Revenge of the Sith / Re: "Evolutions" assortment...
« on: April 12, 2005, 06:30 PM »
"Really, is there any potential for this line?"

Well, I think Obi-Wan could be done.  Luke could be made, "Farmboy to Jedi Knight."
Palpatine could be done, so could Padme.  It's not endless, but it certainly could continue.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Holo Yoda?

My TRU had a big bin of them, and was selling  them for 9.99.  I bought the ARC-170, and got Yoda free.

Yeah, that evolutions set looks nice.  I think that is a neutral/SA  E2 version of Anikin.  Looks like he comes with a gold hand, and a chian(?) to ride the Reek with.

Also, that clone armor Obi-Wan is the crappiest version of a highly desired figure since R5-D4 shot a missle!  It's just terrible!!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS - Deluxe Figures

I wonder if the clone 3-pack will come in different paint schemes like they did last time.  There seems to be many paint jobs in ROTS that could be used on these guys,

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Kids and ROTS (SPOILERS)
« on: April 5, 2005, 11:47 AM »
"a fondness that, to be honest, is firmly anchored in the Empire Strikes Back"

Speak for yourself.  I love Empire, but what made me a lifelong Star Wars fan was the joy, optimism, humor and excitement of ANH!!

While I worry about parents taking young kids to this, I saw lots of young kids at all 3 LOTR movies, and they were PG -13.  I think there will be some backlash, but if the film delivers, it will soon pass.

As far as kids having nightmares about Anikin burning, I think that's OK.  I would point out to my child that Anilkin was greedy and made selfish choices, that's why he burned.  These movies have always been designed as moral guides.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Wal-Mart "Early Bird" Exclusive
« on: April 3, 2005, 11:30 PM »
Well, I think I'll pass on this one.  There's no Wal-Mart close to where I live (Bronx, NY) and I juts don't fell like ordering one on the web.  I had the original Early Bird Kit whn I was a kid.

Anyway, I'm sure the figures will be available carded  just like they were back in 1978.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: RotS Figure Impressions?

I'm pretty happy with these as well.  This is, by far, the best movie year collection ever.  And I like the TPM figures.  I'm really hoping these do well and we can get some more ROTS stuff next year.  Unfortunately, I saw one TRU that had dozens of pegs with 1-24 only.  I'm worried that misguided distribution of the initial waves will hurt later waves.

Reagrdless,  these are great, great figures!!   Hasbro stepped up to the plate and nailed it this time!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: 500th commemorative figure... Vader?
« on: March 31, 2005, 05:10 PM »
While I understand that making things to scale is difficult, this this is so small it's funny.  To me, it looks like Vader's toilet, which would be down the hall, and to the left, of his meditation chamber.

I would have paid 25.00 for a good size chamber with a bottem and a top.

Who knows, maybe we can redeem our Jedi Points for a top half!

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: New Death Star Trooper ?
« on: March 30, 2005, 03:14 PM »
Y'know, with word of the Wal-Mart Early Bird kit floating around , maybe Hasbro is going to remake the original 12 figures.  We would definitly get a DST (or Death Squad Commander) if that comes true.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Looking Back...
« on: March 28, 2005, 09:26 PM »
It's funny.  Sometimes when I watch TPM and AOTC all I see are the shortcomings.  They're slow, the acting is stiff, the jokes don't work...

Other times I watch them and I love them.  I see all the humor, excitement and lunacy that I like in the OT.

My TPM experience is very different than many others.  I was terrified that the movie would be awful.  Lucas was connected to some real crap in the late 80s early 90s and I feared for the worst.  I was actually surprised how much I liked TPM.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Holo Yoda?

Well, while it sucks, tha April 10 makes sense for TRU.  Regardless of an exclusive, I'll spend a bundle at TRU  at MM.  Now, with Yoda hitting April 10, I HAVE TO go back to TRU and sepnd 25 bucks.  It's really quite genius.  Well, I'll save a ship or two for April 10!

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Possible Animated Wave 4?

Wow!  Just saw #24!  I don't care how long it takes, but I NEED a figure of that Hammerhead Jedi!

Pete Fett, I was thinking that 4/2 might hold some Clone Wars surprises also. It would be great, but, honestly, when was the last time new product appeared on the pegs before it showed up online?

Saga Collection '06 / Re: 2007
« on: March 18, 2005, 05:43 PM »
It's kind of funny...I cringe when Lucas changes or adds to the OT, but the thought of him tinkering with the PT is fine.  I like the PT, but I just don't have the same affection for them as I do for the OT,

Anyway, I would love to see a digital Yoda in TPM.

Actually, for us, the 3D announcement is great.  We now know that Star Wars will have a big 30th anniversary push.  Sure, it means more Hans, Lukes and  Vaders, but I'm sure we'll get some cool stuff.

If anything, it means that there will be movie realted ( not TV) Star Wars stuff on the shelves until 2008.
