With a little thinner and some patience I was able to fix the forehead of Lando. Now this guy is looking suave and not at all neaderthalish...



Also took a silver sharpie to a spare Deathtrooper pistol to make a suitable replacement for Lando’s cannon sidearm. Now the holster can actually function.

Opened Lando this afternoon and while the figure is visually pleasing overall, there could have been a couple of things done better. As already mentioned, the blaster muzzle is huge and doesn't allow the blaster to work with the Holster. Had they made the muzzle removable like in the 6" line that would have been great.

The paint app on my head is weird, the creases in his forehead have been painted with this new print tech and it just is awkward. I have to find a way to clean it up. Speaking of cleanup, they printed the product code and timestamp on the right leg in a spot where it's visible from the front.

It's disappointing that these small details continue to be missed, but at least with a little work I can correct them all

Though Star Wars started in the 70s, I have always considered it an 80s line. But I can also see it where it would not be considered an 80s line when compared to those other 3. TMNT is also definitely an 80s line.

Just left my local Target and asked someone to run the assortment DPCI (087-16-8221). Not only did they not have any in stock and none of the other stores were listed as having any in stock, but the DPCI has been marked in their system as discontinued. If that is accurate across the nation, then it is possible that Target has ran thru their allotment and there will be no more until they hit the fan channel outlets later this year. This would line up with something I noticed last night that searching “Star Wars retro collection “ on the Target app no longer shows these figures. I know folks are still finding them in store, but I have a feeling that this is the end of it for now.

This definitely improved my interest in the Stormtrooper Han. I had ordered 2 to hedge my bets on the helmet deco. I might just keep the 2nd one now.

After being disappointed that they didn’t use the new Stormtrooper body for this figure, i only picked up one. And that was primarily for the helmet and the head. I had intended to put the head on a VOTC ANH Han, but the skin tones don’t match and I don’t feel like painting the ANH Han. So the next best thing was to swap heads with TVC Bespin Han - that one HS an atrocious face sculpt. Now this figure is much much better...



The head peg needed some modifying to get the head to fit, but totally worth the effort.

The reports circulating today about a Father’s Day display with all 4 exclusives  in the men’s clothing section are accurate. I got my set of Retro figures today in such a section and saw the Tarkin, TVC, and TBS sets as well. Also some non-SW video games as well.

Well I got a replacement Jabba in the mail today and he is not more eye pleasing. As you can see, not only does the replacement have less weathering/detailing than my first one, he has a big paint blemish above his mouth and to the side of the left nostril. Plus damaged paint and poor application elsewhere. I am not happy with how this turned out, but also don’t think going to Hasbro is beneficial to anyone. Sigh, FML as the kids say...
