Another TRU Exclusive.
As the front page reports the set could be repacks of Obi-Wan, Utapau Clone, Vader, Silver Sandtrooper, Yoda, and an Elite Clone.
Let the speculation and comments begin.
Pesonally, I think sticking a Sandtrooper in there is lazy. Sure it's a clone, but seems random considering everyone else should be PT fodder.
On the other hand, I'm glad it's supposed to be all repacks giving me one less purchase to make.
-
I would buy it if it were more like:
ROTS Ki-Adi Mundi
TAC Galactic Marine
TAC Obi-Wan Kenobi (from the comic pack)
TSC Captain Fordo
Evo Anakin Skywalker (either movie)
Evo Clone Pilot (blue ARC repaint)
and two SA Clone Troopers (AOTC)
but that'll never happen :'(
-
This is a huge pass for me.
-
This sounds like something they put LESS thought into than the Order Sixty Sux 2 packs.
-
JediInsider (http://jediinsider.com/index.php?catid=8&itemid=10306) has a couple of pics of this upcoming gift pack, if interested. It includes:
Utapau Clone Trooper
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Darth Vader
Silver Sandtrooper
Yoda
Elite Corps Clone Trooper
-
Wow, this is a whole lot of crap for me to pass on. No thanks.
-
Yeah, pass here too. I don't understand when they mismatch figures together like this, that don't make any sense. It would be so simple for them to do better "gift packs". Either go all clones, or go all OT troops, or some other incarnation. This seems to be "Obi-Wan and his clone, Yoda and his clone, then a Silver SANDtrooper, and oh heck, let's throw a Vader in there".
-
ICK!! Hasbro is starting to do a pretty good job of weaning me off boxed stuff....That just looks horrible.

Huge pass for me.
-
Man, that sucks... not even a theme really, just a mish-mash of jedi, sith, and clones thrown together.
Add my name to the "pass" list.
-
What a mess.
Pass.
-
I may pick it up is I ever find it on clearance and I'm current on the figs out at that time but otherwise I too, will pass it like a kidney stone.
-
I cracked up when I saw the Silver Sandtrooper in there, it seems Hasbro had some old stock and just decided to throw him in there, disregarding that OT-style Sandtroopers didn't exist 'til about six years after ROTS. The kids will love this set though.
-
Gotta get Kenobi out there somehow.
-
Yeah this is pretty comically bad slapping together of a box of a figures, even for Hasbro who do a bad job of that routinely. Maybe one of their worst products ever?
Hear me out on this...
What I'm saying is, I've weighed this against choppers, Cruise Missle Trooper, Buff anyone... This is pretty ****** really. I don't even see much appeal for kids there honestly, I mean who wants a silver Sandtrooper?
That's a whole lotta suck Hasbro delivered though... So yeah, easily look past it.
-
More than likely the set will eithe be purchased by completeists or parents, grandparents, whatever, who don't know any more than that the person they're buying it for likes Star Wars. It'll be one of those sets that ends up at the outlet mall toy stores. With a name like Commanders & Clones my first though was maybe a set similar to the Order 66 line with new Jedi generals and the appropriate clone.
-
Maybe Hasbro's response to why a Silver Sandtrooper is packed in with all the ROTS figures will be the plot for one of the new SW TV movies. The Time Travelin' Sandtrooper! The Imperials, after their humiliating defeat to a bunch of teddy bears, send a Stormtrooper back in time, via a souped-up Delorean, to assassinate Nien Nunb, preventing the Rebels from winning the Battle Of Endor! Along the way, this platinum Imperial trooper encounters Obi-Wan, Yoda, their respective Clones, and Vader! Hilarity ensues!
-
The pics are now gone, but the set definitely sounds like a ton of ****. Pass with no guilt whatsoever.
-
I too, will pass it like a kidney stone.
Painfully?
??? :-X
-
Ok, bad analogy. Pass it like kindergarten. (cuz it's easy. how's that grab ya? ;))
-
Man, that one stinks of being decided upon on a Friday afternoon before a long weekend.
-
What a mess.
That is probably the best, most accurate phrase to describe this set.
-
Besides, isn't this innappropriately named?? I thought all Jedi were generals in the Clone Wars. So, should this be called Clones and Generals gift pack?
Not that it matters. It's not going to change the suckiness of this pack. Easy pass like rotten gas.
-
:P Will they have a silver Jango head under that sandtrooper's helmet? :P
I don't see how they thought anyone who's been collecting any amount of time would take this seriously. Even the 5-10 year olds will probably lready have all of these, and parents will know it.
Let's hope the arena set doesnt 'reek' as much as this set does. :P
-
The only attractive figure in this set to me is the Elite Corps Clone Trooper. And considering the fact that I passed on picking up 4 of them last night I probably won't be picking up this set.
As for that silver Sandtrooper? Totally out of place. What were you thinking Hasbro?
-
Huge pass for me. DOn't need anymore Obis, Vaders, or Yodas. I have enough Utapau troopers. Is the silver Sandtrooper the same as the one that came out a few years ago? If so, that's a pass too. So that just leaves the Kashyyyk trooper. I just need two of those Kashyyyk troopers to complete my goal. However, I'm not buying a set just for the one figure.
-
Looks like this may be a European exclusive. Saves us the shelf space ;D

That would be nice.

Wow, for once Hasbro is doing us a favor. Releasing a boxed set that does not contain any new figures.
I'm surprised there's not a new silver figure in there just to entice the completists.

Well technically if the helmet is removable then it is a newish figure...
That still remains to be seen though.
