Revenge of the Sith / Re: Wal-Mart Separation of the Twins Figures
« on: November 29, 2005, 07:31 AM »
I found the Twins today and holy ****, I just noticed the gave Obi-Wan a bit of gray hair near the temples?! Has this been noticed or mentioned anywhere yet? I thought he and Bail were straight repacks. Gray hair?!! :o

And I HATE it. Man, that's ugly. Glad it's subtle.

I noticed this as I was looking at him in the package.  I thought it was different but I didn't get my regular Obi-Wan and compare.  Thanks for reminding me.  You're right about it though.  It looks funny...

Revenge of the Sith / What ROTS have you NOT seen on the pegs?
« on: November 29, 2005, 07:27 AM »
I've seen all figures minus some of the paint variants e.g., Shocktrooper (pisses me off), new head stripe Commander Bly, "white face" Meena, and until recently (until Black Friday morning at WM) the "Final 5".  Oh, and just last night I found the "metalic visor" Gree...but no new Bly... :-[

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS Recent Purchases

Found 3 of the new Gree w/ metalic visor at KB Toys in Springfield, VA (got 1).  All I need is 2 of the new, cool looking Bly figures w/ fixed helmet and I'm done w/ ROTS "needs"...but everyone needs more shocktroopers...right?

Revenge of the Sith / ROTS Worst
« on: November 28, 2005, 01:19 PM »
So which are the best ROTS figures, accessories, action features, and which are the worst?

Here are my votes (not as easy as I thought it would be):
Figures
Best:
- Clone Commander (#33, and Bly)
- SA Clonetrooper (#41)
- R4-P17 (nice paint job and great sculpt)
- Count Dooku (Boring but VERY well done)

Worst:
- Mass Ameda (Stupid tongue)
- General Grievous (Exploding Body!) -- Can't stay together

Accessories:
Best:
- Hard for me to say.  Discuss...

Worst:
- The BIG gun (Gree and AT-RT Driver)
- Clone Pilot cannon/radar thing
- Bases (too big...should be smaller)

Action Feature:
- Don't like them so they all get the thumbs down with the exception of the #6 Clone.  The quickdraw works fairly well and we got the SA clone to compensate!

I'm willing to trade my Twins set for the corrected Bly and Gree...

You know the hard part about the latest Gree and Bly variants (besides they are cool and the ROTS line is ending soon) is that it's extra hard to get online.  It's not like Amazon.com will spell this one out.   I live for clones and this is going to drive me crazy...I thought I was done!  I've got to figure out a way to trade for these suckers...

I live in the D.C. area and found them on Black Friday!  See post (w/ pics) on previous page.

It's amazing how different it looks pre and post weathering!  Both look great but the weathered one looks fantastic!!!  How do you make the visor?

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: yoda

I want to believe he sent it to all at once (besides Cody since he mentions Cody by name).   Can you see it: Sidious sits in his chair and says, "Commander ___, Execute order 66", Click, pause, "Commander ___, Execute order 66", click, pause, ... and so on...   Not cool!

To answer the "Protective Cases" question all the way I took a picture.

The Separation of the Twins DO NOT fit in the collector cases for ROTS (Used the Target Trooper case).  :( However, they DO fit in the case that came with the Covert Ops Trooper.  :) See Pic:

The top corners of the card back don't fit into the ROTS collector case.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: yoda

I know the rumored TV show is going to have a little "Jedi that survived" action in it.  I don' t know much about the rumors even but I hear a little "Young Luke", some Vader and some survived Jedi stories.

Sidious did send the message so at least some Commanders individually.  The 1st one we saw was quote, "Commander Cody, execute order 66."  Oh, and the ones we did see some others answer him indiviually implying a personal order.   Either way all we know for certain is Cody's was a personal message.

I think it's because so many of the Clonetroopers were super articulated and looked cool w/ different paint jobs while the Jedi had none of that and most warmed the pegs, which dulled their skills...  I think more time should have been spent on the subtleties of the force and how the Jedi use it.  As it is the movie just zipped along and didn't take the time to show how they felt.

Personally, I think Sidious should not have addressed each Clone Commander but should have made a broadcast to all at the same time.  Then the movie could show each die in turn knowing that the order was simultaneous.   This way they wouldn't have time to "feel it happen" or if they did it would have thrown them "off of their game" enough to be easy targets if they didn't recover fast enough.   Now that would have been cool:  Jedi in battle w/ droids feels disturbance as other Jedi die while his clones turn their weapons on him and before he can get his game face back on BLAM!!!!  -- I should have helped My Lucas out.   It would have been glorious!

Nope, they are just hanging with all the other figures.  I found them behind some Vaders this morning.

I found these today and they were with the regular figures.  Taking a close look at these tells me these will not be "flying off the shelves".   I'm really glad I didn't get another Obi Pilot and never got the Bail figures since these are straight repacks w/ babies in their arms.  However, the packaging is really cool!
