Mine was The White Stripes CD Elephant, it is really cool! I really like that they added the bass and that Meg gets to sing.
I think it is cool 2 people can be so awesome, I also like how they sound a little like Zeppelin
-
Well the last CD I bought was the Soundtrack to the movie Silent Running.
Before that, Shania Twain's new CD "UP". ;D
-
I bought the Bowling For Soup album 'Drunk Enough To Dance'. It is a great pop-rock record I would highly recommend.
John
-
I can't remember what the last CD was that I bought, because my wife does all the buying of CD's. I don't buy them anymore because I just usually listen to the radio.
-
Last CDs I bought were Elephant and the official bootleg of Pearl Jam's concert in Oklahoma City on April 3.

I might be wrong, but I believe the "bass" is just some guitar effects. There's no bass listed in the liner notes, and just guitar and drums when they were on Conan for four nights a couple weeks ago.
-
I've been meaning to buy that White Stripes CD for a while now...I caught a couple of the performances on Conan and they were great! Seven Nation Army is a great song
The last CD I bought was an out of print Cat Stevens CD, which is basically Volume 2 of his greatest hits called Footsteps in the Dark[/i] I can't wait to get it!
-
The Gods and Generals Soundtrack is the last CD that I have purchased.
I am looking for the new Fates Warning CD but can't find it anywhere around Indy.
-
AFI's Sing The Sorrow
-
Last CD bought in a store was Godsmack Faceless (not as good as their last album and not certainly no where near any good as their first) and before that was Elephant by TWS.
I had some bonus points at CH and used them to get Social Distortion Social Distortion and Lauryn Hill The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. I wanted to get a few Weezer CDs, but alas CH doesn't stock them :(
-
Its been a long time for me since I bought a CD. I think the last was Offsprings Best CD and a Star Wars soundtrack.
-
I just bought Apoptygma Berserk's "7". It's German synth-pop, it's dark and wonderful. :)
-
Headstones The Oracle of Hi-Fi
The real best band to come out of Kingston, ON.
Hey Dale, you listen to that CD or just drool on the booklet? ;)
-
Well, the answer to your question is both. (http://adwoff.com/ubb/graemlins/headphones.gif) (http://adwoff.com/ubb/graemlins/drooling.gif) :P
-
Last night, I picked up the new Blur CD, and Tomahawk's latest
-
The latest one was Shania Twain's "UP" and the one before that was Pink Floyd's new digitally remastered Dark Side of the Moon.
-
Mmm, Floyd :D
-
I just picked up Sounds of Summer: The Very Best of the Beach Boys today. A great collection of all their hits for the casual fan. I grew up listening to them a lot since my parents loved their music. Rubbed of on me I guess! I'm not much of a hard rocker like the rest of you fellas! ;)
-
Weird Al Yankovic's new one: Poodle Hat.
Everyone should buy it immediately. :)
-
Just got the new Deftones CD a week or so ago. Pretty good. It's not White Pony 2, though. While that was a great CD, they've got the challenge of trying to top it this time around. I'm gonna give this one a chance to breathe.
-
How the West was Won - the new 3-CD live set from Led Zeppelin. This ahs some the best live performance from these guys that I've heard. A must for any Zeppelin fan. I also picked up the DVD as well and that's awesome too.
-
Unfortunatly, last weekend I bought Mettalicrap's St. Anger album.......and man, I feel raped. I got it for $10.....but it's a worthless album....the only thing I can listen to on it is "St. Anger" The rest of the album sucks BIG TIME........I swear, if Lars Ulrich bangs that darn snare one more time I'm going to go postal on someone!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:(
-
Matrix: Reloaded soundtrack. Hey, atleast the soundtrack was good...
-
Audioslave just so i could hear ''like a stone'' whenever i want!!
-
Last couple of CDs I've bought are the new Deftones album which I think is excellent. Yet another fine example of why they are one of my favorite bands.
The other one is the new Metallica album that I just bought today. I've only listened to 4 songs so far and, eh, I'm not impressed. I hope the rest of the album gets better otherwise file this one with Load and Reload as disappointments by them. :(
-
I bought Jimmy Buffett's "Meet me in Margaritaville" as a b-day present for my sister a couple months ago.
The last one I bought for myself was Audioslave, the day it came out
I obviously don't buy too many CDs ;)
-
Radiohead, Hail to the Thief, yesterday.
Good stuff.
-

To be honest, I've been jamming the heck out of Load....compared to the new album Load is a real keeper ;)
-
Hmmm.. Probably the blank pack of 50, so I wouldn't have to actually BUY the CDs.

