on these photos.

Originally they were very similar to the Disney Infinity game figures, but seem to have morphed to be stylized very differently.  I'll be interested to see these in person.  If they aesthetic is different with this latest batch I may have to cut my interest in this line.
