Customs Community and Group Projects / Re: Life after customizing?
« on: November 8, 2005, 01:54 PM »
My wife is facinated by my creativity...period, not just customs. But she is even more facinated when others( her co-workers, friends etc) become amazed at my creations.
She has never asked when will i stop making. I think she enjoys seeing them come together. She keeps bugging me to make one of her...I will for christmas.

She figures that i should be selling every figure i make though, which i dont want to do.

She has asked when i will stop collecting and i respond, when they stop making figures...To which she relpys they will never stop! This was prior to Episode III, more than a year before. I think she realized it was a lost cause. As long as lucas makes 3 3/4" figs, I'll collect em.

Since i have moved into sculpting my own parts, I dont need the toy line to continue for fodder. So i dont know when/if i will ever stop.

Good topic Chewie!

Great lot of customs chewie,

To continue on Plagueis, Since he was so concerned withkeeping his loved ones alive, i picture him as a hermet looking type of person. Miserly and covetious almost.

I dont know how that conveys into a custom, but i dont think him looking like a senator is the directions i would take him.

Those inserts are fantastic... Where were you a few months ago when i was carding my clones?
I could have used these!!!

The terror wookie , zombie yoda and the death knight are all terrific.

Phurby and Chewie already know i admire their work, but Ryan, you really did a gret job on
on your death knight.  Very nicely pieced together an exceptionally painted.
Like Phurby said, very reminicent of chewie/scoundrel.
Great stuff guys.

Cool goroup of figs chewie.

Love the Tibanna gas miners...The paint job really does a good job at disguising the scanning officers body.
For rykof's wife, paint the hands to match the face. They really stand out.  I'd say
that the head was a perfect match for the body if the hands were the same color.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: In Rem's Customs - as of 10/27/05

In Rem, welcome out of the shadows...
First off, great field officer. Very nice mix of parts.
Nice paint and weathering apps.

The heavy clone is nicely done. It fits in with all the "original concept" clones that are out these
days, but could easily be mistaken for an actual movie clone.
Same can be said for your others.

Keep up the great work.

I use smooth-on's Smooth Sil 920 and i have yet to use an releaser or anything else.
Its very durable.

But mostly mine aren't very complex like yours.  I'm just not that talented or patient enough to create anything like you do.

Dont sell yourself short chewie, even you "less complicated" customs show off your numerous talents( concepts-seamless part merging-and i say again the paint aps).

But i didnt tart making complicated figures form day one... check my site and you'll see a big diference in quality. My older ones vs newer ones...but not to hijack this thread...Just try something different and harder(as you preceive it to be) and then the next time it should be easier....

Back on topic..Great imp officer.

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: peg heads to ball heads
« on: October 25, 2005, 11:35 AM »
Here is how i've done it.

If you have a dremel or any rotary tool get one of these bits.

Its the one second form the last.

Just cut off the peg to the chin, then its a little by little process casue you dont want to make the hollowed out part too big or the head will be loose.

Grind a little then try to fit it and keep going till your are happy with the fit.

How many customs do you make a month chewie?  50 plus?

You update everyday it seems....DANG!

Customs Community and Group Projects / Re: Tonnika Sisters
« on: October 21, 2005, 11:59 AM »
I think we should keep the sisters together...

If you do them both it wont make much sense to post one here and the other there(even though we post both places)

I think we should do them as a set here.
