On to round 10.

I'm liking Jamie's goaltending corps.

I passed on Vokoun because I didn't want Jamie to hate me.

Dammit!!!  You won't like this either Brent:

I also did not take Vokoun because I didn't want to stab one of my best friends in the back.  As a result, I will round out my goalie core and select...

Thanks for the link Jason.  Suffice to say I'm a bit sad about that one, but it's a risk I took.  It's also why I selected Spezza before rounding out the rest of my starters.  I'm guessing no one will complain if I cheat and snag a free agent before I tell the rest of you that free agency is open :P

We're officially stalled out now until Jeff returns.  Great job of getting picks in so far though, we're better than halfway through.

I'm guessing no one will complain if I cheat and snag a free agent before I tell the rest of you that free agency is open :P

Um, I'm not really sure how that affects my upcoming picks.  Does that mean we can select unsigned players (but couldn't before)?

Once our draft is done and all players are inputed onto their respective rosters, at that time you can drop players and add players who were not taken by anyone here.  What Brent is saying is that before he announces to us that all free agents (players not selected) are available for anyone to chose, he will drop Datsyuk and pick up a replacement.

Which I don't think is fair being as how he admitted that it was a risk he took - but whatever.

Jason's correct.

I should point out also that I'm just joking.  Obviously I'll be the first to know that free agency is "open", but I'll not abuse the privilege.

I'm actually not about to drop Datsyuk immediately.  The article left some wiggle room for him to sign yet (prior to December) and you never know, if Detroit can't have him, they may yet trade him.  I will slap him promptly on the bench though.  Spezza is a darn good center and will be playing with either Alfredsson or Heatley and likely both on the power play, so I'm set happily at Center, I just don't have a backup.  Unless Datsyuk has a change of heart or ends up traded.  If I need a backup center sooner than Datsyuk's situation is resolved, well I'll either have to drop him or someone else is all.

No one can pick from the free agent pool, myself included, until I've set the rosters and opened up free agency to everyone.  There will be no effects on the draft.

Why is sarcasm such a difficult thing to communicate online?  I was writing the above while you posted this Rob.  There'll be no abuses of privilege here.

Even for fellow Canadians that offer bribes?  Damn, you're a lot more honourable than I gave you credit for.    :P

Don't worry, once the season starts and the rosters have been input, I'll be open to bribes.  Plus I'll be taking the best of everyone's roster to make my own team better.  Don't worry though, I'll happily return any players I have that are dogging it so no one's roster is empty :P

Please note, the above is sarcasm.  Unless of course none of you trust me, then we'll just say screw it and I'll be winning the hockey pool.  I did mention that everyone's in for $20, right?

On a final note: I hate Canadians.