Sounds like you two need to visit Thomas' Metallica Rant (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?board=28;action=display;threadid=1237) thread! ;)
-
It seems like there's quite a few Metallica rant threads floating around all of collecting-hood. I've seen several so far, today.
-
Matrix: Reloaded soundtrack. Hey, atleast the soundtrack was good...
heh heh I got the Matrix:reloaded soundtrack too! It does rock though! Play it loud! 8)
-
I picked up Radiohead's "Hail To The Thief" the other day. As with the first listen of any Radiohead album, it's a difficult listen. I think it'll grow on me as I get further into it.

You know, I downloaded the unmastered MP3s a few months ago, listened to them each a couple of times, wasn't that impressed. Bought the CD on Tuesday, listened to it a couple of times in the car, wasn't that impressed. But today, I gave it another spin in the computer, and really got into it. Listened to it another 2 1/2 times.
Radiohead albums are historically difficult to get into at first, in my opinion.
-
I loved Kid A the first time I heard it...I must have ben in the right mood or something because it was all just hypnotically awesome. I can count on one hand though how many times I've listened to it since then. I'll pick up Hail but probably once I get off my Pearl Jam binge
-
I also bought Hail to the Thief. Good stuff. An early favorite is 'There There.'
-
I picked up Hail this morning at Target, I'll listen to it this afternoon :-*
-
And then I forgot I bought the three Pearl Jam Bootlegs just a few minutes ago to the shows I am going and have went to. I have the mp3's as we speak. I tried yelling "Virex" really loud in Nothing as It Seems...its not there :'(
-

At the Oklahoma City show, if you listen real closely during the quiet parts of "The Long Road", you can hear me yell "ICE CREAM MAKER GUY!!!!".
-
I bought Sugar Ray's "In the pursuit of leisure".
Just before that I found two edited cd's from Sublime ;D
I know, I know, but I can't listen to my regular versions in the family car.
-
Collective Soul - 7even Year Itch

Matt Redmond: Where Angels fear to tread
He's a great worship song writer out of England. I've got two of his albums and they are great. He also writes songs for Delirious? and formerly Sonic Flood. Check out his stuff if you like Christian music.
Last Non-christian CD I bought was Counting Crows: Hard Candy
A great album from a great band. Any other Crow fans here??
-
I've picked up 2 CDs this week.
Otep - "Sevas Tra"
Type O Negative - "Life is Killing Me"
The Otep album is quickly becoming one of my favs. ;D
-
How about the last one I burned? I couldn't buy it, because my band isn't selling it yet, LOL! And it isn't done yet, either.
-
Metallica ~ St. Anger :)
-
I got Oasis - "Whats the Story.." on eBay for like $4.00 the other night. My GF said we should own it, and dammit, I agree b/c it's a killer album. "Roll With It" is one my all time favs. and they are/were great in their prime, before the all bickering.
-
The Now 7 CD about 2 years ago, I use Kazaa
-
I just bought The Thorns CD the other day. It's a collaboration of Matthew Sweet, Shawn Mullins, and Pete Droge. It's good stuff, and the harmornies are great!
-
Last two I bought were the new Prince Paul, and new Jack Johnson.
Some good stuff...
-
I've bought some cd's too recently, actually purchased them over the counter and everything! :) Its strange not seeing songs as files.
Last one was Hail to the Thief. I'll come back to it later, even though I still think Kid A was a better one for this 'era' of Radiohead's music. (Course "The Bends" is still the best.
I got a Love two cd set recently which is amazing. That band was all over the map. I found some used Grateful Dead stuff too, some of there early studio albums I had never listened to. "Anthem of the Sun" is good. I know buying their studio stuff is an affront to every bootleg loving Deadhead everywhere, because its not as real, man. I like it though. And I used to dismiss this band all the time.

