Geez I m gone for 5 days and I miss tons of great updates from you and Chewie! :) They all look good DD I agree the ithorian Jedi would look better if you widened the cuffs on the pants a bit but they are all great!! I'm looking forward to your next update! :)

Yeah, Chewie and I both had a LOT of updates this week.

Hopefully I will get inspired and come up with a few great ones by this weekend.  ;D

ARC Commander Alpha-Work in progress
« Reply #167 on: April 28, 2005, 09:09 PM »
This is just a basic custom. Took me 30 minutes, tops.

Here's some pics of Alpha (from Dark Horse's Clone Wars era comics) as he appears in OBSESSION #5.

I am looking to redo this in a blue that is more like the bright color Hasbro uses on their clones. Any suggestions? When I have the correct shade, I'll also paint his kama (the gun skirt) blue like in the comic. I'm also going to give him a Jango head and a removable helmet before I'm finished. I'll probably also detail the gun.

I'll also be making a Super-Poseable Alpha (Episode II style) once I pick up my EE clones this weekend.

A simple custom, but effective, I think. Now I want CHEWIE to do one so he can make a cameo in a photonovel.   ;)

You only spent 30 minutes on that?   :o

Looks very well done... I would stick with the shade of blue that you used.  I think they look a little more b@d@ss in that dark blue color.

I was thinking about doing this myself... but I have been way too lazy to do so lately... when I do, I will try and replicate your excellent work.  I might add a touch of dry brush to weather him... but yours looks damn great without it.

And yeah, if I make one he'll make a photonovel appearance.   :)

Nicely done repaint, he looks slick, nice straight lines and solid color. Now all he need is a removeable helmet. Good Work, and keep it up!! :)

The lines came out so neat and straight, I think I'm going to keep this Alpha clean...but I'll probably do another weathered and battle-damaged. (Providing I find some more Clone Commanders!)

I have a friend who I need to do a few of the 501st for, so I may not have another custom for a few days while I do those. I'll post pics of them when finished, if people aren't bored with clones yet.

Wookiees and clones, that's all people will think I do anymore. ;D

I just started this today, but now I can't leave it alone. I dremeled out the helmet and added the articulated Jango head. Here's the updated pic.

I've always dug this character, but I am really happy with this custom so far.

It looks great! That paint is so smooth and clean with no brush strokes, it is really well done. I may have to make this one now too. ;) I made a Gree after I saw yours. Don't think I'm not original at all, you've just done such a goo job on the last couple customs you've done I had to do afew of my own. :)

Don't worry, SLC, there is no greater compliment than to have someone look at something you've done and then say, "I'm making that!"

I do that with Chewie's stuff all the time. He posts it, and I look at it and start nodding "Yup, I need one of those!" It happened over on RS with this custom a guy did with a Clone Jet Trooper...not only am I going to do a custom like it, I'm going to give him the same name.  ;)

BTW, CHEWIE, I loved your comments on RS. I think maybe part of the reason I did the head so quick was to show that I could make a figure with a removable helmet.  You and Glassman were all over that, picked it up right away! I'm going to put this on E-Bay with a "Buy it Now" price of Eleventy Billion Dollars.  ;D

I kid! I kid, because I love!

You did a great job.  I love this figure.  There's several things that you've made that I want to replicate too.

Did you use the helmet from the AT-TE gunner, or a dremeled out Clone #6 helmet?

Adventures in casting
« Reply #179 on: April 29, 2005, 10:47 PM »
All right...I've made the test molds, and did my first test casting. Here's what came of it.

The Bith and Myo heads I cast had air bubbles in them, unfortunately, so those didn't some out as well...but I plan on casting parts the rest of the night, so we'll see what happens. Next week I'm going to create some new molds: Ree-Yees, Greedo Rodian, POTF Greedo Rodian, Jedi 3-pack Rodian, Ishi Tib heads, Nikto heads, OTC Bossk heads, Bust-up Bossk heads (What can I say, I like Trandoshans) clone heads, Jango's head, POTF Zuckuss, and my custom Commander Cody helmet.

It'll be a big week.  ;D
