Title: What's with the TINS?
Post by: Darth Bonk on July 26, 2006, 09:03 PM
My great, great grandmother used to collect these.  I couldn't be more uninterested in bad repaints and repacks of boring figures served up to me in a cookie tin.  Maybe I can put it on the shelf next to a nice cutlery set and porcelaine plate display.   ;D

The thing that bugs me about the tins is that everything is a re-release except the Armybuilders which are unique. Although I'm annoyed, you gotta give Hasbro credit for making sure some people are going to buy these.

Another conservative, 'doomed to fail from the beginning' idea from Hasbro.
See- Bikers
      - Comics 2 packs
      - 7inch Unleashed 2006 restart

Dammit Hasbro...take a Risk occasionally?
Ex: good risks   - Evolutions(left it..why?)
                         - Battle Packs
                         - Unleashed Line (original pre 2006)
                         - Titanium 3.75 and small ships

With the exception of Battle Packs(at least alot of them have desirable repacks/repaints) I don't consider it a Risk either with repaints or flat repacks either.

Failed or expected failure new stuff usually includes a 'bait' figure to goad you into buying like

-- Comic Stormie (army builder)
-- Boba Fett (the only HTF out of Unleased's 'reboot'
-- Red droid and white ATRT driver (army builder/droid followers)
