Title: Group Project XI - The Rykrof Project
Post by: Master_Phruby on February 24, 2006, 10:01 AM
I mentioned this idea over in Chewie's figure thread but here it is for your consideration. What if we as a group made our own takes on Chewie's Rykrof character? You can make him in any outfit you want as long as it can be identified as Rykrof.

Once we are all done, we can send them to Chewie to include in a photonovel about Rykrof getting cloned and he having to fight his way out of the cloning facility. There could be the twist of do we know if the original Rykroff survives?

What do you think?

That's actually a very good idea. I have like 10 of the Rykrof heads so I'd really like to do that. It's just... there are so many MCC ideas floating around, I don't know which one I'd like to see finished. But if we go Rykrof, I'm in, I'm way in, I'm in so deep that the presure is breaking every bone in my body! lol! ;D

Well I think it's a great idea!!  Of course I'm going to say that though.  But in all honesty, I really am appreciativet that the idea would even come up.  That's very thoughtful Phruby.

If some people want to do that, great - I'd love to see what designs other customizers come up with.  And if someone wanted me to make some sort of comedy photonovel, I could probably do that too.  I could use a few if people sent me one of their figures plus I have 10 or so versions I could use too.  Might be really goofy but all in good fun.

Alderaan Gaurdian, if you have any of those spare heads and want to sell them, please let me know.

Well, I'm all for it. The only problem for me is finding that head. I think Chewie bought them all. ;D

Alderaan Gaurdian could sell us some heads. Maybe Glassman could cast some heads for us.

Don't you love how I always volunteer Greg for things.  ;)

I don't know, my Dad's the collector, most of them he bought for me to keep in the box, I only have 8, I rounded up because I wasn't sure on the number. I could try to use my Jedi Mind Trick on the WEAK minded father of mine but I wouldn't count on it. I could probably get 1 or 2 to sell. He's really strict when it comes to trading and selling. In the past 3 months, he's spent $1500 on figs for me alone so maybe I should edit my fist post. Sorry for the confusion guys.

I just bought a endor trooper for Rykroff. I have an pretty good idea for the body. As for the head how about....

Microman Rykrof, good idea there.  I guess I need to come up with some ideas here... BTW for reference, here are some versions of him that I've made -

This is the original version that showed up in the first few photonovels... these are in chronological order of how he has or will appear in the series.  I'm sure I'll make at least 10 or so more -

already started....just can't decide if I can figure out a way to keep the head articulated...you see as I was boiling (not the endor trooper) the body the peg broke off and now I cant get it out without cracking the torso...and I really am not th best at that well with out wrecking the torso...

You can take a Han and paint a beard on him.
Title: Re: Rykroff project idea
Post by: CHEWIE on February 24, 2006, 03:12 PM
Or do a clean shaven Rykrof with a Han head might even work... but it might be tough to make it not look like Han... you could always do a really old Rykrof (assuming he lives that long) - here's what his dad looks like -

That's a custom though I might work on a bit to make it look less like Dodonna.

No Mercy Joe - You could maybe use what's left of the Rykrof head you have and dremel into it to make it a ball joint head and put it on an AT-TE Gunner body or something.

There are also lots of these Rebels available on ebay for pretty cheap -

Puffy shirts seem to be popular with those Enloe folks... perhaps Lobot was a long lost relative?   :P

I think the only time I ever used that Endor Trooper head was in a Jedi Custom.  I hink I have one head still laying around someplace, might have to join in and create my own version...

I hope you do join in Jeff, it would be fun.  This should be a pretty interesting project to see different people try, I am sure there will be some cool designs that I will try and incorporate into the series.

And yeah the Enloes do have a sense of style with those puffy sleeves.

This really does sound like a good idea, maybe I could use a different sculpt that looks like Rykrof? I remember having a BBi sculpt that would've been perfect with some mods. I would really like to jump in on this one.

