Saga '02-'04 / Re: K*B Toys.com / Shuttle just marked down to $59.99!

Damn. If they'd have marked this down a few weeks ago I'd have jumped on it. Can't do it now with all this damn Christmas shopping I have yet to start.

Just what the world needs: more pissed off collectors. Rereleasing these is a pretty bad idea, IMO. If they're authentic vintage, that's fine, but if these are like the 1995 4-pack, no.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Christmas Songs that Suck
« on: December 7, 2003, 02:42 AM »
Ugh. I had to listen to the local country station while I took my grandmother Christmas shopping last week. (She doesn't drive.) Anyway, I was bashing my head into the steering wheel suffering these twits 'singing' Christmas songs. I felt so goddamn festive I could have puked.

It gets worse--my parents are giving my grandmother tix to a George Strait concert. It's in January, in Ames, IA. Guess who gets to take her there? Poor twisted me. Good god, mercy.

One thing that always gets my goat is when I'm sitting at the movie theater, and some idiot kicks the back of my seat. Damn, I hate that. >:(

I also hate people who park so goddamn close to me I can't get in my car. I'd throw my car door into the side of their car if I thought it wouldn't hurt my car.

Also on the **** list--dumbass cashiers who ask for an ID when I use my credit card. Never do I feel more offended. I don't even know why they need it. Maybe to see my studly mug in an unflattering picture. ::)

And people who cannot fathom the method of looking both ways before pulling across traffic. I just about broadsided an idiot in a Cavalier because he just shot out from the stop sign. What is it with Chevy Cavaliers and morons?

And finally, incapable bartenders who don't put the glass at an angle when drawing my Guinness. If you're gonna charge $3.50 for the draw, it better be hoppin'.

OK, now I feel better.

I was talking to the people I went with at a pizza joint, and they said that ever since Tool released 'Lateralus' that Maynard has had that spot on stage. I guess that means he does the same thing during Tool shows.

No. Maynard picked on moshers a lot, though. That's what we got here.

The crowd really didn't go ape**** until they played 'Judith'. I myself was hoping for a cover of 'Aenema' but it didn't happen.

Just got back from the A Perfect Circle show. Maynard spent the entire show on a platform set back further from the rest of the band. His face was difficult if not impossible to see due to his hair and position. The only way you could tell it was him was the voice or the tattoo on his back.

The show was about an hour and fifteen minutes, not counting the opening act, Den of Fools or something. They sucked. APC rocked.

I'll buy Arwen and Bilbo for my carded collection, for sure, as well as a few PEWs, provided they aren't one-per-case again.

My God, I cannot believe Toy Biz has the gall to repack Gollum and Smeagol. I am utterly speechless.

TB had better be hoping every person in the civilized world goes to see ROTK.

Also, does anyone know what insert Eowyn is on the back of in the ROTK soundtracks?  Thanks.

I'm going by theonering.net's gallery here, but I think it's Eomer. I bought the one with Frodo and Sam on front, and the back of my card was Gandalf the White.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Modern Masters of the Universe

The He-Store is now open. They're selling the swag by-the-case, but after the holidays, they're going to sell them individually.

There's a blurb on the .org's main page that's quite interesting, especially if you're looking forward to owning Clawful and his oft-mentioned ilk.

All in all, good news on the MOTU front for once.

This line has a hell of a lot of potential, but I guess TB is too busy making Wolverine, Gollum, and Spider-Man figures. Jerks.

Oh well. One, maybe two last sets of figures and that'll be it.

I'm going to see A Perfect Circle tomorrow. Yay!!

Hopefully the weather cooperates. We got about two inches of the white **** here last night.

I taped that ABC Primetime thing. They spent a lot of time on a scene where Gandalf is at Isengard. PJ is trying to get a closeup of Gandalf, and the wind is not cooperating.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that gets axed from the theatrical cut, since Saruman's rumored not to be in it. And if that is so, there's really no need for Gandalf to be there.
OK, this is making less sense as I go on, so, 12 days.
