Argh, that's so ***!

The WalMarts around me suck, to put it lightly.

Well, I might as well mark this one off as a 'no' now, since I will probably never see it...

Although, one thing, if it's as abundant as the Cantina set, I should be good to go.

Celebration IV - Ultimate Group Project / Re: Are we serious or not??
« on: January 15, 2007, 03:06 PM »
I just want to put it out there that I never fully committed to being in this project. I know my name is on the list of Ryan's, but I just said I might be able to do it, or I think I will.

Now that I'm thinking about this more and more, I regret to say that I won't be able to be a part of this, whether it falls through or not. I will definitely not be able to go to C4 or LA, and I'm pretty sure my parents would be against me shipping figures. After all, I'm only 15.

Sorry guys.

I'm going to be going to WalMart tonight to pick up a few supplies for a camping trip, and I'm hoping I'll be able to find the new Germans. Especially the DAK ones so I can set them up with my Stuka fighter (I think the one I bought has North Africa Camo).

Only, I have no f-ing clue what happened to it's canopy. It fell off one day when I wasn't home and I can't seem to find it anywhere, damnit!

So is the 2nd wave of new figures hitting WalMarts now Jesse? Or did you order them online?

Your writeup was very nice man. I agree with you 100% on the points you made on the figures that I already bought.

I haven't been to WalMart since before Christmas and then the first wave of new figures seemed to be selling rather well.

I'm going to have to do a hell of a lot of boiling and freezing to get these guy's legs straight. I'm almost positive they'll be spread-eagled. It would've been alot nicer if they were packed standing next to their bikes rather than on them.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: D_N's Customs-1/1- 4 New Customs
« on: January 1, 2007, 06:37 PM »
Thanks guys, your comments really help.

I was scrambling a bit to get a substantial update together today. They don't have anything in common, just random little customs that I came up with.

First, we have a third clone in the 84th Communications Corps:

Next we have a Phase 1 armored clone with colored legion markings:

The Imperial Intelligence Bureau was a special division of the Imperial Navy. Their main objectives were to locate and investigate terrorist cells and Rebel troop movements. They wore uniquely colored uniforms and had their own small fleet of space craft. Unfortunately, due to a string of failed campaigns, the Bureau was broken up and those serving under it were transferred to other battle groups.

And last but not least:

Private Korsal was an Imperial soldier serving under the 85th Infantry Division. He was his squad's communications officer. He carred a large pack with a powerful long-range antenna on it. When not wearing his helmet, he used a hands-free headset attached to his belt. He was killed in a Rebel ambush.

Well, I hope you like them. LMK what you think. Thanks for looking.

Thanks Deanna Rash and speedermike.

I was kinda hoping to save this guy for a big update later in the week, but he was finished and I thought he was pretty good. Once in a while I like to strayaway from my main custom projects and just have a little "painting exercise" just for fun.

The 188th Ranger Unit is a combat unit operating under the 41st Elite Corps. These troopers are specifically trained in jungle operations, stealth combat, and guerilla tactics. They often work in teams of 4 and are usually assigned to asset denial, destorying fuel depots, securing airfields, etc. Their armor is painted in several different types of camoflauge, their faces smeared with camo paint, and their weapons wrapped in cloth to help hide themselves in the thick foliage of the jungle. They carry a pack on their chest armor to keep their supplies handy.

Here is Sergeant Cass is a member of the 188th Ranger Unit. He is a calm and cool-headed leader, and is an excellent guerilla fighter.

The base figure is ROTS #41 with an AT-TE Gunner head, and was painted entirely with Tamiya brand acrylics (the best for clone customs IMO).

Well, I hope you like him. LMK what you think. Thanks for looking.

HORRIBLE. The occasional store will have some Endor 2/Nabbo sporadically, but other than that the pegs are few and far between, clogged with Endor 1 and Greatest Battles, packages ripped open everywhere, and flung all over the place. It's a mess. I haven't seen Endor Luke or any of Wave 7.

What's funny, though, is that the KMarts around me don't even have a single figure on the pegs. :)

They're around DN, that's why you should check out the Pittsburgh forums and get involved because you'll get some tips on your area from time to time.  They're not out in abundance, but just tonight the WM out on Route 8 happened to get them in, so they're sporatically showing up here and there...  That store's a little closer to my haunts than I've heard reports.  Seems the N. Hills area got them first.  I've heard nothing about your area near the AP, Monroeville, Greensburg, and I hit the Mills Mall and haven't seen them there...  Nothing around C3 either that I'm aware of.

Unfortuneately I don't really have time during the week or weekends to head out to other locations where it seems that other Pittsburgh collectors are faring better. I'm pretty much stuck to Robinson and Beaver Valley, which kind of sucks. :-\

I'll be going down to GA and SC over break, though, so hopefully I'll see some there. All I want are those damn 442s.

I have not seen any sign of this wave so far- not even remnants. Just Greatest Battles, Endor 1, and Endboo.

What about you Jesse?

Today I saw a DDay 2nd Ranger Scout with his insert upside down. I considered buying him just to take a pic and for some extra fodder but I was already swamped with other Christmas gifts.

I did pick up the Stuka today, though, and just spent a good half hour putting it together. It's my first WW2 plane, and it's fantastic. I have no place to put it, though I think I'll hang it up. What do you guys use?

Thanks for the headsup Darth Broem, it was rather hard to put it together. I had to use some superglue on the tail fins for it to stay on.

I really love the camo scheme on it, but the figures are hard as hell to put in the cockpit in a good pose. And I just gave up on having the gunner hold onto the MG-15.

Does anyone have the Stuka fighter in 1:18th? There's a few sitting at my local WalMart and I'm debating on whether or not I should pick it up. How are their fighters, anyways?

After the Seperatist military leaders continually saw failure with droids in jungle and snow combat situations, they turned to human and alien support. Recruiting most fit men and some alien species, they briefly trained them to become Seperatist troops mainly using guerilla tactics. Not having a specific combat uniform, they mainly wore mercenary-style clothes and equipment.

Aden Proga is a middle aged man serving in the Seperatist military. Wearing a thermal jacket as well as an equipment vest, he wages a silent war against Republic troops on Kogerlos.

I know that the gun I gave him is the one I always give my clone troops. I have an order from Marauder Inc. en route and I'll give him a more Seperatist-like gun.

Well, I hope you like him. LMK what you think. Thanks for looking.

While I like the new layout, I'm not sure I like having the "Total time logged in" bar so prominently displayed though.

13 days, 21 hours, and 5 minutes. Jeez. I'm not sure I like it either...I really don't need reminding that I could have spent 13 days of my life doing other things.
