I always liked the idea proposed by Robert Brown (the "Millennium Falcon : Ship of Mysteries" guy) :

That the films be taken as a (fictional) "History".

And then everything else be taken as legend, "based on a true story", or "inspired by true events"

So I can rationalize: of course Luke started a Jedi academy after the Battle of Endor. But Hutts never "really" stole a Death Star gun and flew it around the galaxy.  That's just one of hack holo-drama  producer Jander Son-Nikev's stupid embellishments.

This mind frame allows me to accept the  "existence" of Mara Jade and Thrawn without losing sleep over the events on which Zahn couldn't outguess George's prequels.

I guess this take on SW is like LFL's "levels of canon", but more individualized.

George's Films are like "Tora, Tora, Tora,"  where KJA is making "Pearl Harbor."

For my money, the older pop-apart backpack Yoda has the best scale, proportion, sculpt, and expression. His face looks like an old weary Muppet.
Perfect.

Any Vintage re-do should have that head.

Actually, for his tiny size,  soft goods and the ball-jointed elbows are a detraction too.  I think the VOTC version is about 3 steps backward from the backpack version.

Add a snake to "backpack" Yoda and you have the bestest Yoda ever.

I think the ESB and ROTS are very different droids too, so the POTF2 toy is a better likeness to our vintage doc.

That said, by objective standards the ROTS toy is MUCH better scaled.  It just is.  The ESB prop was 178 cm tall, per the "From Star Wars to Indy" book.  A truescale ESB droid should be 92.7mm.

The POTF2 droid is about 104mm.  About 12% too large.  He's a great Wookie doctor.

The ROTS toy is about 91mm+ {depending how the legs are splayed}.  At most, it's 2% too small.

When Hasbro makes the uber-version, I expect {HOPE!} it to be about the same size as the ROTS version.
