Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Movie = Aliens 5!!
« on: May 27, 2003, 02:50 PM »
Yeah, Predator 2 was certainly no were near as good as Predator, but Alien3 and Alien:Resurrection were both horrid perversions of an excellent storyline set up by Alien and Aliens. An Alien vs Predator movie would work IMO much better than this Freddy Vs Jason movie, because the flick would be dealing with species rather than individuals. But there would need to be a couple things to make it work...

*It should not be called "Aliens vs. Predator". That just sounds dumb.

*It would need a competent director.

*It would need an excellent script.

*NO RIPLEY.

*NO HYBRID ALIEN GARBAGE.

*NO CHEEZY COMIC-INVENTED PREDATOR "HONOR CODE". The Predator needs to be taken back to its sadistic roots.

*Aliens and Predator(s) that tend toward the design and behavior of the creatures from Alien, Aliens, and Predator (The weapons from Predator2 kicked @ss though).

*Colonial Marines, baby! :D

A great guy, and very easy to deal with. Hooked me up with 3 Clone Pilots! Just in time too, as the separatist forces were getting really close and that gunship was a sitting duck! :p

Thanks again!

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Favorite Geonosian???
« on: May 23, 2003, 11:47 AM »
After really looking at the Geonosians onscreen, I'm not very happy with any of the figures released thus far. None of the figures look like actual creatures that are comfortable with their physiology like they did onscreen. The figures look like they're in a constant state of "flailing". I'd love an army builder geonosian that can stand almost at attention like the one standing guard outside Obi-Wan's cell when Dooku walks in.

There's no reason why we shouldn't be able to have a good Geonosian figure. I guess I blame it on the whole action-feature/pose tendency of the SAGA line. But now that that's over, I wish Hasbro would give us some good stuff.

And yes, the Geonosian fighter looks SICK!!! I never thought they'd make it.

Anyone want a giant Spider Droid?

I want one of these so bad I can taste it!

I'd love an assortment of the Homing Spider Droid (that's what they call it on the OS), and the AT-TE. My life would nearly be complete!  :o

Saga '02-'04 / Re: How Long Will Hasbro Make 3 3/4"
« on: May 21, 2003, 04:34 PM »
This poses the question...

Will you be interested in starting a collection of a new line at a new scale? I really only collect the 3.75" figures. I have 2 or 3 of the 12" figures. The prospect of starting a new line at a new scale is a little overwhelming. Can you imagine if all the 3.75" figures you have were at the 6" scale? I'd have to buy a house just for them.

The MOMC completist 2-of-everything collectors would be screwed.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Soft Goods?
« on: May 21, 2003, 04:28 PM »
I'm an adamant supporter of soft goods. *shakes fist in the air for dramatic effect*

There's no reason why figures in cloaks should always have to be stuck in a standing pose. I'm sure that doesn't help kids get into star wars. I would have been pretty ticked off as a kid if Jedi Luke couldn't fit into the TIE interceptor with his cloak on. Though I'm not sure why he would anyways.

I just think that sculpted plastic robes (or ponchos, or half-cape Boba Fett thingees, or Endor overcoats) take away alot of the versatility of action figures. Sure, I don't need Orn Free Taa to pilot the X-wing, but the main characters should be able to fit into any vehicle. And soft goods allow this.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Movie Maniacs 6
« on: May 21, 2003, 10:13 AM »
This is hands down, my favorite Movie Maniacs assortment from McToys. Of course, I'm a big Aliens/Predator fan, so I'm a little biased. The articulation on these is superb, and it doesn't hurt the detail. I'm really hoping that we get an Alien warrior from "Aliens" before they lose the license on these.

I could see Hasbro releasing the MOTDS Vader on a card and reissuing the POTJ X-wing Luke.

Oh man....I've got 2 gunships already, and now I'm contemplating a third. The price is right, but living in NYC doesn't allow for a lot of extra space...

On a similar note, anyone know where I can get gunship pilots these days?

Other Toy Lines / McFarlane Figures (formerly Movie Maniacs 6)
« on: May 16, 2003, 11:58 AM »
I just got my MM6 figures the other day (Aliens and Predators), and these are great figures! Its about time McToys actually released great sculpts with great articulation! These are really the only figures other than Star Wars that I'm interested in seriously collecting. I'm not a Movie Maniac fan per se, but I'm a huge Alien and Predator fan. Very happy with these figures. :o

Anyone else collect these?

Modern Trading / Have Ephant Mon (MOC), want Han Hoth
« on: May 16, 2003, 10:38 AM »
Hey guys,

I have an Ephant Mon (MOC) and I'm looking to score a Hoth Han. Card condition doesn't matter as long as the figure itself is mint. Drop me a line...
