...When you first remember seeing a Star Wars movie in a theatre?
- Seeing ESB when I was 5 years old, in 1980.

Was ESB in theater in 1980?

I believe it was ESB in 1980 and ROTJ in 1983.

Hurray! Ours just dropped from $3.39 back down to $2.99!!! ::)

I encourage all of you to voice your concerns about such matters to your elected officials. After all, they are there FOR THE PEOPLE. I do it all the time. I think if Michigans Senator's or Governor ever sees me in person they'll have me shot on sight!

Cool thread idea. I took the liberty, I hope you don't mind CHEWIE, to add a few milestones. Some may be more personal but it was an important milestone in my life nonetheless, and probably is in most of yours as well. Feel free to skip any if you're not comfortable devulging that information.

...When you got your first Star Wars figure?
- Back in 77, when the film came out. I was 10

...When you first remember seeing a Star Wars movie in a theatre?
- Star Wars, again, I was 10.

...Went to your first professional sports game?
- Pro-sports virgin here as well. I like collage sports! Let's put it this way, I saw Magic back in his MSU days.

...When you drank your first beer?
- I can't answer this one but, shame on me as I was far, far too young.

...Lost your virginity?
- 1986, I was 19, as well as a late bloomer.

...Moved away from home?
- 1990, I was 23, Mom and Dad wanted to kill me by this point, but they loved the rent I payed `em.

...Bought first brand new, not used, car?
- 2000, I was 33, again, late bloomer but always had other debt (see below).

...Bought first house?
- 1995, I was 28. Have since sold and built new. Plan to stay in current home.

...Found the love of your life (if you have yet)?
- 1989, I was 22, we married in `94, celebrating our 11th this year.

...Became a parent?
- 1997: Son Trevor Michael, and again in 2000: Daughter Rebecca Bronte'. THIS is what life's all about![/b]

...Lost a parent?
- My wife lost her Mother, I haven't lost any yet, thank God.

Pehaps that was a little more info that some of you needed or wanted. Sorry for that. I'm just real proud of my life despite it's flaws.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: NEW TIE Fighter

I checked all of my nearby, and not so nearby, Targets yesterday and none of them even had shelf tags for these. The one exclusive that I really want and I probably won't be able to find. It ******* figures! Hopefully the price on this will discourage at least one potential buyer thus allowing me to be able to find it eventually. ;)

Did you try giving them the SKU number? That's how I got mine, and I think alot of people are doing the same.

Thanks for your help LandotheScoundrel,  it got me one! I won't bore anyone with the story but I do have to say that, despite the fact that this ship has a heftier price tag and doesn't come with the pictured Pilot figure (what does it matter if you're going to keep him in the cockpit anyway), it still kicks ass! The PROPER scale wings are spectacular and makes this vehicle one of the best offerings in a long, long time! OT fans WILL NOT be dissapointed to add this to their vehicle collection. It is stunning when put next to any of the newer X-Wings.

Baspin Luke. What a cool figure that one is. Anyway, I actually found an Imperial Trooper (scanning tech guy) at a rinky-dink grocery store here in town. WTF is that about? He's probably still there. I can't imagine he'd sit there for a year only to dissapear now. Wasn't this one kinda rare being he came at the end of the line?

Revenge of the Sith / Re: EP3 Clonetroopers
« on: September 3, 2005, 09:43 AM »
And here's my list of Clones that I've been able to find:

III-06 Clone Trooper (v1 - White)
III-33 Clone Commander (v1 - Red)
III-38 AT-TE Gunner
III-41 Clone Trooper (v1 - White)
III-49 Commander Baccara (v1 - Maroon)
Target Exclusive Clone Trooper
III-34 Clone Pilot (v1 - Gray)

What's that rolling across the floor at my feet? Oh yeah, the ball Hasbro dropped on good Clone choices and distribution! And where the hell is Commander Cody? What in God's name is Hasbro's reason for NOT giving us a Commander Cody in the ROTS line? Damn! The guy even had a speaking role and camaraderie with one of the main characters of the film!!!

