I find South Park to be one of my only guilty pleasures in life. I look forward to every new episode, I always wath re-runs unless there's a show on I can't catch again, etc.
I just really like good old South Park, and I feel we should have a good South Park thread going.
So, did anyone catch tonight's new episode?
It revolved around Miss Paris Hilton, that bastion of morality and ethics. :)
Great ending too. Mr. Slave has become a truly valued character. I thought he was a short-term thing, but he's become incredibly funny within the show.
Thoughts (of any kind) on South Park anyone?
-
I really like South Park, although my wife has banned it so I rarely get to watch it anymore.
She seems to think that the animated style coupled with the *ahem* adult language and themes might have a bad influence on our five year old.
Sheesh.
But I love it, and count SP: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut as one of the finest films ever. It's the "Candide" of the twenty-first century.
-
I was just coming here to start a thread of my own, Jesse! Wierrrrrrd!
Last night's episode was great. I love the way they're able to mercilessly rip on celebs and somehow not get their asses sued over it. I love the Lemmiwinks song used for Paris Hilton at the end, with the little "stupid whore" thrown in right before the credits. South Park kicks ass!
-
I have watched South Park since it first aired. Great show & a laugh a second. They have been showing the episodes at 2 am here & on my lunch break, South Park. A few weeks ago they started them all over from season 1, what a hoot!
I haven't seen any of the new episodes yet but will be looking forward to seeing them.
I miss Kenny, those bastards! :'(
What-evah! I'll do what I waunt! :D

Last night's episode was really good. South Park is the nastiest, funniest, craziest show on TV. I am surprised they are able to play the movie on Comedy Central without getting nailed for it.
-
Watching the movie right now, actually.
I've loved South Park since I was in third grade, so you could say I'm corrupted.
-
SP's definitely NOT for children... Especially after watching last night's episode, that's a more solid truth than ever. Still, it's usually not on till late so the kiddies aren't generally up to watch it anyway... Or not the kiddies around me.
SPthe movie is really vulgar, but definitely entertaining. Not as generally creative as single episodes can be though, like Mr. Hanky's X-Mas episode, or the Underpants gnomes, etc... The movie was kind of a mix of a lot of different aspects introduced throughout the series into one big mess.
Sadam Hussein was one of the greatest characters ever introduced though, and he came from the film.
"Heeeeeey Satan" ***up pops... something*** ;D When I saw that in theaters, that was one of the loudest laughter bursts I've ever heard in a theater. Too funny. Then he did it again and it was even funnier.
If I had the $ I'd buy up the DVD sets... Unfortunately I miss them when they're on sale all the time. :(
-
Pfffffft, didn't have anegative effect on me. Of course, maybe that has to do with me not taking it literally...
Non the less SP is integrated into our contemporary culture. It's just a shame a larger portion of the viewership dosen't get it.
-
I only recently started watching South Park (Around late last year). Sometimes I rank it higher than Family Guy on the scale of funniness...
Everyone around here seems convinced that the best episode ever is the one where Butters is the star, and follows his dad to a gay jerk off club. Me personally, I want to see the George Lucas parody episode where he screws with Raiders of the Lost Arc... ;)
-
Although slightly antiquated technologicaly, and as much as I enjoy the newer ones, the originals still rule. I remember when I was the only person who knew about Mr.Hankey...*looks whistfully into the distance*
-

I saw that episode, I was on the floor. (http://www.telusplanet.net/public/djustus/rofl.gif)

Sadam Hussein was one of the greatest characters ever introduced though, and he came from the film.
Saddam Hussein's first appearance was on the infamous "April Fool's Day" episode, where everyone was supposed to find out who Cartman's father was, but instead was a whole episode of Terrance and Phillip called Not Without My Anus. That's why he has the Terrance & Phillip style head, where the top of his head bounces around on his jaw (Ike, Canadians) when he talks.
One of the best episodes ever, in my opinion.
-
D'oh, correct amundo... I forgot his beginnings there. Having just seen the movie on Secret Stash, I was thinking that was his opening scene.
-
Guilty as charged!!
Love this show first found it when switching channels , it was the big gay al episode, that show pushes so many boundaries
I think one of my favourite ones was the lord of the rings episode where butters got the porno movie and it became his "precious" that was priceless
-
Lord of the Rings one is great.
When token comes out and says "That's it... I'm done...", claps his hands and holds them up and then goes in his house.
Then later when the parents confront him, try to explain "love & sex", and his reply... Absolutely classic.
Cartman's remark to the kids playing Harry POtter was great too. :)

I so don't remember that episode, what season was that?
I've been a fan of South Park since the beginning when it was truly just crude (the art not the language :P). I remember searching all over for the Xmas card that started it all and then being bummed when I was without cable for a few months and couldn't see it. I just picked up the first two seasons on dvd recently and can't wait to relive those episodes in all of their glory.
Oh and this week's episode was just great, about time something on tv shows Paris Hilton for what she truly is, a talentless and worthless skank!
And via the link DSJ provided, a South Park version of me that I made a while back....

It was the episode called "Free Hat", season 6.

