Niiiiiice Matt!  Dig the new carded figure display there with the full Silver set, and the Clone Wars one too!  How'd you snag the Value Pack displays?  That's awesome!  Tough to get store displays like that, so great job on that score!

Of course, having seen your Arena display in person, I'd have to say that the pictures don't do it true justice.  That's a great diorama!

Keep 'em comin'...   8)

Very nice!
I wish I had the guts to open, but I stopped opening in the middle of Empire. Even when I buy a duplicate of something awesome to open. It really hurts to open it!

Thanks for the reply.  Well my collection is not that large, and I now just collect stuff I like.  I am free from being a completist!  JM it's been a while, I can't go back.  Plus I'm looking to purchase a home.

Welcome to the board.

Sure,

It's not much, but that would be great.

I'll try to add some more pictures this weekend, and I'll let you know.

-edit-

Let's wait, I will take some better pictures and get them posted on webshots by next week.  I just realized how bad the quality of some of the photos I took are.

(teaser)

Sweet pickup on the cabinet there Matt.  Looks nice!  So I see you moved your whole loose vintage figure collection in there.  What happened to the other cabinet you just made specifically for those?  I think that other one displayed them all a little better, since they were much more spread out...  Anything else you could stick on those new shelves if you put the Vintage ones back in the prior case, or is the old case just scrap now?

Nice to see Amazon already hooked you up with your new Action Fleet there too!   8)  Cool tat there as well...   :P

The figures look fine when you see them in person in the new display case.  I gave my friend the other case, it will find good use.

Those ships are sweet in the new boxes.

Take care,

a) Carded B-Wing Pilot
b) Carded Klaatu
c) Yak Face, Amanaman, A-Wing Pilot, Luke Poncho, Han in Carbonite and, Lando General.  (only need a few accessories, R2 pop-up and Warok to complete my loose "100" in High Grade Collection.

DBK--Nice pics, I really like the looks of your collection.  Plus, I really like how your collection/room overall has a nice "clean" look to it.  That is something I'm always trying to work for as well, keeping my collection looking "neat" and not starting to seem over-cluttered.  Definitely some nice ideas from your pics there.  Nice!

Nice additions.  I tell you, its those group shots of the Kubricks that kill me and really try to lure me into that line.  Just the Han for now, wish I could afford more...and especially wish that Chewie was more easily attainable (and cheaper).  Once again, nice collection DBK.

Nice setup there DBK!  Do you mostly just collect the "specialty" pieces of the modern line, or is that just what you put in your display cabinet there?

I assume that's the vintage wind-up R2 from Japan there.  What kind of deal to you pull on that one?  I take it he was loose, with no card?  Nice pickup.

I really like that framed set of comics too.  Nice touch!

mosnab,

Common join the Kubrick Fun ;D!  Thanks for the kinds words.

Snively Bander,

I got the Takara R2 for $60.00 loose, the walking mechanism works great.  Yes, I only collect certain pieces in the modern line mainly because vintage is where it's at sentimentally for me and I do not have the $$$!  Thanks for taking time to look and the kind words.

Happy Thanksgiving,

I always thought that pic was cool as well, and it actually motivated me to watch ebay for a few comics like that to frame.  I just thought the display looked so nice in your pics, and that's something I'd like to do someday as well.  Nice idea.

DBK- Nice pics as always.  I have always liked looking at your collection, and can appreciate your motives for narrowing things down.  Your overall collection has always been one of my favorites, because it has such a nice "clean" look to it, and you can tell you really appreciate your individual focus areas.  I try to keep mine looking clean like that as well, and I know my wife would love it if I could contain my whole collection in one case like you have there (which looks nice, by the way).  I do enjoy much of the modern stuff too though, and don't think I could ever get rid of it (or at least all of it).  I've definitely been trying a harder lately to focus things in though, like you have, and have a nice, neat, clean looking collection.  Space is becoming an issue, as well as money spent on it and other priorities in general.  I could definitely see where you would appreciate it more as well.  I'm sure there are many of us here who sometimes have a tough time remembering what we even do or do not have, myself included sometimes ;).  Anyways, very nice collection, always cool to see updated pics too.

I couldn't agree more.  Matt's collection/display has always been one of my favorites, because I enjoy the nice, clean, "uncluttered" look as well.  I'd like to have my display looking much the same, but I've got way too much stuff out now for that :P.

Scott, Brent, DarkKnight2k4,

Thanks for the nice comments.  Regarding the home...really average for "our neck of the woods."  Wifey is super cool in letting me get the pool table and plasmas and keep 75% of the home "flower less".  Notice there is no pictures on the bedroom or both my boys rooms.  My kids rooms are a mess in my opinion and I stay out of there.

The bedroom has a flowery bedspread, chest and pictures :-X!  Good thing I spend most of my time sleeping in there.  Can you tell I'm not a big fan of flowery decorations.  I know...I'm spoiled and lucky.

Brent,

No more toys...trimming the collection down felt oh so good.  Try it it  ;D.  I did and used the dollars to get other toys  ???.

DBK - I don't know how I missed the update to this thread, but I'll echo the comments on the beautiful home and collection.  Like I've mentioned before, I've always liked the clean, simple look of your collection - and there are times I wish I had the guts to cut back to a more simple display like that, and get rid of a bunch of stuff.  It looks great.  You have my wife and I's dream house too the way it looks, quite spiffy.