ROTS soundtrack, new NIN, and new jack johnson.
-
I bought the ROTS Soundtrack for $11 at Target on its release - I've been looking for the Sin City Soundtrack for a week now, and for whatever reason it's not at any of our Wal-Marts, or Target or Circuit City. I don't get it - why can't I find this damn thing? ??? I did find it at Barnes and Nobles but it was marked up to near $20.
-
Damn, talk about bumping an old thread :P
Last CD I bought was a few weeks back... NIN:With Teeth
Sometimes, I'm fine with just getting the music, but with certain bands I need to see the packaging and feel it in my grubby little hands. NIN is one such band.

Is it possible for vinyl to sound better than a CD? I think it must be, though I remember how excited I was when I got my first CD player back in the day.
I picked up Deep Purple Machine Head the other day, only because it's the only disc I know of that has Lazy on it (sorry, it's a flashback tune for me and I love it - the best song on the disc) and it sounds like **** :-\ It's all muddled and thick, even at volume. I'm happy to own it, but after playing it I was wondering why it hadn't been remastered. I was also left wondering if vinyl used to sound worse than this :o

Episode III Soundtrack I think.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - Of Natural History
I think that's the last one, anyway. I don't buy a whole lot of CDs anymore.

Great album. It's a like a melting pot of Morrissey, old U2, and a little Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

WOW... I didn't think anyone listened to them besides me :D

Yep, I'm a big time SGM fan. I've only had the pleasure of seeing them once, but they're playing KC on 6/11 so I will be there barring an amputation or cerebral implosion. :)
I would recommend to anyone, even those that don't like what they've heard of SGM on CD, to catch a Sleepytime Gorilla Museum live show if they can. I can say that their little club show at The Hurricane in KC is rivaled only by Pink Floyd on the Division Bell tour and Tool on the first Lateralus tour as my favorite shows of all time. Good stuff.

used copy of ROTJ soundtrack from the SE release.
used copy of a psykosonik CD

I've got one of their albums. Intriguing stuff. Certainly not pop crap.
-
If you guys like the SGM, you should check out some Porcupine Tree stuff. I just saw them twice last week, and they put on an amazing live show.

I actually bought a CD last week
(http://onethirtybpm.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/wilco_album_390.jpg)
Does anyone still buy CDs?
-
I bought that at Starbucks. Who ever thought that you'd have to start buying CD's at the same place you get coffee? But with record stores going the way of the dodo, it seems to be a more viable option.
-
Death Cab for Cutie's The Open Door EP is the last one I bought and that was in April when it was released. I don't buy many CDs anymore unless I really like the group... though I do get some free ones now and then from a few of my friends' bands.
-
The new Clutch and YOB
-
Does anyone still buy CDs?
On occasion I do but really only one or two a year probably. Mostly I wait for well connected friends to get CDs for free and then preview them on my computer.
-
Metallica - Death Magnetic.
Still regret that purchase. :-\
-
Got Black Eyed Peas and Eminem recently.

I liked it well enough. Much better than St. Anger...
I picked up the remastered edition of Pearl Jam's Ten last week. Sounds like a completely new CD.

Eminem for me, too. What a horrible, horrible album.

They still make CDs? Huh. ???

Yeah, it's got some brutal lyrics. I just skip track 4. Sick stuff.
-

E...
Yeah, they're still cranking those out for people who get annoyed by the sonic inferiority of mp3's.
;D

Neurosis - Honor Found in Decay
OMFG....you're a Neurosis fan!?!?
Dude, we really need to talk. I was just listening to the Tribes of Neurot/Walking TimeBombs split in my car yesterday!
I used to work at Relapse Records in the late nineties when they were still signed and got to know those guys pretty well. Through Silver in Blood had just come out and they were getting a ton of hype. The multi-media live shows were freaking epic.
Major props for your excellent taste in music, sir!

Thats pretty awesome. I was the MD at my college radio station and on the air. Worked a lot with Relapse, went to their showcase at SXSW in 2003 or 2004. I love Steve Von Till's solo stuff. Would love to see him do a solo set live.
