Y'know, here's a case of Hasbro making a product NO ONE asked for.  The figures are goofy as heck. I'm curious what fans will think of these.   And, it seems that Hasbro doesn't mind using the ROTS Tarkin body for the ANH Tarkin, even though the uniforms are really different.

For the most part I'm very disappointed in what Hasbro's shown at Comic-Con.

Republic Commandos - repaints and internet exclusives (probably)
Geonosian Warrios - repaints
Chewbacca with Threepio - repack
Kit Fisto Jedi Starfighter - repaint
Yellow Jedi Starfighter - repaint
Vader's Starfighter - repaint, and made up
Hailfire Droid - repaint
Kit Fisto - repaint

Snowspeeder - repaint with a trick figure to get people to buy ANOTHER snowspeeder

Tin colletions - repacks with an occasional new figure mixed in to take advange of people who want one of every figure

Rebel Fleet trooper EU - repaint of a horrible figure?!  WTF?

Snowtrooper - repack with a removable helmet (nice) with Jango's face (Boooo) - and it doesn't even use the new legs from the SAGA version.

AT-AT Walker - repaint with more Jango-faced-removable-helmet-nonsense

TIE Fighter - repaint, packed with the crappy version of the TIE Pilot

Cody Hologram - recast holo rehashed nonsense

Obi-Wan Hologram - see: Cody Hologram.

Early Bird Kit? - repack
Han in Hoth gear - repack

The only interesting items I've see are:

R5-A1 - kitbashed droid,
Imperial Officers - rehashes
Kir Kanos and Carnor Jax - Internet exclusive and kitbashed
Barc trooper
Han in Stormtrooper disguise - is that as straight up as it looks?
Galactic Marine - kit bashed
Airborn Trooper - kit bashed
Lava Miner - new

Are the battle droids and super battle droids repacks or new?  Probably repacks.

I really hope there's more for 2007, because almost all of this is crap made on the cheap, designed to rip off completists and keep army builders building.

The fact that this image is a joke makes me even more disappointed:

I think I'm going to seriously close up my wallet this year if this is how it's going to be.

Colman just relayed that Hasbro told him for the third straight year that the U-Shaped Bar was coming in 2007

But with that Willrow Hood image, a Hasbro exec just reached out and slapped Scott Pearson right across the face.  2 points for that, at least.

Did they really put a new head on the 1997 endor trooper?  And where did the TIE with the INCORRECTLY scaled wings come from?

This is so freaking lame I can't believe it.

My favorites from the Con:

Imperial Astromech R5-A1- Astromechs are always cool, and Imperial ones are even cooler.

E2 Green Clone Trooper- I have a measly E2 GAR consisting of one Yellow Clone Trooper, so I'll gladly pick this up to boost my small army.

Super Battle Droid (Island Camo)- Love the EU paint job.

Nabrun Leids/Kabe 2-Pack- Nice seeing more cantina aliens, but like previous Wal*Mart Exclusives, he'll be hard too find.

Kir Kanos/Carnor Jax Comic 2-Pack- Love seeing more EU, and it's cool getting a reprint of a comic too.

Kit Fisto's Jedi Starfighter- Kit's a favorite Jedi of mine, and his ride looks choice.

Marvel EU Comic 2-Packs- The GI Joe Comic 3-Packs were a favorite of mine, and I love seeing this idea implemented into the SW line. Plus, it's EU.

Mustafar Lava Miner- Looks pretty cool.

McQuarrie ANH Stormtrooper- Like many of us, I coudn't find the '03 McQuarrie Stormie in stores, so I'm glad this is being rereleased.

There is some other stuff that looks pretty neat, like Holo Cody, Vader's Astromech, Comic Sing, that I might get, but maybe not.

Looks like an expensive last quarter of the year though. Oh well, there's always X-Mas & B-Day!

So does this mean we will be getting the flip helmet scout trooper in a 2-pack instead of having to buy the At-At? Am i just hoping too much?

That one is on the SA body, the Endor AT-AT one is on the POTJ body - unless they just changed their minds.

This is probably a trick to get you to buy BOTH.

I can't tell from the pictures who is #68.

As for the flip top, that is good enough. I don't need 2.

Interesting, thanks. The comic version of Aurra looks pretty interesting.

I 100% agree with Rob's post above. I am SICK of ROTS era Clones, and I will not be army building with them anymore. I want OT Army Builders and AOTC Clones and Battle Droids.

Actually...it's a mix of Padme from the Arena and Droid Factory Chase. When the first images of Droid Factory Padme came out, circa fall 2002, somebody on Rebelscum made a photoshopped version of the padme they should have been releasing...oddly enough...it's almost exactly what that figure looked like today.

BTW...from the official site:

Who's read all the Aurra comics and remembers this outfit? I don't. I must be rusty.