Yeah, looks like I have only one head that I can use. I'll probably use a POTJ Han, paint on a beard and age him. I really wish I could use my Rykrof heads. This sucks. My dad os such an idiot.

As a practice in casting and mold making, I may try my hands and making a Rykrof head.  If they turn out, I could probably offer some up for people to use.  BTW, isn't it great that we longer call this the Endor Soldier Head but the Rykrok head.  ;D

I'm doing mine as a refugee Rykrof. He's going to be escaping the Empire. I'm not using my Rykrof head so, if Chewie uses it, he's gonna need to change the head. I'm going super simple. Blast sheild Luke head w/ Death Star Escape Han head. I've just got so much going on. Painting will be the toughest. I can never keep it from peeling.

I think Im going to do a "What If" type of thing with mine. Its going to be what if Rykroff was a rebel soldier at the battle of Endor. Ill put him in the endor soldier outfit and give him a removable helmet. You know I think i can nmake 2 versions out of this I may do one without a goatee. This custom will rule. :P ;D ;)

Again, I'd like to thank everyone for their interest in this project and Phruby for starting the idea.

What do you guys want me to do photonovel-wise with these?  I can try and incorporate them into some sort of "multiplicity" theme or something for a fun little story perhaps.  I certainly don't expect anyone to send their figure to me though.  And as much as I'd like to show everyone's figure in a story in the Rykrof Enloe series, it might be impossible.  But I could try and do at least some sort of short story like Phruby said.

Did someone say X-wing Version?  Here is a custom I did a while ago for another project, but I think it works just as well as a X-Wing Rykrof.   It uses the Kyle Katarn head instead of  the Endor Trooper.  What do ya think?

The big problem with the "Cast on the right" as its being affectionately referred to is that it is mostly hollow.  What happened is as I was pouring the resin in it got caught on the narrow part of the neck peg so the head only filled up about halfway.  I kind of squished it around as it was curing and when I pulled it out - that was the what was left.  I'm might still have some fun with it for the project!

When that happens brentS, dont take it out the mold.
Let it sit overnight and harden. Most of the time you can pop them out without crushing them.
Then they are fine, just hollow.

I don't think I even had enough in there to completely cover the inside of the mold.  The deformed cast actually looks better in that photo than in person  ;)

Just to confirm before I post anything is it okay if I make a different character :-\
I know the focus is to make rykrof, but I want to go at this in a little different approach. I was thinking to make the brother of Judiss, the Aqualish who was just killed during Rykrof's escape. I was thinking that he may not have known that rykrof was threatening Judiss, but more would have taken sides with the republic because of how the terrorist group made an example of him  :-\

well for one, i'm sorry that i don't always have the parts necessary to participate within the guildlines. I started collecting when the potf2 figures came out kinda gave up on it and didn't start collecting again until the ROTS line came out, so excuse my lack of fodder, but i didn't stick well enough to the star wars lines to be able to create really different figures.

Second, this is the 2nd group project i've even inquired about so to say I ALWAYS want to do something different is a slight exageration.

Third, Whats wrong with a little imagination? I understand the purpose of the project is to get a real focus in figures, but I was hoping there'd perhaps be a wider focus this time around   ::)

If i can't participate then sorry for wasting your time, but I can't say sorry for trying to find a creative way to participate and make due with the parts that I have.
I'm not sure i really even want to participate anymore, much less post, so say what you will.

I can't speak for Phruby but I'm sure he didn't mean to come off like an ass. The Group Projects all focus on one character (with the exception of this last one) where evryone makes their own version and then everyone compares them at the end. The MCC on the other hand is usually based on a category rather than a character.

Thats part of the project... you have people offering casts, there is e-bay, there are online stores...

When you are making any other custom, do you just scratch the project casue you dont have the parts handy?  Or , do you get the parts you need? Trade, buy or steal...?

