I was already pretty sure I wouldn't buy it - but that pack-in is so lame that the clearance price that it would take for me to buy one is getting lower and lower.

I'm thinking $20 or $30 tops, and you can bet that visor would never be raised.

Rebelscum requires it.  500 posts and that's it.  The issue started when they converted their old software to the new software - the old War and Politics (somethingl ike 10,000 posts at the time) wouldn't open.  They blamed it on the new software and started us a new thread from scratch.

And that's been the rule ever since.

The software CAN handle bigger threads - ours in the local DFW section went well over 500 without incident, but for some reason they still insist on making part 3, part 4, part 9 of certain threads.

Baffling.

Yeah, I learned my lesson on stuff like this when I shelled out $155.00 for an EXCLUSIVE and LIMITED TO 5,000 Imperial Shuttle that later ended up at kbkids for $60.00.

I just can't believe our software doesn't require us to make a 'part 2' thread when we get to 500 posts on a topic.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy that i didnt need to buy this thing. Now i have to reconsider for a figure.  :-[

If you do, you'll just be encouraging more of these dirty tactics to sell you the same vehicle twice.

I'm passing unless it can be had for less than half the price at some point.

And I really, really hope that's not supposed to be a Jango-face under there.

I'm only speculating.  It also seems to me that every time they put a new pack-in into the line, that's when the price of a figure jumps a dollar or more.  Commtech Chips, These Holograms, Flashback cards... etc...   Which makes me wonder if the price increases are to offset the costs of making the pack-ins, or if the pack-ins are used as an inexpensive way to legitimize raising the price.

I'm guessing the second.

In his first game he playd in that other league, he was drilled in the back with a fastball.

And that should happen every time he steps to the plate.

A true martyr for the sport, willing to take this kind of punishment in the name of fairness and justice.

It's rare that you see this kind of passion for the game.

I for one wish they'd stick to one type longer - at very least keep them black.

My walls looks more like a rainbow than a toy collection with the Orange, purple, green, yellow, red, darker green, blue, gold, white, and now black cards...

::) yet another attention demanding book. Why do I draw the similarities between a certain Korean president and Canseco?

All the first book did was cause a witchhunt. I'll bet alot are scoffing at this attention demanding 'threat'. I'm sure they're all trembling over the fallout :P.

'I'm gonna telll, I'm gonna telllllll'...... ::), please

Like I said, if there's something to tell, then it's a good goddamn thing that someone's got the guts to do that.  Even if that someone is a showboating maroon.

Thank God someone's finally willing to set personal gain aside and do what's best for the league!   :-X

Although if half of what he says is true - then my sarcasm would be misplaced...

"As far as stands and holographs, I personally have to disagree that they're a minor cost Rob, but that's just my POV.  That's 12 mold toolings just for the holo's...  "

It's possible, I'm not an expert - I just look at it like this, you pay someone to make 12 low-quality sculpts (comparatively not that expensive) and then you just have to make a single mold of each.  No moving parts, no assembly, no paint, no anything.  It's a one time cast - and the tooling can't be all that big a deal on just one piece.  Hell, one of our maquette sculptors could make those at work in a day or two from scratch if he had the right kind of plastic to inject into a mold.

Okay, here goes my list...

1) VOTC Stormtrooper - duh.
2) VOTC Biker Scout - duh
3) SA Sandtrooper
4) Evolutions Sandtrooper
5) Evolutions SA EII Clone
6) EIII SA Clone
7) TIE Fighter Pilot (OTC)
8) Rebel Fleet Trooper (Just seeing if Jesse was paying attention).
8) Evolutions Clone Commander
9) EII Clone (Clone Wars)
10) AT-AT Driver (TSC)

8803
The holos and stands probably aren't that expensive in the long run - because they a) have no moving parts and b) are one shot deals.  They sculpt the stand once, sculpt each holograph once, and then just spit lots of them out.  Creating all the tooling for individual elbows and shoulders and knees on individual figures costs a lot more in the long run than a few cheapo pack-ins.

8804
Sure it is.  They say that they're absorbing the extra costs for ball joints and the like on certain figures by not doing so on others.

Why would they spend a bunch on Snowtroopers when they're working on a SA version.  They're just trying to milk the one they have for whatever they can before it becomes utterly obsolete.

8805
For the life of me, it makes no ******* sense to give a figure like Garindan 12 points of articulation with ball jointed shoulders, but in the same year reissue a figure like the Snowtrooper, kit bash it with a previous snowtrooper, and still give this trooper who was involved in perhaps the biggest ground battle of the original trilogy just 6 points of articulation, and still totally unable to hold his weapon in a firing pose.  And that was Hasbro's 4th attempt at this figure!

I don't get it.

In one of the recent Q&A's Hasbro sort-of addressed this.  They basically said that they have to balance the amount of articulation they can give a certain wave...based on cost.

Here's the response they gave:

"** For the most part, its much more expensive to produce figures with the ball joints. Every figure we do is a balaning act between articulation, deco, accessories and the overall complexion of the wave. We add articulation where we can afford it and where it makes the most sense for each figure, but ball joints are not going to become the standard on Star Wars for the reasons stated."
