The Vintage Collection / Re: $5 Vintage Collection @ Five Below
« on: November 3, 2012, 10:05 PM »
It's telling of how bad things were/are, when I saw more of the figures from those cases at 5 Below in one day than I saw all of last year at every store I went to combined. (And that wave I actually did see a few times)

Thanks for the wheel barrow notice, I probably would've walked right past it. Though, they had plenty on pegs...which I preferred because I'd just as soon leave unpunched for those who care.

Aww...crud. I forgot to even look for those today. Maybe they didn't have them.

I saw Republic Scout Speeders at Marshalls for $10. Anyone still looking for those? (no, no y-wing scout bombers).

They had them here. It's too much...$5 figures and good ones. I had to stop at $20...2 stormtroopers (yes, the non-unibrow version), AT-RT driver and that Nikto Jedi (even though he'll be a peg warmer...I never got him before). I can see myself spending $20 a week there for as long as they have anything worth buying.  :P

TRU finally got Wave 6? The Lost Line wave. Now that the old sale is over. JERKS. Had a two day sale 2 for $15.99. But I passed, I can get 3 figures at 5 Below, and I wanted Leia, but the regular card version was sold. All the NEW GUN sandtroopers were sold. Funny I saw some woman with her daughter "they have Princess Leia....she looks strange. And Darth Vader but his head is clear...don't like that Darth Vader."

CONSUMER'S WRATH DARTH VADER! Not good enough for her daughter!

Intense is being recruited at a tender young age by a strange religious order, then trained with deadly weapons, taught to master odd powers and put in perilous situations.

The Jedi are instituionalized child abusers.

I'm joking...I think.   ???

It was watchable. I'd take more one shots over another lifeless story arc. Why wasn't it supposed to be part of the series? They wanted to use Legos?

Funny, OLD FRIENDS was originally set to air...listed on the program guide.

Oh, minor SPOILERS ...peaking ahead....this is the first of 3 youngling episodes... :-X

See you in March, Darth Maul!

Oh, hey, it's that planet that was in the other CLONE WARS cartoon.

Yung-Ling episode....interesting, which of them was named Yung Ling? Seriously, this was mercifully brief, though did we really need Ahsoka in this episode at all? My fav kid was the Ithorian,  didn't care much for the Rodian, "Kid Fisto" bit was typically trite (how dare he use technology!) and there was the douche human boy , which is what we are supposed to think of him...even though he was the first to realize they were gonna have to split up and do things on their own, even if it was for an egotistical reason.

All familiar Star Wars species...and do all the women in Adi Gallia's culture wear those tendril hats?

Who gets to remove the corpses of failed younglings?

Oh, and all these kids will be murdered in the next year or so. Ha-ha...kinda makes you wish they 'd all have flunked out of the Jedi order, huh?

I'm always up for buying OT and some PT and EU but I refuse to buy the sequel stuff. That ST just isn't Star Wars to me.  ;)

You can risk it. Brave those cold subterranean flood waters to save $2!

Or not.  ;)

Opened mine. I missed the first release of the AT-ST driver. (In fact haven't bought an AT-ST driver since POTF2)

Shouldn't they have imperial emblems on both shoulders? At least one of them in the movie did.

A bit tall, IIRC I knew that already, which is a bit irritating, mainly because they make Stormtroopers look smaller.

And in a perfect world, they'd have come with two helmets each, goggles down and goggles up, like vintage carded Naboo pilot.  And easily removable harnesses.

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Disney Buys LFL; Announces Episode 7
« on: October 30, 2012, 06:09 PM »
Yes.  Over the summer, Hasbro announced the Star Wars license was extended to 2020...

Disney has a great relationship with Hasbro and Hasbro has a great relationship with LFL.

Hasbro gave the impression that LFL has seemed pushy lately, though, that's why we are getting those smaller class 2 vehicles next year. So will LFL oversite remain the same or loosen up?

Part of me still thinks "A NEW HOPE" remake will happen, not sequels.

Part of me wonders what this means for Hasbro's involvement with Star Wars products, before or after their contract expires...if anything.

I sold a CD where the disc look new, unscratched.

Buyer gets it, says it won't play right. I can only assume they are being truthful, even if they aren't...ebay would take their side.

Lesson here is, listen to everything I sell...which is hard, especially when I get music I dislike (sometimes I get lots of CDs for cheap at yard sales). Or never sell CD's on ebay. I'm leaning towards never sell. All the hassle to make sometimes as little as a dollar, then LOSE money because someone wants a full refund.

I've seen fan made stop motion vids that were more entertaining and shorter.

If they wanted this story to have impact, the rebels would've been all but massacred and the Seperatists won. Then Palpatine rubs in the Jedi's face that only direct military action will liberate CIS held worlds.

Or (this is what I thought they were going for early on), the Jedi relent to direction military involvement, the Clone Army does arrive, but disarms the rebels and imposes martial law over the whole planet.

Maybe we'll see Zombie Joanna.

Maybe it's a ploy to escape Woodbury, even though they supposedly can leave anytime.

SPOILERS

They built the gov'nuh as too-good-to-be-true friendly, then suspicious then revealed his intentions then....went too crazy too quick.  The end was a bit over-the-top...dare I say, comic booky.

So did the pilot die or did he have him killed? Hmmm...a living pilot might be useful than say, an untrusting pissed off woman and a sickly woman who asks a lot of questions.
