Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Too Much Stuff?

I've reached critical mass as well, so a good 30-35% of my DVD library has made its way to eBay. Partially to fund my new HDTV, and somewhat because I just feel I had too many movies, a lot of which I could just rent for free, and some which don't merit owning.

Feels good to have empty rack space, should that "must have" movie come along.

If anyone has a BJ's wholesale club near them and is a Clint Eastwood fan then check out the display they have.  They had about 20+ Eastwood Collection DVD's for only $4.99 each.  Picked up:

Tightrope
Gauntlet
White Hunter Black Heart
True Crime

They're also in the Wal Mart dump bins for $4.88, as well as at DeepDiscountDVD.com for the same price. They're probably about to release a new, better boxed set. I know for a fact a couple of them are going to HD-DVD.

I've been laying off purchasing DVD's for a while now, personally. I'll nab FD3 and the Halloween discs o nthe 25th, but otherwise, I think I've sold close to 150 or so from my collection in the past 3 weeks or so.

It's fairly weak, generally speaking. 3 movies for me total, all on the 25th, the last week of the month. Rental wise, it's even worse, unless you're looking forward to "ATL".

I got all 6 sets for $50 combined. A mix of pawn shop finds, and Best Buy's BOGOF offer from a couple of months back. I've sold them since, though. I cleared out a big chunk of my DVD's actually, mostly to make $ for my new HDTV. July is one of the absolute worst months for DVD releases, anyway.

Same here. The plot was ridiculous, and the baby drama backstory ended up eclipsing the suggested excitement of Superman's return, which relegated him to a background character. He popped up on screen to lift some heavy objects, then fly away. next time, if there is one, they need a credible villain. Not a disgruntled guy with an affinity for books and world domination by way of uninhabitable rock sculptures.

Alls I ever said is that over the 3 or 4 years I've been posting here, my editing of posts has been everyone else's "Cory's hand in the cookie jar" defense. I did it because I'm trying not to make such a big deal over something so trivial and assinine, even though it usually ends up like this. I've served as the butt of many a joke, and while I'll never know why, much like I'll never be fully understood, I cling onto this fleeting hope that we'll all just grow up and discuss things normally.

It's a DVD discussion thread, not much of one, but a discussion thread nonetheless.

Not a literary critique.

Have fun with it.

Yep, it's that bad.

You guys should know better than to question someone who calls himself "Cinemaddiction."

My username hasn't been "Cinemaddiction" since the first week of January 2006. But, if it makes it look like you know what you're talking about me easier to identify, I can always change it back.

EDIT: Had to make an edit because I forgot to put a space between the strike code and the word "me". End of discussion.

Caught "Superman Returns" on a new Christie DLP projector today. Flawless display, pretty miserable movie. Bad plot, uninspired acting, lack of charisma all around, and way, way too long to keep me interested.

Was that 'wow' in response to Cory's pre-edit or post-edit remark?

Post-edit, I think.  I'd love to have seen his pre-edit.

Either way, wow.  Just...wow.

What? Why argue over something that I made blatantly obvious? It's pointless. As far as this "editing" bull**** defense that has been used WAY too many times; can I not edit a message to get across what I mean to say, without making myself look like a jackass, lowering my debating standards?

If it's a crime, then I'm guilty. My god. I edit messages. Find it hard to believe that anyone even saw, much less remember, what I typed in the ONE MINUTE SPAN in which I posted, edited, then reposted.

But then again, what do I know.

FreezeDriedMovies.com is hardly an authority on movies. They're a fledgling subdivision of Bloody-Disgusting, which has been, and still is, notorious for leaking and providing false information on A LOT of stuff. I did share a couple of links to reputable sites that just prove what I've said, that there's one minutes difference. That's all there is to it, and I was half-way joking in the manner in which I said we should drop it.

What more confirmation do you need that Amazon is wrong? It's just silly to drive something so trivial to this point, which I never intended. You got your answer, no?  What more is there to discuss? Just trying to be helpful.

The run times are factual. I never present my opinion as anything other than that. Snake eyes.

I shared the run time information the same day I learned about it. I don't remember if it was here, but certainly on DVDTalk and KMC, and cleared up the misconceptions there.

Now that I've done it here, let's give it a rest. 1 minute difference, end of discussion.

Why are you trying to prove me wrong, Rob? Honestly? I compared the two discs the day we got them in at my Hollywood, which was approximately 6 days before the release date.

***Note*** This film is the unrated version as opposed to the R version that ran in theaters. The theatrical cut was 107 minutes, while this cut is 108 minutes. I obviously failed to catch major differences.

That's because these handful of extended scenes is all that differs between the two. One minutes worth.

I'd be glad to take my digital camera to work with me this weekend and snap some shots of the back cover.

Amazon is wrong.