Well, whatever you do when you make a custom, is do that same thing here. If you hunt till you get the part you need, do it for this project. If you give up and skip the figure till the parts magically appear, then so be it, do it here.

All Phruby was saying, weither the "  >:( " was necessary or not,  is that the time to suggest the subject matter has passed. Now is the time to do, or do not do THIS subject.

I found this topic 4 pages in, I didnt suggest we change it to suit my fodder box. If everyone did that, we would never have a group project.

Lighten up guys, please lets keep this fun, this is to be a testament to How we enjoy ONE of chewies characters.
ANy variation of that character...theres been a dozen?  That is not narrow.
Lets keep focused on the customs at hand.

( steps down off his saopbox, becasue for some reason he keeps thinking he needs to get up on one)  ;D

Well, I don't see why making a Rykrof figure should be that difficult for anyone, that figure is one of the cheapest ones in all the SAGA line to come by, is an army builder that was very easy to get, etc.  You can still get them now for just $4.99 righ there - http://www.toyrocket.com/jsp/catalog/productsfind.jsp

But getting mad at someone I don't think is the right thing to do, even though I don't see what the problem is in trying to make a version of this figure.

Murderweapon, don't feel like you shouldn't post here because of a small disagreement.

OK,

#1 -
C_M, I think your post (or part of it) did get a response.  A few people suggested to you alternatives to use if you don't have a ERT v1 head.  The reason that the majority of people did not respond to the idea of changing the topic was that most people were already excited about the Rykrof project by the time you proposed doing something different.  Many folks have pointed out how the "Group Project" is different from the "Monthly Challenge" so I'll leave that point alone.

#2 -
I'll put on my Staff hat for a minute here...  I think enough has been said that C_M can see Phruby meant no disrespect and his post just read harsher than he meant.  We can all move on and get back on topic.

#3 - why does everyone keep calling Commander_Miseria by "murderweapon"?  Am I missing something?   ???

He goes by murderweapon over at RebelScum and CommandoCustoms.

Back to topic, my Rykrof is almost done. I just need to add some detailing and give him a "Chewie-style" wash. Hopefully you won't be able to tell the difference between them. Maybe I'll have time for a second one.

Thanks again for the link Ryan, I ordered 5 more of that figure at $2.00 each.  That should keep me well stocked on those heads for a while.  Maybe I should order a dozen more because you can't beat that price.

I might buy a few more if the shipping is decent...

$5.80 shipping for 5 figures. So $15.80 for 5 endor troopers with beard. The non beard version costs $8 instead of $2. I didn't know the non beard version with rarer.

I was just about to buy this when I remembered that I just bought all that stuff to make casts. I think its still going to be cheaper to buy from yestertoys.com than making casts. I've boughten from them before. Good service and fast shipping.

That's really cool! Does the helmet fit? Either way, can we get a better shot off it?

Damn, I need a digi-cam (really good, but really inexpensive...  ;) ) so I can take part in this - I have a, sort of, dark jedi Rykrof thing going on here - but the scanner won't do it justice (not that it's all that great, but still).

And on a related, but separate stream of consciousness, anyone else ever have any problems with waiting 3 months for Yestertoys to deliver? That's what happened last time I ordered from them, so I'm a little weary this time around.

Thanks Pen. The helmet is hollowed out but does not fit over his head. He's head is much too tall to fit completely inside the helmet.

5 figures in 2 and a half days.

I'm gonna take a few days off and then take a shot at Rykrof.
Hopefully i'll have something to show by the weekend.
March is an extreemly busy month for me (family wise)
So i hope it get some time to work on it here and there.

Phruby, simple and very effective version of Rykrof.  Now that you are getting into casting, try making a removable helmet for him.
Starkid, this may be one of the first customs i've seen you post. Sorry if i've missed your others. Very nice addition to the group project

Jeff, next month or so we are going to all be reading the back of our toy mags, and see the price of these Bearded Endor troopers has jumped!

