Hey Glass, thanks for posting it again, but I've been having a problem removing the helmets from the mold in the second process, where you make a mold of a hollowed helmet.

The rubber that goes inside the helmet always fills it out too much, and when I try to de-mold, it rips the bottom out of the mold, taking the rubber-filled helmet with it, and ruining the mold.  If this makes any sense, do you have any ideas?

Be careful when DD starts referring to striking his fancy.......

About ******* time.

Mando looks great.  I do like his visor.

These reps have very little sway with the decision makers at Hasbro.  In most cases, their primary focus is supply management and display for the stores/region they're over.  We could dream though.

Wow.  Did you use a vacuum forming machine to duplicate the pieces?

Depends on how big your "part" is, you naughty boy...

Never used food coloring myself, but Micro-mark has a set of 7 pigments for 33 dollars + shipping.  That or buy individual colors for $6.30 + shipping.  I've used the blue, and it works great.  It only takes a tiny bit to achieve a solid color, so it lasts a while.

Whew!  I was worried that you'd use that table to paint on!  I can sleep now.   :P

I like the lightsaber count, but it should probably be a bit smaller, and under the cockpit canopy edge, on the side, similar to where fighter aces post their kill count.

The large Mando skull looks great, but I'm not so sure the Mandalorians would advertise so openly.  Same goes for the writing on the side about beating Jedi ass, and the T visor.  Unless it's an Air Mando "Anywhere-but-the-outer-rim-for-299-credits!" transport, it just seems a little over the top to me.  If you were to write anything on it, I think limiting it to a much smaller word or two, in Aurebesch would look better in my opinion.

If you're into molding and casting parts, you can never have enough of the following:

Baby Powder
Vaseline
Rubber Gloves
Small Paper Cups
Soft, "tickling" paint brush (to get the powder in crevasses of course!)
Paper Towels
Magazines to read while waiting for molds and plastics to cure

This is also a great starter kit for a sperm domation clinic.  Not that I'd know anything about that.....

Oh how I hate posts like this.....just don't post until you have the damn pics.  It's not like we'll be chomping at the bit or anything.

Instead of priming parts after casting, you should try some of the pigments that Micro-mark offers.  I got the blue and the cast parts look much nicer than the funky amber color.  It only takes a tiny bit mixed in to achieve a solid color.

My mom does that and its the most disgusting thing in the world.

Amen!  My mom, and all of my female in-laws do that, and it never gets eaten.

You should get different pigment colors so you can have a Gummy Bear Microman Republic Commando squad!

If that's Scorch Jello, you're forgetting the all-important carrot shavings on top.

Good stuff Gorb.  I really like that Jango bust-up.
