Looks like Scott is getting away with murder today.  Brian, who has a history of doing this if I remember correctly, has left both a bye week player (Elam) and an inactive player (Henry) in his starting lineup.

That's a free win for Scott.  Very annoying.

 >:(

That sucks, did anyone think to try and get in contact with Brian to let him know?!

It's not like Bonds and the homerun record - there's no need for an asterisk.

I'm just making a point, if you let your opponent win unchallenged with no effort, I think that's a factor.

Doesn't matter in my match up.  Even if he had his "Optimal Lineup" I still win.

Sorry about the lineup troubles this week.  We had a death in the family, so we were out of town the end of last week and through the weekend, and I never thought to change/check any fantasy lineups.  I didn't mean to cause any problems with matchups or anything like that.

Obviously games should be the last thing on your mind at a time like that.  Sorry to hear about your loss.

Don't look now, but I have made up a 24 point deficit on Brent tonight with pure McNabb and 2 rushing, 2 throwing TD's, and am now just .80 points behind with 12 minutes to play...

Let's hope I get closer than the 2 yards I lost by last week...

Prepared for the loss, but hoping for the win,

Dressel

AAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHGGGHHHH!!!!!  Because of their 31-9 edge, the Eagles are sitting McNabb for the rest of the 4th so he doesn't take an injury in garbage time!!!

****!  This time I was just 12 passing yards short of the 300 yard QB bonus of 1 point for the win.

I swear, this is the 4th or 5th fraction of a point game I've had in 3 years of fantasy football and I have lost every one of them.

This time it was back to back weeks.

Always had a good team.  Never had the luck.

Oh you suck!   :)

Look at my Week 4:

1.  Torry Holt has a TD taken away even though both feet were down and the ball crossed the plane of the goal line, on a coach challenge.

2.  Rian Lindell missed a routine field goal.

3.  McNabb taken out in a rout 12 passing yards short of giving me the week's win.

4.  T.O. drops another TD pass in the endzone that he usually catches, back to back weeks.

5.  72 points scored, for the loss.  My score would have defeated all 10 other teams in the league.

Very very poor football mind luck.

Dude, having played Fantasy sports for over 15 years now, I can honestly say luck has 75% to do with your teams success every year.  Sure you can plan and plan and hope to have a good draft but you know damn well freak injuries (Priest Holmes going down last year gave Kev the championship), freak plays (as you mentioned) and who you happen to play that week (scoring the 2nd most points and losing) all are part of that luck.  Who'd a thunk Ichiro jacking a homerun yesterday would have cost me the Baseball crown?  Not me...its largely luck and a little bit of skill

I've lost games before because Jason Elam pulled his groin on an extra point during Monday Night Football (which he missed and I needed 2 points to win that night)  I won a game 3 years ago down 29 going in to Sunday night when Joe Horn scored 4 Touchdown's on Sunday Night (And called someone on his cell phone)
I've lost and won games on weird **** just like you described above...it happens, it is what makes this game so great, far better than any of the other fantasy sports because there is only 16 games a year

My condolences to you as well Brian

Okay, now I feel better.  That was ******* priceless.

 :)

You really know how to cut to the core of me, I lose back to back football weeks by a combined total of 1 point margin, and suddenly I am very happy about the outcome of fantasy sports of late.

Good teams win the close ones. ;)

I kid of course... we all are slaves to luck once the draft is over.  Sure you can make educated guesses on who to start every week but once the games start a million different things can happen.

If you'd have told me that all I needed was for Mushin Muhammed to not catch a touchdown pass OR for Hasselbeck to throw just ONE - I'd have loved those odds, but Darrel Jackson dropped a sure fire TD on a 40 yard bomb and Muhammed caught his first TD of the year and voila, I went from 2-2 and on the rise, to 1-3 and back into the fantasy football cellar.

Likewise I'm in 10th place because it's a head-to-head league but my team is fifth in points scored.