I'd be careful when ordering from Yestertoys.com
They have tons of negative feedbacks on eBay and I had heard that they actually closed down last year.  They haven't updated their web site in a long time.

I ordered a ton of stuff from them in the summer of '04 and about half of the time they shipped my correct order, but the other half of the time I would have to call them and talk to Tom about the mess up (since they hardly answered their e-mails).  I sent them an e-mail a few days ago just to see if they were still around and to ask on the quantities of a few figures, but have so far not yet received a response.

Anyway, I hope they are still around because, even considering their crappy customer service, their prices are too good to pass up.

Now these I want to see. Your JLU customs are some of the best I've seen.

As far as Rykroff is concerned, Im probably going to sacrifice the Endor trooper that I already have. I just have to settle on what I want to do with the rest of it. I want him unique and different, other than copying what Chewie has already done. Which is kind of hard seeing as how hes worn every possible outfit imaginable. ;D

Now that I think about it though, I may be able to kill 2 birds with one stone. Let me get back to you on this. I think I have a plan.

What do you guys think of SAGA obi wan pilot head as Enloe?

I think a little bit of hair color change it could pass for him. Anyways, I want him to look a little different anyways, because My Rykrof will be Post ROTS/ early rebellion years. I'm gunna make him a Rebel Commander so the commlink piece will work great as a comms head set.

Title: Re: Group Project XI - The Rykrof Project
Post by: Ryan on March 9, 2006, 04:12 AM
Personally I don't think it''ll work. It is too hard to use that head and make it look like something other than Obi-Wan, the same is true for most of the main hero/villain characters. He'll just end up looking like Obi Wan with some dyed hair.
Title: Re: Group Project XI - The Rykrof Project
Post by: Commander_Miseria on March 9, 2006, 11:40 AM
hmmm we'll see. I have a mock up and I just need to take a pic of it. It's looking pretty cool. I'm trying to get a rebel that looks a little bit less than a militia soldier as I'd imagine the rebels had a lot of support in the beginning.

I was thinking the obi-wan head would work because the Saga one doesn't really look like Ewan at all  :P

This is Rykrof Enloe at the end of the Clone Wars and the beginning of the Rebellion.  He is Commander of a rebel Ground forces unit and uses his knowledge of Clone battle strategy to battle the newly equipped Stormtrooper Elite.

PARTS USED:
HEAD- Obi wan Saga pilot
TORSO- Commtech luke
LEGS- Roadblock G.I. JOE (2003)
SHOULDER ARMOR- at-te gunner
EQUIPMENT HARNESS- EP1 naboo accesory pack

Commander_Miseria, first off thanks for making a Rykrof custom.  I do think that it still looks like Obi Wan, but that is ok.  Maybe to change that you could darken the hair on him and his goatee.  But it can look however you want of course.

Interesting design, cool to see a different perspective on the character after the Clone Wars.  You are right that he'll be very active after Order 66 for sure.  I am going to try and surprise everyone with how the photonovel series goes in that time period however.

Very nice custom, the harness is my favorite part.  Really looks like he's ready for jungle warfare.   :)

I've been really enjoying seeing everyone's Rykrof contributions -- this is a really wonderful idea for a casting call, and a great way to honor one of our very own photonovel pioneers.

Incidentally, to those out there who are STILL vacillating, Yestertoys.com STILL has the bearded Endor Rebel for $2.  I just ordered two of them so I can try my hand at Ry, too.  With a price that low, there's no excuse not to try Ry!  :)

Has anybody received anything from Yestertoys.com?  I posted before, but I'll ask again because I would cautious ordering from them.  I e-mailed them last week and still have not yet received a response.  I heard they had gone out of business last year and they have not updated their web site since then.
Anyway, if anybody receives anything (response/products) please let me/us know because, while their service sucked hardcore, their prices were too good to pass up.

