Fail.

Moron.

That looks pretty lame... It needs some serious weathering.

This one is equally confusing...

Too bad they couldn't have turned the battery the other way.

Just saw this on Hasbro Toy Shop:

Wolverine in Status Chamber

Kind of cool in a Bacta-Tank Luke kind of way, but not very movie accurate...  :P

I saw Wolverine, and thanks largely to expectations lowered by you guys, didn't mind it that bad.  It was better than X3.  I want to see more Ryan Reynolds as Wade.  He was woefully under used.

Taylor Kitsch sucked as Gambit.  The CGI claws when Logan was in the bathroom were terrible.

I have one spoilerish question, though...why couldn't Victor have tolerated the adamantium fusion?

Definitely wanted to see more of Ryan’s Deadpool.  They could explain away the Weapon XI thing any number of ways, so I hope they figure out a storyline gets us a full movie based on the earlier representation of Deadpool.

Can’t believe you didn’t like the Gambit performance.  I thought he was pretty spot on.  I didn’t really get some of his motivation (Why did he attack Wolverine when Wolvie was beating up Sabertooth?  Why didn’t he get on the chopper at the end?  Why wasn’t he asked to join the X-babies?), but I thought it was a good representation of what I remember from the comics.

My take on the Sabertooth/Stryker conversation about Sabertooth not being able to take the admantium treatment was that Stryker was lying.  The process makes the subject nearly invincible – not a good idea given Sabertooth’s morals.  Wolverine was meant to be a test and Weapon XI should have been 100% under control.  If Stryker gave it to Sabertooth, Sabertooth no longer needs him so worst case Stryker gets killed and best case he has an ever stronger, harder-to-kill maniac on his hands.  On the flip side, if he strings Sabertooth along with promises that it will work, Sabertooth does all of his dirty work and stays in check.  He only told Sabertooth he couldn’t do it at the end because Weapon XI was about ready, so Stryker wouldn’t need Sabertooth anymore.

I've been thinking of doing that in order to make longer skirts.  I'm fairly sure the coats hung much lower (*snicker*) than these, and should appear thicker in material too.

I was deluged with calls and text messages last night from all my friends who saw the movie. They said - DON'T. The consensus was, they liked the movie, but it's not Star Trek. About what I expected. I couldn't see it this weekend anyway, so I'll wait and see it for free in two weeks.

The Onion had an article about Star Trek getting good reviews from everyone but hard core trekies.  Apparently die hard Trekfans are complaining that the movie is too fun & watchable.

I hope they sign him - then the division is guaranteed to go to the Bears!!!!1111!!!

Cutler + Forte = doom for AP and whatever bum the Vikes can sign off the street to be their QB!

Lights out fools!

 :-*

I think the Bears are the best team on paper right now, which is why is going to be so much fun when the Packers mop the floor with 'em. The Green & Gold already had a solid offense last year and they had the best grade from several sources coming out of the draft.  The Vikings are still a QB and a coach short of going anywhere and we don't even need to bring up Detroit.  My money's on the Packers narrowly edging out the Bears for a division title.

Would this by chance be targetted at the Pawtucket RI area?  That way when anyone who works at Hasbro goes into a local WM they would find 60,000 Yarnas.

That would be hilarious!  That might just be worth a road trip this Summer...
I'd be game, Justin, if you need someone to haul them into the store.  ;D (Oh, and you get on me about the quotes function  ;) )

I'll just note that you had to edit yours... ;)

Favre is meeting with Childress in an undisclosed location. Retire or don't, but choose dude.

I agree, Childress should retire.

No, Childress shouldn't retire. He should become the Packer's head coach. We'll trade you T Jack and Childress for a 6 pack of Gatorade.

No thanks, we'll keep the Gatorade.  Maybe you can pawn those two off on the Patriots for some clam chowder?

For anyone interested, I happened to find the new Cyclops figure from the X-Men Origins: Wolverine line.  This is in comic style (Astonishing costume), and I think it is a pretty nice figure.  It does have the "plug in" optic blast beam (similar to the animated figure), but if left off it doesn't seem to be very noticeable at all - so it is a pretty good figure regardless.  I think there is an Iceman in this assortment as well (and more Wolvies), but I didn't see those.

I saw Iceman and Cyclops at Crystal,MN Target a week or two ago.  The Iceman looks pretty cool - Cyclops was so-so, though I never really liked that character.  I passed on both and looked like they were limited to just 1 per case.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Terminator Salvation

I'll have to ponder that a bit and see if I can poke any holes in it.

I may have one... the first time through Reese wouldn't have been in love with Sarah Connor already from all those years of looking at her photo... so how does he end up knocking her up?  I guess you could argue she was just that bangable...  But if he didn't need a photo the first time through, why would John Connor risk altering history by making him an obsessed stalker the second time through?

Hell, how does he recognize her at all without the photo?  I forget if that was a plot point... him knowing what she looked like.  The Terminators sure didn't.

These are easily explained.  The first time thru Reese could have had an entirely different photo of Sarah or maybe, like Ed says, she gets her picture taken in Mexico anyway.  There's really no reason JC wouldn't have a picture of his mom.

As for Reese having sex with Sarah, why wouldn't he bang her?  The women of his time have no showers and he's constantly on the run from killer robots, so an 80's Linda Hamilton and a bed ought to be pretty enticing for his character.  Once the timeline alters with Reese being the dad, JC knows his dad is Kyle Reese from the future, so of course he knows he has to send him back and decides to save that picture to help him.

What I hadn't thought about before was that we see a different character playing JC in T2 vs. Terminator Salvation.  That's really jsut a casting issue, but it could also be used to support an original JC vs. a revised JC with Reese DNA.  I also notice looking back on the original that the war is set in 2029, but that preview I saw today said something about 2018.  Maybe the war just lasts that long, but seems like another potential indication that we are dealing with different timelines.  ;)