Tonight's episode...
Not their best work really. I don't know what the motivation was for the "psychic detective" episode... Is there something going on with these in the media? What I mean is, usually South Park makes fun of something "current", but tonight it just seemed like they picked a topic and ran with it.
Either way it was funny for what it was. Cartman's drop was great... The psychic fights were funny too.
Any similar thoughts? It was just an odd filler episode it seemed, but funny for what it was... Just not memorable I guess.
-
There's nothing about psychics that I can recall in the news recently either. However, I am disapointed that they killed off Mrs.Crabtree.
-
She wasn't being utilized a lot... If it ushers in someone interesting/new... I dunno.
She could just reappear though too.
-
DSJ: I think I remember that episode now, the kids followed Spielberg into the desert right?
Last night's episode wasn't too bad, wasn't overly funny though either. Did get a kick out of Cartman falling off the roof though. Speaking of unused characters, what happened to Officer Barbrady? I've not seen him in a long time, now when they need cops they use those detective guys.
-
Yeah, that's true. I think he's still around, but those detective guys have taken over since the Michael Jackson episode. Hmmm
Cartman's thud off the roof was indeed the best part of last night i think. Very good TV. :)
-
Oh my...
I missed this past week's episode but caught it this very early morning (3 a.m., yikes) after helping my girl with her X-Mas shopping.
Great episode... Christmas Critters.
I was really perplexed by the whole thing till it cut to Cartman... I'll leave it at that incase you've not caught it yet, but it's a great episode. Santa kicking ass in a South Park episode once again.
This more than made up for last weeks sorta "eh" episode. Very funny, very creative... Not breaking anyone's balls in the public limelight, but just a funny X-Mas episode. Great stuff, and very true to the Mr. Hanky intro episode in just being original, weird, and extremely funny. :)
-
Just finished watching the Paris Hilton episode, yeah it finally aired up here. What a hoot. ;D

They don't air the same time for you Canuckleheads, Dale?
I didn't realize... I wouldn't post "Spoilers", for lack of a better term, if I'd known.
That's a great episode to me... Probably my favorite recent one, however my friend argues that the "You Got Served" episode was tops for the last year at least.
-
I don't think there air at the same time, it used to play Friday nights on our local station but I have not seen it listed for along time. I catch it on our Comedy channel & they air from Mon to Fri. and they had it listed as new. Looks like Fridays are the new shows and the rest of the week are reruns.
Sorta of the same with the new Battlestar Galactica series, it aired on Friday night in the US and it will air up here tonight on our SciFi channel.
SP spoilers don't bother me, makes me look forward to seeing them. ;)

I haven't watched South Park in a long time & just happened to catch Major Boobage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfwLELcjG84), what a great tribute to Heavy Metal. :D
If you missed it, have a looky (http://tvshack.net/tv_shows/South_Park/season_12/episode_3/). ;D

Does anyone know how I can save the character I created like DSJ and CorranHorn did? I can't figure it out.
Thanks.

Take a screen shot (print screen button) and open the image up in an image editing software program (Photoshop, Paint, etc). Use the paste feature onto a new image, crop/tweak from there and go ahead and save it as a jpg, etc.

I actually couldn't get that to work, so I wound up taking a digital picture with a camera of the screen and hosting it on a website.
Thanks for the quick reply though, I was using the image to pull a gag on someone.

I thought last night's episode was hilarious! Thanks for resurrecting the South Park thread...I couldn't find it last night.
-
Don't get to watch this show as often as I like, but it is hilarious. One of my favorites is the Super Best Friends episode with David Blaine.
-
Re: last night's episode
I think Cartman's version of Lady GaGa's "Poker Face" is the best South Park song I've heard in a long, long time.
-
I thought the whole episode was great. I watch Whale Wars and I think they were a little hard on Paul Allen, but still were pretty close and the end with the chickens and cows being killed making them normal was hilarious.
-
I'd like to get back into this show, but I never seem to be able to catch it when it's on. I have all the DVD sets, but ya - that's a lot of watching at one time.
-
New episodes now...wednesdays at 10 pm.
-
Being a Miami Dolphins fan, I thought the part where the Japanese killed the Miami Dolphins players was hilarious! :D ;D

Agreed.
A coworker and I have been playing it via YouTube here at work since yesterday. Even after numerous playings, it's still hilarious.

Thanks for the tip Diddly, but I'm still living in the 90's stone age with dial up at home. :-[

Just wanted to bump this thread to say that the first 10 minutes of last night's episode was the hardest I've laughed in a long, long time.
Shame the second half of the episode sucked.
-
RIP Parker & Stone (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/36696093/ns/entertainment-television/) ?
-
I watched the episode last night and it was pretty lame as every time they said the prophet's name it was beeped out making the episode pretty much unwatchable at the end. Guess they were too lazy though to censor the closed captioning as that still aired unedited. ::)
-
I'll have to watch it on close caption then.
-
So if you missed tonight's South Park, do yourself a favor and check out the replay tomorrow night. The Jersey Shore invades South Park, and well I won't spoil anything.
-
This was the first South Park episode I've watched in a while and it was funny as hell.
E...
-
It was good for sure. It helps if you've seen Jersey Shore too, makes it kind of funnier.
-
I will not watch the Jersey Shore. I'm pretty sure I lost a piece of my soul just knowing who Pauly D, The Situation, Jwoww and Snookie are.
But I'm not going to lie, Jwoww is kinda hot.
E...
-
Again I say, you kinda have to watch the show... JWow without make-up is nothing to look at but a set of tittays. She's really quite ugly without make-up on. The girl named Sammi is the only one who's actually pretty cute. The rest, blech.
Yes, I've watched... I like watching them fight for some reason, which they do all the time. It's quite fun if you like watching people who live a trainwreck of a life daily. Kind of like Celebrity rehab without constant vomiting.
-
Funny as all hell
-
I did not really like the Al Qaeda part until the very end.
-
New season started tonight and I laughed so hard it hurt!
-
I gotta start reading those iTunes agreements! :-X
-
The Human Centipede (http://anythinghorror.com/2010/05/06/movie-review-the-human-centipede-2009/) is actually a real move. :-X
-
I havent laughed that hard in ages
-
I had never seen the Shake Weight episode (aired before the season premiere) - amazing how fortunes are made in America. . .