Also, these Rykrofs are looking great, I need to find my Endor Rebels before I can try anything though  :-\
I think that the Obi-Wan definitely looks like an older Rykrof, but you just need to trim and darken the hair.  It's cool to see different heads for Rykrof that still look like him.

Doesn't yestertoys.com have a phone number you can call? You probably should check with your credit card company to see if they can actually process your charge. For all you know, they could be charging into a dead account.

As for Rykrof, this is truely a very impressive figure. I love the seemless merging of the gi joe legs to the Luke body. How did you handle the joe rubber bands? Does this mean the legs are glued in place? Very well painted and the harness is a great idea. He's very jungle warfar feeling. I'd say this figure is one of the best i've seen you do. He's far superior to your clones. He's a great example of merging toy line parts and making them look like they are made for each other.
Title: Re: Group Project XI - The Rykrof Project
Post by: Commander_Miseria on March 10, 2006, 02:50 PM
thanks for all the comments guys. Ya i did take a part the whole rubber band thing and he is glued at the waist, but all the other articulation remained intact. I loved the working holster so i couldn't let those legs go to waste  :P
Title: Re: Group Project XI - The Rykrof Project

So arn't the legs kind of floppy without the rubber band tension?
Title: Re: Group Project XI - The Rykrof Project
Post by: Commander_Miseria on March 10, 2006, 04:33 PM
No they're pretty stiff actually. The tension of the rubber band doesn't effect the legs because there is a seperate rod on the bottom, that the legs connect to on balljoints.

Alright, so I decided to enter this challenge. First ever 3 and 3/4 inch custom! :)

I don't have any Saga Endor Soldiers, so I used my spare Red Leader Obi Wan and painted the beard and hair black. I think it came out great, and looks a lot like Rykrof.

This is a Cold Weather version of him, for planets like Hoth.

Okay, finished up my Rykrof custom - I went way outside the box on this one.  I give you a Rykrof Android:

I think he looks better in person than the photos (they show off too many of the flaws).   For what its worth, the Rykrof head was one of the casts that I made - this one looked a little "thin" in the face like it had been squished together too much.  It matches the thin frame of the IG-88.  The other parts are EP1 C-3PO with the leg plating from the AOTC 3PO.  Because of the way the IG-88 and 3PO legs us different joint types (both had pegs on them), I had to dremel into the 3PO leg and trim the IG-88 waist.  Unfortunately I had to glue the leg in place to keep it there  :-[    I wassurprised that the 3PO and IG-88 legs were the same length.  I also glued the head in place because I was lazy  :)

Yeah, the 3 pack clone I tested the sharpie on turned purple, but the Obi head has not. I'm keeping it away from water, as I'd like to try it out on some other bodies.

Diddly - I didn't realize you've never make a 3-3/4" scale custom.  What a great start to that for you.  That's a great version of Rykrof.  I'm surprised at how well the head turned out, I never thought an Obi Wan head could look that close to what Rykrof looks like.  Great job using a sharpie.  I made one kind of similar to the whole Hoth idea not too long ago -

I had no luck at the Toy Show so I'll just wait for the next one. Sounds like a really fun idea though.

All of the custom Rykrofs look really good, especially what some of you have done with different heads. I was thinking about taking a picture of my Rebel Soldier from Endor, but that would be cheating since it is Hasbros and not mine.  :P  Believe me though, that's the best I can do.

If you can do a boil-n-pop, then you can do just about anything with customizing.  But of course if you don't want to, that's ok too.   :)

well, i never ordered from yestertoys...wanted to wait & see if they were still in business.  i'll just pick up a Rykrof on ebay so i can join in on the project.

Brent i really like your Robo-Rykrof & i can't wait to see what you do with the mutant head/clone gone wrong project...it reminds me of the Ripley clones gone wrong in Alien Resurrection  8)

I would, but I barely have enough money for collecting, so customizing is out of the question. I do have a bag of fodder from figures who broke in some way and I've replaced, but those are my only extra figures I can customize with.  :(

Thanks for the heads up DD, that sucks but is good to have confirmation.

