I have traded with/bought from Ryan several times and in each instance he goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Ryan is a terrific person and an excellent trader and I give him my absolute highest recommendation.

So great to see new work from you, man!  You were always my favorite customizer and I love that so many of your ideas come from the classic WEG game materials.

Your sculpting abilities are simply mind-blowing!!

A cool little story.  Like the comic book style, I'm definitely going to have to take this program for a spin.

At times, it's a little "clausterphobic" - i.e. no wide or establishing shots.

But good stuff nevertheless!

I absolutely loved MFK's cantina comic and the above example sure looks cool, as well.

In my older photonovels (no longer available on line....at the moment), I used speech balloons and captions, more similar to a comic book.  I enjoyed that style.

But then, inspired by Chewie's great pictures (the movie still format), I switched to that format for my interactive photonovel.

As visually striking as the comic book format is, it suffers from one weakness - the static facial expressions of the figures.

In real comic books, the character's faces are extremely descriptive and evocative.  More is conveyed through the art than the dialogue, in most cases.

I went back to doing "text below pictures" in order to make my stories more "novel-esque".  Because the visuals are limited, you can make up for those deficiencies with descrptive, well-written text.  In my versions, though, the text is part of the picture, not written into the thread.

this is essential for my Interactive story, where I need to convey a lot of information to the reader about the environment and events that are happening.

However, in the future, for straight narrative photonovels (assuming I ever get the time to do any) I may experiment with a hybrid - using limited text blocks when necessary, but also trying to employ the great collage/comic book visual style that MFK and others have done.

I really dig this figure.  Sort of a hybrid between animated and "live action" styles.  Very original, very unique, very cool looking!!

Neat eyes!

Photonovels and Movies / Re: My Cantina Comic *COMPLETE!*

Awesomely gorgeous, as always!!!

I don't like the use of the brand new Tatooine wave Han.  Don't mind it for the "I don't have it with me" bit, since that's what his arm was sculpted to do, but I would have used him as little as possible and switched back to VOTC immediately.

but that is a minor nitpick.  This is friggin' GREAT!!!!

Now please go make an original photonovel!  I love your work!!!

I replied at RS, but let me comment again here.

I really think this looks FANTASTIC.  It really looks like a comic book come to life.

The layout, the picture quality, the lettering are first rate.  Bravo.

Because you are clearly a very creative and very visual person, I think you should let your imagination run wild and create an original story.

I know you said you were a stickler about backgrounds and such....

Well, head on over to niubniubsuniverse.com or erikstromtrooper gallery download some textures and make some dios!  They don't have to be super elaborate.

Use your cantina set, use the Jabba set, prowl the internet for more images, etc.

Your talent is CRYING OUT for an original photonovel, man!  Get cracking!!
