Title: I've just taken my first step into a much larger world...
Post by: JediMAC on February 19, 2003, 07:35 PM
Well, after about a 10-12 year Vintage hiatus, I've finally jumped back into the Vintage arena.  My loose Vintage figure collection has been 2 figures short of being complete for more than a decade (Yak Face & Stormtrooper Luke), but for some reason or another, I never went back and pursued them to finish my collection off.

But with my plans of attempting to put together a complete Vintage carded collection soon, I figured I should polish off the loose ones first.  Therefore, I hit the eBay circuit and came up with this beauty:

Vintage Star Wars Luke Stormtrooper complete! (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2475&item=3114359132&rd=1)

Pretty good price, C-9.5 condition with not even a hint of yellowing in the limbs, and the seller is Jeff Correll who's a very reputable member of the Vintage boards over at GH and RS and a staff member at the great 12back.com site (http://www.12back.com).  It feels really good to finally get my feet wet in the Vintage arena again after all this time.  Most pleased I am!   :)

Just a loose Yak Face left to go now...

Then things are gonna get real hairy...

Great score on the Luke.

Welcome back into the hunt. Keep me posted on the Yak hunt I may be able to give you a few leads. A guy I know had a couple and was selling alot of stuff last year to fund his new business. I can try to get intouch with him to see if he has one. He had 2 and they were nice.

Thanks for the offer Sarge - I'm definitely interested.  Maybe you could drop your buddy a line for me to see if he's still got either of the Yaks.  I'm looking for a solid C-9+ specimen, preferably with it's original staff.  Based on what I've seen on eBay, I'm inclined to be looking right around the $100 range, but not much higher than that - even if it means that I'll have to be somewhat patient.  LMK if you come up with anything, thanks...   :)

Will do

I will put in some calls tonight when I get home. I hope he has them. The ones he had were nice. He was one of those kids who never played with his toys just displayed on a shelf. I will update you when I know more.

JediMac I hate to say the Yak was sold shortly after the others he got rid of. He has 1 left but is unwilling to part with it at this time. If he changes his mind I will let you know.

Thanks for the kudos fellas!  Nice to see that others agree that this is a nice piece.  Hopefully it looks equally as beautiful when it shows up today or tomorrow.  Sorry DP, didn't mean to one-up ya' there!   ;)

Thanks for looking into the Yak Face sarge, I appreciate it.  No worries on your buddy not having one - just gives me a little more time to look around and research the market.  I'll get that Mr. Yakker soon enough...   :)
