Saga '02-'04 / Re: SAGA Snowtrooper

I like the new Snowtrooper.  I think he could have been better, though.  I remember him being on 'rumor' lists from a couple of years ago, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was meant to come out earlier, since his sculpt doesn't really reflect a lot of the advancements made lately.  I could be way off, though.  The thing I wanted most was a cloth or latex mask (like the 12" version).  I would have gone ballistic over that.

I'm with Mister PL.   ;)

A Medical Frigate Screen Scene rocks.  Plus, since it fits the current criteria (two new figs, one previous), the Luke/Leia/2-1B tandem is a slam dunk.

That's amazing, OCB!  I really love the work you did on him.  Hopefully Hasbro will take a hint and throw him in a Bespin 4 pack down the road   ;D

Also, be not afraid of Spuffy's Dorme Petition, located in my sig.  Not as many signatures as ICMG, but it did recieve notice (of sorts) in last month's Vogue magazine, which profiled Rose Byrne, the actress.

I'm working on finding parts for a Dorme custom.  I thought maybe Bariss would work, but I don't want an Unleashed Dorme.  Sigh.

I'm certain George has some sort of plan to continue the universe beyond E3, whether it's TV or something else.  It's too much of a revenue stream now for Lucasfilm to just abandon.  Why else re-up with Hasbro for so long?  Just to say 'up yours' to others sniffing around the license?  I think the figures will continue for a long while.  At least until I get my Dorme.  I mean, come on.   ;)

Ooh, lists... in no particular order:

Dagobah Luke Skywalker: A must.

Wedge Antillies Snowspeeder Pilot: More of a must.

General Veers Star Destroyer Outfit

Bespin Gown Leia: Where oh where is she?

Lobot Resculpt: No more disco for you, Lobot.

Ultimate Snowtrooper: Massive articulation, latex mask.

Luke Orange Jumpsuit: And also a new Snowspeeder version.

Luke/Leia Medical Frigate: Luke has easy access arm panel, articulation to put said arm around Leia.

Ultimate ESB Yoda: No character deserves more.

Ice Cream Maker Guy: For OCB!!

These are all fantastic ideas.

Myself, I want these most:

Dagobah Training: Dagobah Luke, Yoda, R2

Arena #1: Pablo Jill, Bultar Swann, correct Plo Koon
connects to:
Arena #2: Sora Bulq, Roth Del Masona, good Arena Mace

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Luke and Darth: A New Hope...What are they?
« on: May 29, 2003, 04:02 PM »
Nataku brings up an interesting point.  These could very easily just be the C1 ROTJ Luke and Vader.  That would make as much sense as repacking older figures, since the window of availability for both those figures seems kind of short.

These are going to end up like the Eopie, unless Hasbro convinces someone to take them on.  Since they're all sitting in a warehouse somewhere, I doubt my hopes that Hasbro would just release them individually on a card will come true anytime soon.    :(

I absolutely adore the new cards.  These are my all time favorites from the modern line.  The card back is even better.  As for the re-releases:

Maul: Great choice.  I have him, but many don't.

Leia: I would have picked the Hooded version.

Han: If what they're going for is the best representation of a core character in his/her core outfit, this is it.  I got mine for $2, as I'm sure plenty of others did.

I actually think Luke and Leia from the Medical Frigate will be made eventually.  There are only so many new Luke and Leia's they can do, and these two would be nice choices.  Give Luke a nifty hand/arm with an open up panel, people would buy it.   ;D

I think both retailers and Hasbro share the blame.  Retailers for ordering so outlandishly, and Hasbro for willingly filling those orders.  They could cap production.  Toy companies are famous for it.  They have a bottom line, though, and the money they make selling these to TRU, Wal Mart and the like outstrips the money they spend picking up all the pegwarmers.

 ;D

Having received a wonderful invite from OCB, I couldn't resist.  And look what I've found!  A nice, civil, intelligent, informed place to discuss SW toys?  It can't be!  ;)

Thought I'd add some bio: You can call me Darb, I live in the Seventh Level of Hell, otherwise known as Waterloo, Iowa.  I'm a writer currently shopping my first book.  Mmm... first I'll admit to.  I studied Film & Lit at the University of Iowa, and spent a summer in Dublin, Ireland, studying writing at Trinity College.  I have lots of toys.  I guess that's about it.

Already made a few posts before finding this forum.  Looking forward to many more.