Saga Collection '06 / Re: 2005 Holiday Figure - Vader?
« on: September 3, 2005, 09:34 AM »
I haven't been able to aquire any of the Chrismas Star Wars figures so, unfortunately, I won't even bother trying in the future. These things are usually harder to come by than most exclusives. I've said it a million times before and I'll say it again, It's a shame Hasbro fails time and time again to put product in my hands that I would gladly pay to have.

Not knowing alot about SS other than what I was able to glean here I have to say that this news concerning 12" figures is fantastic. For far too long I've been wanting a good 12" figure but had to settle with Star Wars Barbies and Ken's if I wanted anything. Needless to say the small assortment of 12" items I do have consists mainly of Droids and aliens. I couldn't even bring myself to buy any of the Stromtroopers... what a shame.

Hasbro's 12" outings were way over priced as far as I'm concerned, again, considering they were nothing more than glorified Barbie dolls. That being said, the thought of paying $40-$60 for high-end collectible 12" action figure that bears striking resemblences to the actual characters, with proper proportions, as well as having tons of articulation (posability) and accesories gives me wood!

Bring on the likes of E3 Anakin, Obi, Commander Cody and Grevious! Grevious. Can you imagine a SS version of Grevious? Wow! Oh my God, Clones! Imagine the Clone and Stormy potential! I may faint. ;D

I don't like the lightsaber-in-the-arm thing. Otherwise the set looks to kick some serious ass!

My local K Mart is in the process of resetting (for Xmas I guess) and now the Star Wars section is considerably bigger, yet still empty, but the good news is that now tags for the "5pc sets" for $24.99 are on the shelf. I'll be checking every day to get one of these, perhaps two. I plan to get an extra set in hopes of trading it for a Shocktrooper, Zett, AT-RT Driver, Pilot Obi-Wan and Black Clone Pilot as these have managed to completely elude us, so far, here in Michigan. ;)

I saw Motley Crue near Detroit last wednesday, three bands opened for them, I can only remember the name of the band Silvertide (I really liked this bands sound). The whole show absolutely rocked! Unfortunately Motley cut Too Young To Fall In Love, Helter Skelter and Tommy's Drum Solo (no big loss here as I never really liked his techno-bull****). They sounded a little ruffer than they did when I saw them at The Palace back in March.  For that show, back at the very beginning of the tour, I'd never heard Vince sound so damn good. And I've seen Crue on almost every tour since 1984. I'm still not sure why they changed the name of the tour midstream from Red White and Crue 2005 Tour to Carnival Of Sins Tour 2005??? Oh well, they still kicked ass! ;D

I definitely agree with you Chewie. Those places off the beaten path occasionally offer nice rewards.

Since those Kohl's finds came in a couple months back I've  made them a regular part of my runs. Best of all, my wife shops at Kohl's frequently so she does it for me.

Also found Commanders, AT-TE Gunners, Pilots at Kroger stores. My local Kroger even has a minty OTC Imperial Trooper on the pegs (saw it last night). That blew my mind as I thought he was kinda hard to find.

You can expect $4.00 per gallonn soon.

Yeah, I thought my town being at $3.39 was bad, I just learned from my local news network (out of Lansing) that some folks in Northern Lower Michigan and in the Upper Peninsula have already reached $4.00 a gallon . Ain't that a bitch!!!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Toy Runs affected by Gas Prices?
« on: August 31, 2005, 10:05 AM »
It already has effected me. I live in a remotely small town that has a K Mart and a Wal*Mart but both stores stock new items few and far between. The Wal*Mart literally restocks three or four times a year (on the off year five or six times) while the K Mart does only two or three times. Unfortunately the rest of the stores in the bigger towns/cities are at least thirty minutes away from me and for me to make a sweep of all stores takes the better part of five hours. Gas here in Mid-Michigan was at $2.65 for a few weeks then yesterday morning (Tuesday) most chains made the jump to $2.99.

Now I know a lot of things factor into the price of gasoline (Holiday weekend, the war, Katrina, etc), but a thirty four cent jump over nite for all of central lower Michigan is just ****** up! Fortunately I pay attention  and new it was coming and was able to fill both vehicles before the rise. It also helps that my wife and I work locally so the work-driving time is at a minimum.  Sadly, I think the days of random, long-haul, toy runs are over for me.