Ok, here is my first of two Rykrof's for this project -

head - SAGA Endor Rebel
torso - GI JOE Classic Saw Viper
biceps - POTJ Imperial Officer
forearms - GI JOE Classic Saw Viper
skirt piece - GI JOE Classic Saw Viper
legs - ROTS Evolutions Maul

I'm happy with the parts selections, but might switch out for better gloves that hold weapons better, and think I should paint the vest.  I didn't do any painting on this figure yet.  It looks pretty good in person, but really the pics look awful.  I think the red torso looks like a blob in the pic, can't figyre out why.  A repaint should take care of the glare at least.  So I'll most likely change this figure over the weekend some.

Nice and simple starkid. The only thing I would do is paint the vest brown. Right now, the blue doesn't go with the color scheme of the cloud car pilot uniform.

Im glad you like him. Ive been wanting to do my own Rykroff for a while now, but I wanted him to be unique. And in keeping with the ongoing story with the Bado Korba all I really needed to do was finalise a concept and the rest just fell into place. Youre more than welcome to borrow the idea. Should you want to borow the figure himself, hes all yours as well.

Im really flattered by all the praise, but I have to admit the best is always the original. ;)

The gauntlets are trimmed up and dremmeled out G.I.Joe acessories. They are supposed to be wrist gauntlet/ communications type things, that just looked absolutely rediculous on the joes they came with. BUt I have thousands of them, so I decided to try to get rid of a few of them. If anyone wants a few I ve got them to spare.

I agree that's a great outfit for Rykrof.  I do have a couple of personal favorites I've made, because I think the outfits will really fit in well for what he's doing in the photonovel series when the time comes.

I think my favorite one though so far, is this one -

It just has a cheesy-swashbuckler feel to it, and I can't wait to use it in a photonovel.

The " Man in black" one with the cloak is a good one, I like that one a lot. BUt I still have to say my favorite Rykroff of all time is him in his Republic uniform from the first episode. I dont know why, youve done much better customs of him since then. BUt the"Vintage Rykroff" is still my favorite. ;)

Yikes, that is very scary looking.  The things nightmares are all about!  Good job though Brent!   :)

Here is my entry, I showed this one last week or two, but wasn't happy with it.  I repainted him to try and get rid of any shine that was reflecting off of Rykrof.  It might be my favorite Rykrof custom I've made, considering the variety of parts used in going to the GI JOE line and it actually working out well, his articulation too is one of the best I've been able to do.  In person it looks a lot better.  And also I made an "action pic" of him as well.

nice looking Rykrof Chewie, I like the colors of the vest & the knee articulation. one of my fave Rykrof's  :)

BrentS - the zombie/clone gone wrong turned out, well gruesome as it should, very Evanzan-esque  ;)

well, its down to the wire, but i got my Rykrof done after all.
i would like to present a vintage style Rykrof tribute to the pimpin poofy pirate sleeves  ;D

i wanted to get a "real" Rykrof but time & money constraints held me back, and i found a bag of loose vintage at a garage sale & it was all the inspiration i needed!

the parts are :

- head & torso : vintage Mego Luke Duke
- legs: some vintage Mego black guy fig who was in the bag with everything else, maybe Black Hole or something ???
- arms: vintage Lobot

Sorry for not getting my figure posted.
I intended to do this Thursday night, ya know, last minute....

Well I get home thursday and I dont have internet casuse my neighbor cut my line when he extended his driveway.
YES... AGAIN!!!!!
Last time my neigbor next to the cable hub extended his... in december. I was out for almost a month.
This time the guy across the street from him extends his, and ZAP, I'm out.
So I've been dealling with that issue all weekend, back and forth, whose responsible, etc... Comcast says 7 to 10 days to get e another line. Last time they said that it was 23 days.

