The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Episode III Title?
« on: May 10, 2004, 03:54 PM »
 Balance of the Force!

balance of the force is the neame of my yahoo group  ;)
But I read over at tf.n this:
EP3: Episode III Title Revealed?
Mon, May 10, 04 03:33:47 PM EDT

Although we're not expecting a title announcement until August or so, we've heard rumblings that BIRTH OF THE EMPIRE is the favorite of the moment. In fact, mockups of movie posters and licensed merchandise are using that working title as of this week, so we fully suspect Lucasfilm is preparing to announce the title (whatever it may be) very soon. Would you like that? Initial reaction here is positive, but we're still hesitant because another SW movie would have "of the" in the title. BotE?

we shall see soon...

Well I'll add my .02 worth.
With TPM I didn't mind a 10 year old kid as anakin but I wondered since nothing special was happening with him, why start at that age? I think that the introduction to Anakin would have been better around the AotC time frame, of this young jedi padawan who shows exceptional skill and ability - so much that masters yoda and windu can't explain his abilities. IMHO tpm is essentially pointless to the over all star wars saga. It had cool parts like the podrace and final lightsaber tri-duel between qgg, obi and maul. But I remember thinking when I first saw it, 'it doesn't seem like "star wars" to me'.  But 16 years of expectations is hard to live up to. I think AotC was much better - story, acting and dialoge (though still not on the level of lotr or matrix) but way better than tpm. But the acting and dialoge in the OT weren't shakspear either. Oh well it's just a movie.  ;)

I read today at tf.n about 'rise of the empire' and personally I do like it. I wasn't thrilled with 'the phantom menace' and at first hated 'attack of the clones'. I think with the OT titles, they summarized the chapter that movie depicted: 'a new hope', 'the empire strikes back' and 'return of the jedi'.
I didn't think aotc fit the movie.
But in reality, whatever they call it, I'm gonna go see it and buy it and watch it a million times over.  :)

from theforece.net: Grievous confirmed:

EP3: General Grievous Officially Confirmed
Fri, Feb 13, 04 03:41:47 PM EST

In an official Lucasarts press release for the upcoming game "Republic Commnado", we finally got confirmation of a character that has been long discussed among spoiler junkies:

Marin County, Calif. - February 13, 2004 - Enter the covert world of the Star Wars infantry for the first time and become a member of an elite Republic Special Operations unit in LucasArts new squad based first-person shooter, Star Wars Republic Commando. Set during the Clone Wars, between Attack of the Clones and the upcoming Star Wars: Episode III, Star Wars Republic Commando will be released fall 2004 for the PC and Xbox® video game system from Microsoft.
Mission briefings set the tone in this dark first-person shooter, as players lead their squads on a variety of assignments such as hostage rescue, infiltration/data retrieval, elimination, assault, sabotage and reconnaissance operations. Your three-man team is controlled through an intuitive and accessible "smart squad" command system, based on squad markers and stances. The game features more than fifteen levels, with exercises covering both familiar and new Star Wars settings and characters, including the introduction of the mysterious General Grievous and his deadly bodyguards from the upcoming Star Wars: Episode III.

Hey panther fan here again, I'm getting more psyched as the day goes on. Got a party to go to tomorrow so I'll be with some fans to watch the game.
I'm not arrogant enough to claim outright that the Panthers will win, cause relaly, no one knows until it's over. But I'm rooting big time for the Panthers.
And I have a friendly request to the mods, I have worked my photoshop magic on a cool pic for the Panthers. So IF they win, would you guys humor me and what other Panthers' fans are here by posting my custom pic? I can email it IF you want.

Fan Art / Fan Fiction
« on: January 27, 2004, 04:46 PM »
Wasn't exactly sure where to post this. I remember last year a group of people here, including myself were going to write a Clone Wars story. Only a little done with it at the time.
I continue to write SW fan fiction and have recently started a new short story based on a mission with an ARC trooper squad.  If there is any interest I can post it here. Also if the story we started last year is still in the works, I'd be interested.

thanks :)

The Wookiee Arcade / Re: New Jedi Academy ScreenShots
« on: January 27, 2004, 04:33 PM »
I just finished playing jedi academy. it was a really good game and I will probably try it again on a harder level. good graphics, good sound, good story, pretty much everything one could ask for. makes me wish I could design a game, though.
oh well I'll buy the next in the series whenever it comes out.

I was tryin gto dis you guys, just be a fan who is THRILLED beyond belief that the Panthers are in the SB.. But I hope it is a good game and not a blow out, by either team.  IT'll be defense against defense plus maybe a turn over or two.

I have to reply OCB that I think the Pats are a little over rated but as any teams' fan should defend them, I still believe in the Panthers. No ONE ever considerd the Panthers to beat the lambs or the iggles but they DID! So it's no surprise no one even thinks the panthers have a chnace agaisnt the Pats. I expect a good game from both teams and think it go down to another down to the wire Cardiac Cats finish!!!
