Gentle Giant / Re: OT Gentle Giant Busts
« on: December 6, 2004, 11:08 PM »
You know, after luckily getting one of those Chrome Vader Mini-Busts, I was really interested in getting the original (non-chrome) version.  But judging by this auction, I won't be getting one any time soon.   :'(

That would look good on a display shelf in your own home, wouldn't it?  Gonna have to win the 6-49 first!

Or in this lifetime

Fun Auction

OK, this isn't exactly your standard "Wow" vintage auction, but I might just bid because this guy is obviously having fun!

Hmmm... curious.  Mr. Bean needs to keep his options open as to who he can poke fun at.   :)

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Snow!

There still saying its going to get warmer by the end of the week & forecasting a brown Christmas!

Oh, I hope not!  We had a brown Christmas for the only time in my life about 5 years ago when I was living in Regina.  Just plain weird & kinda depressing.  We've got lots of snow here now, and I hope it stays.  But it's supposed to be +5oC on Saturday, so we'll see...

Brrrr.... Winter just arrived today.  It's actually only -13C, but with the wind chill, it feels like -29C.  Yikes!  The snow came too, which is what I wanted, but they can keep the wind.  Yuck.   :-X

I've thought about it too, I think it could be very therapeutic.  Kinda like doing a diary I guess, but I've never taken the time to do that.  However, I seem to spend all of my spare time in front of this computer screen, so maybe I'll give it a shot sometime.  Any idea who hosts these blogs?

The Original Trilogy / Re: Questions for Kershner???
« on: December 2, 2004, 01:58 AM »
Wow, I'm sure that'll be an event you won't forget for a very long time.  Mr. Kershner must have really loved working on ESB, judging by how he would give such involved responses to questions.  Very cool!   8)

Sears was where all the good stuff was!  Man, did I love going there.  And to top it off, my mom worked in the toy department - it was like having your own lab for a crack addict.

The day I will never forget is when I finally saved enough allowance to buy the AT-AT - I remember us waiting outside in the car to pick her up from work and she picked up my AT-AT that I had ordered through the catalogue.  Man, was that the highlite of my childhood as I ripped into that box!

Oh, and stormtripper, don't forget Consumers Distributing.  It was a chain based primarily on catalogue sales.  Many days spent looking through those catalogues, along with the Sears wishbook of course!   8)

Uh, what?   ???

Choice #1 - $100,00 category - Dodge SRT10 - $72,300 CDN
V10 Viper Engine - 500 HP - Incredible good looks, and even available in a Quad Cab to carry the booster seat in the back.  Gotta be somewhat practical, right?  ;)  I've always been a GM guy at heart, but this Dodge is just too purdy.

Choice #2 - $30,000 category - 1970 Olds 442
Ultimately it would need to be a convertible.  455 Big Block, enough torque to melt the tires in a few seconds.  Some day this will be parked in my garage, but until then, I'll just have to enjoy the scenes in Demolition Man.  Obviously this isn't a new car, but I should still find my dream car for about $30K, hopefully.   :o

I think I've been living in Saskatchewan too long, but I'm actually wanting it to snow.  Now that it is December, the Christmas month, I am now officially allowing it to snow.  :)   Don't get me wrong, I don't want the -40C weather, but -10C with a foot of snow and NO WIND is just fine by me.  Bring it on, baby!
