Yeah, she was. I'm liking this set a little more now too, didn't realize that some of the troopers were actually new.

All this Phantom Menace stuff is actually making me a bit nostalgic. It's a pretty great line up, a good mix of old and new. I'll be looking forward to the lot of them. I also agree that it bodes really well for the future films 3D releases if we can get a small push like this based on each one, we'll have several holes filled in for each film by the end of the 3D run.

Gammy and the RFT for sure, and I'd also say Echo base Trooper, Bastilla and Ponda as well since they're one per case with a bunch of repacks. I can't imagine they'll be easy to track down.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Modern Masters of the Universe

I'm also torn. I like the looks of a lot of the basic figures, but i have no need for the Star Sisters 3 pack, or any other more expensive items. I do like that Shadow Weaver though. It's a tough call, and once again could be resolved if mattel would just offer a sub-lite option of just the monthly basic figures only. I'd be down for that.

Not to mention this stuff would probably bomb without media support to draw in the kiddies and with Mattel likely packing He-Man and Skeletor in every case 3-4 times over with 1 each of every other character.

He looks neat enough, I may go ahead and order him. Does anyone know if theres anything fancy and exclusive about this particular Thor that would set him apart from a retail release? I seem to remember reading somewhere that Thor is supposed to be in wave 1 as well.

Hall of Justice / Re: Mattel Green Lantern Movie Figures

I picked up a Rot Lop Fan since he's close enough to his comic counterpart to hang with my DCU Lanterns and i picked up 5 of the alien lanterns in the 4" scale just cuz I thought they were neat looking and I got them on sale. I thought about going for the movie masters, but decided to stick with the little ones instead since they're significantly cheaper.

I think Hasbros biggest problem with these movie lines is that they try to drag it on too much. 4-5 waves for a summer movie line is just too much, non collector interest usually doesn't last that long. 2 waves is a nice number for a movie line, one sneak preview wave and then a wave that comes out with the theatrical release,  with maybe a third coming out around the dvd release, but nothing past that. If they find there's still demand after the initial releases, then would be a good time to throw together an easy repaint and variants wave to appease consumers. Honestly though, I think they did better here with Thor than they did Iron Man, aside from missing the boat to get wave 2 out for the movie release. Theres actually some character selection and not just a million Thor variants, villains are out in the early waves and not at the lines end etc. The only real gripe I have is putting Sif in wave 4, pretty much ensuring most will never get her.

It really is confounding. Gladiator especially, I mean he just seems like such a C lister if that unless I missed him becoming super popular lately. Is he really in demand enough to warrant two per case, let alone being carried forward? Really baffling move on that one.

After much deliberation between movie masters and the 4" guys, I went ahead and picked up Kilowog and Green Man from the 4" line. Cruddy articulation aside, I think they look very nice sculpt wise and they're much easier on my wallet. I do not regret my purchase. The lack of pose-ability really doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would, since I probably just would have stuck them on the shelf in a neutral pose anyway, and the price was right. I'll probably get some more of the alien guys, Hannu, Isamot Kol and Stel all look pretty neat. The humanoid looking characters are rather weak looking though. It really is a shame they didn't include more articulation though, Mattel probably could have sucked a lot more people into the basic line if they'd just included knees, elbows and wrists, because they really are leaps and bounds better than the Infinite Heroes in terms of sculpt.

Very nice haul over the weekend. Finally scored El Les, the Aqua Droid and grown up Ashoka. Very happy with all 3, the Aqua Droid in particular is rather well designed. Had a chance at the new Ani as well but passed due to my budget.

Id be down for one of these if it weren't a K-Mart exclusive. We haven't had one of those in Canada for a while now. I wonder if there'll be anything new besides fancy packaging to entice other buyers. They could probably score an extra couple of sales by including pilots with these exclusive ships.

I've been waiting for a chance at the classic Y-Wing for a while after passing on the 30th AC version a while back due to lack of funds. I look forward to seeing it, I'm good for BMF treatment or even just the retooling. Hopefully it comes with a droid.

Theres a Loki coming out in a later wave that has a cape and the big horned helmet. Thats the one I'm holding out for.