I am having no luck with neighbors this year.. First internet, then the tree, and now internet again...
The joys of home ownership....

Brent, cool Mutant Rykroff, and Rip, i love the vintage one. Very cool idea.
Well, i'll get mine up hopefully by the end of the week.

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I wanted to post where I am at with this... before I show pics of the WIP I should give a little of the concept.  When  Chewie started showing images of Rykrof in the Rebellion, my brain assumed that he siwtched sides somewhere around Order 66.   And since he would be a marked man, Rykrof would need a foolproof disguise to evade the clone.  Inspired by Mad Martigan's disguise in willow, I present Rykrof: Clone Escape...

Basically I need to smooth the dremmel work on the chest and then repaint.  I debated about sahving him, but I think the beard makes it funny.

I love that disguised version, because I'm a sucker for accessories, and the wig is just awesome. You know, the concept has a very innocent George Lucas-esque humor touch to it, I think, reminding me of Han Solo and some of his heroic blunders in the OT (i.e., getting caught on the Death Star comm [EPIV], getting caught by C-3PO, kissing Leia [EPV], and getting caught by a scout trooper by stepping on a twig in 'Jedi').

Cool concept and I appreciate the hard work!

I liked the bounty hunter disgiuse, but the Rykroff that I really wanted was one in a Republic uniform. and since Danni Faytonni figures dont grow on trees, I had to improvise. ;)

The original Idea for this came from the Findswomans Clone dress uniforms. I have to give credit where its due. ( thanks Finds) She had one clone that wasnt like the others. Which I assumed was an officer, so I swiped the idea. ;D

The body is from a leftover Capt. Antilles fig with a Veers coat bottom, and of course a Rykroff head.

Glassman, no big deal.  Rykrof is just a fan fiction character, not based off anyone at all.  Just a character I made up.   Maybe when the new versions of the photonovels start back up you might read a few of them, but if not that's ok too.  :)

Im glad evewryone likes it. I liked the bounty hunter too, but this is more of what I wanted to do in the first place. That body has great potential as far as uniformed characters go. I really wish I would have snagged more at the time. This body was the remains of my group project "Custom of Me" that is now the star of my photonovel.
If youre not doing anything with the antilles heads Ill take them off your hands. Ill need a few 'Stunt Doubles" ;D.

Rykrof, hero of the federation disputes and clone wars, has seen alot of adventure in his day. Though his efforts were valient, he and the few others of his day were not enough to stop the evil empire from controling the galaxy.
30 plus years later,  Rykrof, older and battle worn,  finds himself on a mission to sabotoge an imperial outpost on the Forest moon of endor. Disguised as an imperial biker scout, he aids in disorganizing several imperial scout troops, by sabotaging their equiptment. Making it possible for a legion of imperial officers to be overtaken by primitive ewoks with sticks and a rock! Rykrof's wherabouts after the battle of endor are unknown...

Very cool Glassman!

This may be a dumb question, however keep in mind I only got back into action figure collecting/customizing actively just prior to summer of 06...
Is the Rykrof head from a previous released figure or a custom sculpt? AOTC Bail Organa?

Thanks Straxus, and maybe if people want to again someday we can do some other Rykrof project. Not sure if the interest level is there, but I'd be all for it.   :-*

The Rykrof head came from this figure -

For a while I wanted to make a photonovel, and wanted to use a Star Wars head that I could get several of for different versions of a character, that wasn't already a main character from Star Wars.  That one worked out really good because it was an army builder too, and I had already done head swaps with most of my Endor troops and had several extra "Rykrof" heads at the time.

Glassman I remember that figure, it's just awesome.  You did such a great job with it, especially the custom made helmet.

 :P

Too bad I did not know any of you guys or about these forums when a toy store I used to go to went out of business. They had tons of those there. It was right before I actually started customizing...(They had tons and tons of old figures sold there, but they went out of business, sad as it was a great source of older fodder.)
